I just wanted to write a little thank you to the whole community.
It's been so fun 1) making a game in 48 hours 2) getting positive & constructive feedback 3) playing everyone else's fantastic creations! There are some seriously amazing games out there that have inspired me to become an even better developer/artist/musician. This is my second time doing the compo and I feel like I learn so much each time from the experience and from the great feedback from everyone here.
So, thanks LD community! Hope to see all of you in the next one :)
I made a timelapse video of work on my game, Chicken Tender. It's pretty crazy to see it all coming together in the span of 2 minutes. https://youtu.be/Qffhh3NhIyw
feel free to check out the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/chicken-tender

Anyone particularly like a game or just want to share their own with me? Just leave a comment, and if it is HTML5 (or another web-based standard) I will be sure to rate and leave some good feedback! Mine is https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/a-spark-of-light! I wish you'll the best of luck and hope you had fun coding all night!

For my first Ludum Dare game, I set out to make a dialogue system that was realistic - no repeated text lines. Instead of writing out possible dialogue by hand, every line is procedurally generated. Each speakers comes equipped with their own set of beliefs, and each one can voice their opinions, be swayed by others, and interrupt. As a result, dialogue in Conversations is organic and evolves each time you play.

It would be a shame if you interrupted such a vivid conversation by drawing attention to yourself...
Check it out at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/conversations !
hey guys my first game for Ludum dare is very close and would appreciate the help getting it over the line and any feedback on how broken some elements are classic game jams haha The game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/observer-bunker-sim
So guys! We solved some Bugs! Now we have a good game xD Come play and Print your final score and tag we @hadouvic and @benhurvillar on twitter <3 https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/fishing-day

I'd just like to thank everyone who's played "Super Power Omega OP Force Sigma: Lasers of Lightning so far". It was fun to make, and I'm glad to see that most of the reception so far has been positive.
For those of you who haven't played it, I can't blame ya, there's been a lot of neat stuff this Ludum Dare so far. However, the entire game is only about 5-15 minutes long if you don't die a lot, so if you can find that kind of time to play it, I'd certainly appreciate it. The game is a shoot 'em up where the main gimmick is that the enemies get power-ups when you get power-ups. Here's a few screenshots:

If you do decide to give it a go, I hope you enjoy it!
Welcome to my first Ludum Dare ever. I know that doesn't mean much given that there were nearly 3,000 entries and my game is but a single one among them all, but damn am I proud.
I've been wanting to do a game jam for a few years but it never seemed like a good time. I was either too busy, too lazy or too afraid to make an attempt, but this time was different. I had just completed a half-marathon and was feeling pretty motivated or at least more so than usual, and with that, I embarked on my journey.
I had a few goals for the jam: 1. Learn something new 2. Make everything myself 3. Submit it regardless of how far I get
I am happy to say that I accomplished all of my goals and created something that resembles a game. It can be played, hopefully, and enjoyed. Though I am not too concerned about how the game ranks, I am very excited for some good feedback that I can use to improve my next game jam game.
The premise of my game is as follows. You are a pirate sailing the high seas looking for business opportunities, and, as a pirate, that means pillage and plunder. You come across a bay filled with fishing boats and merchant ships and with no navy in sight you get to work collecting your booty. However, as you start slaying the innocents and taking their hard earned treasure the Royal Navy is sent to deal with you. At first, only a few ships can be spared since you aren't a big threat but as you become an even larger thorn in the empire's side. More and more of the navy is sent to give you a royal beating fitting for the pirate scum you are.
To make the game I chose Unity3d as the game engine and Krita for the art. I had planned on using Audacity for the sounds but never made it that far. I was somewhat familiar with Unity but I never did much more than dabble from time to time, so I knew going in that I would spend a good chunk of time learning the tool. Once the jam started most of my first full day was spent reading the documentation and watching youtube videos, but with the jam's time constraint I feel like that time was incredibly productive. Mostly because I could only learn enough to solve the problem at hand before needing to move on to the next task. In fact, I was quite surprised with the sheer amount of stuff I was able to learn in such a short amount of time and feel like I have a solid foundation from which to move forward.
Unity wasn't the only thing I had to learn, but if you've seen my game you might be surprised to hear that I am not an artist...I know you're shocked. I'll give you a minute while you try to regain your composure. Now, with that being said, I like to think I flexed my artistic muscle this weekend and created something that looks half-decent. Most likely because it was all equally bad and so it created a consistent look and feel. I do hope to improve though and fully intend to make my own assets going forward to get some much-needed practice.

