Goals: finish a game, have fun, learn something.

Let's do this!

New to game dev so it'll be simple, but hopefully Ill make something good.

I'm in!

So, trying to make a game .

Good Luck Everyone!!! :top:

Stuck between choices. Help?

Here is what I have so far. I am happy with both ideas but I don't know what to pick.

  • A shrinking world of which the player must fix. Every time the player dies the world shrinks? The size of the world will be determined by the progression of the player. e.g. A set of tasks will allow the player to expand the world and access new resources. Instead of controlling a single character, the player will create a tribe of sorts (workers, farmers, etc.).

  • Eternal Terrarium idea? Growing a world inside a jar. By adding different species to the jar, the outcome will be different. The aim of the game would be to complete tasks each time you play. These tasks could be: . Get 5 species of worms to thrive . Start a colony of ants . Grow a plant to the top of the world Completing a set of tasks would allow the player to pick a larger jar next time?

Which idea should I pursue?

I really don't have any idea of what i will gonna do but LET'S DO THIS

Tools i'm using:

  • Gamemaker Studio
  • Famitracker and Fl Studio for music
  • SFXR for sounds
  • aseprite and Adobe Photoshop for graphics

That's it

GOOD LUCK GUYS

Small world with great big

The local government posted a sign that was worded wrong tomorrow I am getting a picture of it. So my it's a small world with great big (see the sign it will make sense)

Happy 15th anniversary Ludum Dare...

I'm going to use netbeans, java but I'm going to use a JSFML (library) and Aseprite...

We're In!

We can't create a team yet, but hopefully that changes in the next few days. Good luck everyone! A Small World - good theme!

My first game jam!

This is the first game jam that I am participating. No idea what my game will be, thinking about the theme. Already excited, hoping to enjoy the process. Let's have fun! I will be using the SFML library with C++ and paint.NET for the graphics.

For the 10th time too, time has really flown by. Will most probably end up making a Unity VR game once again, this time I'll hopefully have time to port it to 2D too. Also, for the first time in my LD experience, I woke up (at 4 AM!) for the start of the Ludum Dare, which is giving me 8-16 more hours than I've had in previous Ludum Dares. This'll be interesting indeed. Have fun dareing!

EDIT: Ah yeah, I'll be liveposting on my Mastodon, so if you're on Mastodon or GNU Social, give a follow ;) I might do bigger updates (one per day or such) on here too.

So it begins...

We're in for the Game Jam! Time to start prototyping... and making coffee!

Self explanatory. :p

This is my third Ludum Dare and every time before this I had forgotten to do any blog posts .-. So i'll try to post more this time.

Tools that I'll be using are: - Godot - Gimp
and some other things I cant think of at this moment.

Currently I'm unsure If a friend of mine will really be able to participate so to start I'll be going solo. Well best of luck to you all and I should start!

2nd Compo Unfortunately, Im going to be pretty busy this weekend, so I'm not sure how much time I will have to make something. Im aiming to make something very simple that will be realistic for the time I can commit. Using javascript and html5 to make a game from scratch.

Good luck everyone!

First Ludum Dare for me! Gonna try to whip up something for fun. Cheers!