This was the very first thing I created and I intended it to be a placeholder while I worked on getting the basic gameplay off the ground, but I was never able to find the time to recreate it. The funny thing is, I was trying pretty hard when I created that ship. I choose to look on the bright side though...I can only go up from here. :)

My third attempt at drawing a ship. I think this one turned out much better and I am quite proud of my adolescent level drawing abilities. Look out mom and dad but this one is going up on the fridge.
This whole experience taught me quite a bit and I can honestly say that I am addicted to game jams and fully intend to compete in as many as I can. The sense of accomplishment I feel right now insane and I can't wait to see where I go from here.
If you are interested you can find my jam entry here. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/arr-a-generic-pirate-game
But ~2 more rates and we will be 20! Also, games to rate will be highly appreciated!
(Now, updated!)
After the unavoidable post mortem, onething I really wanted to do was to fix the game's issues. I didn't do too much, nothing you can compare with the crunch of a game jam. But still even doind these little things takes time.

Hey guys, check out our game called Peregrin, about stealing a bank. At first, you can double jump, hide behind tiny bushes, and stuff but the bags of money makes you heavier, and put more police on track!! You can drop bags any time though, and that's the catch!
The game came up pretty hard, my best score was 1600 or so, some people couldn't even finish, Let me know your score!

We are Brazilian game development students, we are beginning in this long journey, we would love some feedback and tips.
Could you help me out and get it to 20? https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/marty-the-hatted Thanks!
Any type of thoughts on it are appreciated!
Now go check out and vote on all the other cool stuff!
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/escape-the-fans only missing a few review to get the 20 review.
I've had a lot of people on Windows 10 with hard crashes on launch. I hope I've managed to fix it now! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/$58074
This is my first compo so I hope you enjoy it. Any and all feedback are not only appreciated but encouraged. Also post links to yours here so I can play them too ^_^.
Collect "False Stars". You use energy as you move and have a limited supply. You can only carry so many "false stars" at once (but there may be a way to get more at a time…). Game is procedurally generated and the value of False Stars decreases with sale of them and the value of energy increases with purchase of it simulating inflation, supply, and demand.
CONTROLS: WASD or ARROWS to move (no backward movement; left and right also move a bit forward)
The real stars tell you where the map is; moving too far away, you’ll get lost in space… As you collect more mass, you move more slowly and your energy consumption to move around increases. As you collect more, it becomes harder to survive.
The game has many more intended features than are currently in it. More later. Please note: The game currently has a scaling issue for the web build. Please make sure you use the fullscreen feature to see all the UI. There also may be some issues with playing in safari or mobile; please use chrome or firefox.

Changelog (12/5): Added Resizable Window..forgot to check the box the first time. Added Code in Play.cs, fixed game breaking ability keeping players from playing again.
New features cannot be added yet. They will be added to the PostLD branch on GitHub, then merged with the master branch after the judging ends.
Thanks all for looking.

Since our first Ludum Dare (32, Theme: Unconventional Weapon) we've stuck with the same character and built on it in every game. It's fun to keep making some wierd random plot for our 80s style action hero character, and we generally manage to get a different genre each time. We're pretty sure we'll always try to fit our Character Craig Killbane into every Ludum Dare we do from here on out. This game jam was extra special as we managed to make a 3D model for him. A 3D artist/animator joined our team and I don't think it could have turned out better. We're pretty sure the biggest fans of Killbane is us, but we hope others can enjoy the wackyness. Shoutout to @pkenny though as he commented about previous games and really made our day!
Anyway, give our game a try. It might be our best yet
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/nuclear-arms-5-orphan-overdrive

Whew! That was a very long needed rest! Congratulations to everyone that has made it through this Ludum Dare! I still haven't had the opportunity to play a great deal of games yet, but I can't wait to see what some of your bubbly wacky minds came up with! If you weren't able to make it to make it to the finish line this time yet, don't push yourself too hard. We also weren't successful on our first jams, but it was a matter of keep trying until we got there!
After having skipped Ludum Dare 39 in August, we're proud to say that Whales And Games is back! And this, time, during our fourth Ludum Dare as a team, we're proud to present you to Jazzy Beats!

Well, if that title card doesn't already tell you what the whole deal is just by looking at it, then let me just tell you straight ahead what the whole game about - Being an Jazz-centring idol (appropriately named Jazzchan) and about capturing your rival's fans hearts and turning them into your fans! The fastest way to get around doing that? Using the power of music, of course! Oh, and punching the living :poop: out of them too.
Why would you want to do that? Well, because that's what your rival told them to do in the first place!

Why don't you just get over her and settle matters with her person-to-person then? Well. Because solving business like that is professional-y questionable, you see.
So, get ready to Jazz and for some beat-em-up action! Make sure you score up on those combos together with your fans! You can check out the game over at our game page. You can either download it and play it on your desktop, or even play it on the browser directly! Yes, even with controller support! The more fans you get on your side, the worse it gets for the opponent idol. Make sure you convert as many fans as possible! :sparkLEs:

We also have to thank all of the feedback we've already got by some great folks over at our game page, and we've been trying to return them as much feedback possible to their games as well (and will reply to the ones they left on our page soon)! :yellowheart: If you got a game that'd you like to get some feedback on, make sure to post a link over in the comments that'll make sure to play them the first opportunity I can get! :blueheart:
On behalf of everyone over at Whales And Games, thanks a lot for the whole experience that this Ludum Dare has been so far. Sure, we're still on the beginning of the judging period, but just with all of the action from these last four days, we already know this is going to be one we're not going to want to forget anytime soon. Thanks! :trumpet: :whale:

One last shameless plug before I head to bed... I've had a lot of fun today. I've played sooo many good games that make me wonder where we'll all end up in the rankings.
Tomorrow I plan on using some of the exploits I know from my game to make a speed run.... See just how quickly I can finish it. I'll record it for all to wonder at and try to duplicate. Let me know your quickest times so I'll have something to compare against tmw. Let me know if you figure out any of the "exploits" that'll make you run super fast... there is more than 1 way.
But I'm exhausted right now so I'm off to sleep. If you rate my game and leave a comment... I'll be sure to play your game and leave you a rating in the morning when I wake up.

Hello guys! This is my 7th entry: Working Death.
You are The Death and you are at work. Your workday is finishing and you only have to sign some papers of the last souls you catched in this day. But you have little time.
As The Death, you MUST kill all people that you see in your way. That means: you have to sign more papers. Maybe you prefer to avoid people to finish your work in time.
Look to your weapon, it glows when some people is near.

You can play and rate -> here <-

This is my first real attempt at Twine ~~and I made it in 5 hours on Monday~~, so feel free to give me feedback!
We have had some great feedback and comments. While I wish we had completed AI in time so that solo people would have something to play the original concept was a that of a genre which is dying, the couch co-op game.
When I insult someone's mother I want them sitting next to me and following it up with a punch to my shoulder or a witty retort.
That being said, thank you to everyone that played, rated, and or left a comment. Your feedback fuels our further progress into what could be a full game eventually. If you haven't had a chance, check out our game in the link below. Grab a controller, or better yet 2, a friend and play some Unicorn Fart Jam. Then rate and leave us a comment whether you liked the game or not.
We are having a blast playing all the rest of your submissions and seeing all the great games people made in an insane 48-72 hours! Great job everyone!

Yesterday i publish my entry for LD40 "Greedy Robot Fight" https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/greedy-robot-fight and now i will tell you about the problems and goals i had for this game!
Sorry for my bad english, i am not a native speaker
Find a idea to this theme was very hard the first thing i think was about making a job, delivery or something like that, but i didn't figure how to make it, then i start writting new ideas:
First Problem: Screen Resolution
For the game i am developing in Love2D "Shadow Screams" https://itch.io/t/142891/shadow-screams-temp-name-stealth-multiplayer-1vs3-horror i fix this problem by using a camera that moves with player, and shows more map in higher resolution, but for this project a camera its not what i need, then i search in the Love2D to see if somebody found a solution for screen resolutions and i found this life saver that use a native resolution and then scale it properly using the correct aspect ratio (I make the game resolution square like fidel dungeon rescue) then i make some tests, and everything worked very great!
This was the first floor texture (created with tilemancer): https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rodel77/LD40/e6ac1868573aed1e76f2359f3bd291b601dc3731/assets/atlas.png

Part 2: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/greedy-robot-fight/greedy-robot-fight-post-mortem-part-2
Hey guys, check out our game called Conthrow, a 2 to 4 players competitive. You have just one objective, transform all enemy you can in allied, but how? Simple! You just throw a knife on a enemy!
OK, try it now! Call some friends and play Conthrow!

We are Brazilian students, and some feedback will be really great, thanks to all
Yesterday I was so tired all I could do when I arrived from work was to drop dead on the sofa, so I couldn't really promote the game beyond friends and family until now (also, there were some nasty issues with the controls that forced me to make a bugfix release tonight). Enter Mountain Diver!
:snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake:

:snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake::snowflake:
Your goal is to glide down the mountain, get crystals and climb all the way back to the goal carrying at least a set amount. There is a catch, though :)
As usual, there were some many things I couldn't implement in time, and there are so many other that I'd like to polish. Anyway, I'll leave that for the postmortem, now it's bedtime here. If you play it, feel free to drop me a line.

Our game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/cursed-knight
It has been a lot fun to develop this game. However, we couldn't make everything we wanted for the game (e.g. this skeleton on the gif).

It was also very hard to finish on time, because unity started to crash everytime in the last day, when we was fixing all the bugs...
So we did our best to make the best playable version on time.
As we are a very new and recent team, it means a lot to us your feedback!
Thanks!!
Have a nice play on our game!

Part 1: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/greedy-robot-fight/greedy-robot-fight-post-mortem
And now its the time to create the AI (Bad Bot Movement), i had the idea to create a full features AI, that can be offensive (Shoot to the player), and defensive too (Hide if the player can attack), but for time reasons it just rush the player
Basic checkingWhen its the bad bot turn, it first check if can attack you, then send the attack, otherwise it search for a movements
Searching for a movementThe AI has to search a tile where it can use the laser to damage the player, then i make this:

This make the same as the laser attack, but instead of attack it calculate the distance between the tile and the bot, as you can see the "Near Tile" says 1, and the other tiles are 3-2 tiles far, ok now we know the quick way to attack player, now lest move the bot there!!! ...but how?
Path FindingThere is another life saver lib "Jumper" https://github.com/Yonaba/Jumper its a PathFinding library, super easy to setup very fast, and lightweight
Then i simply generate a path from the bot to the nearest tile, make a move check it can attack and otherwise continue moving until can attack
This is probably one of the coolest things i ever do, i feel done when the bot starts moving in the first turn =D
I record a video and yay! Its uploaded, now lets review the first bugs
The first bug was that the levels save the player and bot position, and sometimes that break walls, or other things, very strange but after a lot of research i found a solution
SolutionI didn't notice that if you set a table in a variable from another table and then you modify the variable, it change the original table too, then i fix it by making a clone of the original table
I am a bit disappointed about lua, i will try to learn more about it before making another game
Thanks for playing and rate my game, cya in LD41

Play The Will of the Wisps here
I thought I’d write a bit to add to Adam’s piece about the development of the music and audio for The Will of the Wisps. This was a wonderful project to work on, and I’m hoping you all will like it as much as we have.
The ConceptMusic is always a tricky goal for a game jam -- like a game’s concept, it can be hard to guess how long it will take to nail down a musical idea. With that in mind, I started early this time, and began playing with musical themes toward the end of the first night, once we had the rough idea of our story in mind. It was roughly a 3 day process from there, as I revised, arranged (and rearranged) the parts, and (the most difficult part), divided up the different instruments to be able to be faded in and out dynamically, as things in the game change.

The game is a dark and spooky journey through a haunted forest, full of dangers both hidden and visible, and it was important that the music help create the mood to match the our artist's gorgeous visual world, and to help convey a sense of interaction with it.
The CompositionIn total, the game’s main theme is divided into 5 tracks that each play for the full duration of the song (roughly 2:30). The main melody follows a piano, a small string quartet, and a few other instruments as accompaniment, which play throughout. Overtop of these, there are:
These all layer together as one song in the editor, which I then mixed down individually and balanced to be able to fade in and out dynamically, without hurting the overall mix. (Or, at least, that was the goal. I’m terrible at mixing, so….)
Making it InteractiveThe technical side of that works through a Unity script I wrote to basically play and loop all five of these at once, setting the volume down on the “dynamic” four tracks, and then allowing scripted events in the main game code to kick off co-routines that would either fade in, hold, and fade out these tracks, or selectively set their volume to a particular value. (We used the latter to swell the “danger” tracks to particular volumes that correspond to your character’s proximity to, well, danger.)
The ToolsThe music itself was written in Cubase, with instruments from both the Native Instruments Komplete set (their various synthesizers also providing the excellent creepy sound effects, in the form of some truly terrifying synths within its Absynth library), and Symphony Series. I also used a few instruments from CineSamples (the solo strings and handbells) and SoundIron (the harp).
I've been writing music for years, but each of these tools was new to me for this jam, so it was a great chance to dive into them and learn them within the context of a project. The dynamic/interactive audio work was all done in Unity.
I would truly love your feedback, so please do let me know if you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions! Thanks for reading this, and, more importantly, thanks for trying our game!

As usual I will be playing your jam games live on my Twitch. The thing I find most fun about streaming jam games is the chance to interact with the developers of a game live and get some insight into how the game was made.
If you would like to see your game played stop by my Twitch channel and type !addgame followed by a link to your game and it will be added to the queue. If the queue is full don't worry because slots will open up as I go down the list!
Hello again! As we reached position 76 in the graded category, I want to share some of our early design concepts with you! If you want to play before reading this, head over to our Ludum Dare page!
My team spent an hour and a half in our living room bouncing ideas off each other when eventually Sam (@cool-summit) came up with the idea of a SHMUP that ends with a twist. We decided to commit to that and so I grabbed the printer paper!

Top-left: Getting the basic design down. This was seconds after I grabbed the paper, and wow, does it look bare bones. The concept of the ornament is can be seen with that filled in circle up top. No enemy types were designed yet either so I just drew circles to represent them.
Top-right: Paper concept for the formation of our final boss. I won't spoil too much, but you'll notice this is pretty similar to what's in the game right now ;)
Bottom-left: Our original concept for our "final boss". Instead of a classic SHMUP one like we have now, it was instead going to be a Space Invaders clone. Though it still had the similar mechanic we have in the released boss.
Bottom-right: My original design notes for the enemy types! I actually didn't get to program for around 10 hours on Saturday (12:30ish pm to 10:30ish), so I instead designed everything on my phone's notepad. I remember writing these (and thinking up the funny names) on a bus ride to a radio museum haha.

A little bonus, even if it doesn't have much to do with design. This is a sneak peak on how I tested bugs with the angels and boss. Since every trapped angel spawned in 4 seconds (instead of the normal 120), I could grab them all right before I got to the boss!

And here it is finished :)
Make sure to give it a play over at our Ludum Dare page. Help us climb to the summit of the Jam tree!
About 30 hours passed since @eriklez92, @muzigpuzig and me entered our submission for the very first Ludum Dare & very first Gamejam we ever participated in and we already got 20+ Ratings and lots of constructive comments.
You really couldn't wish for a warmer welcoming to this great community full of cool human beings. Thanks everyone! We're really looking forward to play more great games through the rest of the month. =)
Harvest as many souls as possible, and don’t let your love and mercy hold your back!
This is my tenth time to attend Ludum Dare. Hope that everyone will enjoy my game :)

I got a late start to the jam, but my partner and I managed to bang out a racing game with two tracks and music within 29 hours. It was our first LD, and both his first game and jam, but we somehow managed to make it in time for the Compo! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/coin-racer

I look forward to playing many of everyone's games, and hope you all do the same!

Ain't that tempting ?

There's no limit to how many tentacles you can have. I recorded a gameplay video (200% speed), by the end it would seem I have around 14 of them, but it gets hard to distinguish! My keyboard is quite crappy, and as you have to hold letter keys to grab, keyboard ghosting can be a problem... but see for yourself, you can still get pretty far:
https://youtu.be/sGopyaaBkjk
I was wondering if updating the tutorial of a Compo entry is breaking rules? I fear people with the current tutorial wont grasp the concepts and wont play the main game. Adding a couple of popup windows explaining some concepts would solve alot of the issues with it.
It's simple. :raisedhands:
Bandits want to live blithely but don't want to work hard. :cowboy:

Hello-hello!
This Ludum Dare is a lot of fun and we truly enjoy playing other games and talking to participants. Everybody so friendly and nice!
So we decided to make a little present for ya.
Through this link, you can LISTEN and even DOWNLOAD our main theme!
Enjoy! And if you still didn't played our game, here is a link to it!
You play as a jetpack miner, who gets paid to find ores, but it costs you to mine the stones in money! So you have to mine more ores to keep profit, but not too many stones haha! The more stones you have at the end(it tally's them up) the smaller your profit is that you take home! Try to get the most money :) Have Fun! Don't forget to leave some feedback and rate, I would love to hear from you! This is my first game jam, I like all the feedback :p

No downloading, just an html5 embeded game to play!
My second LD, but the first I have tried with a group of students in my class (I am a teacher). We planned on 8 levels each with its own target, but ended up with 4 and just one old, wheelchair bound bunny to find.
My students are pumped and this may be the beginning of an annual event for my site, we will see. Either way, time to rest, recuperate, and play a ton of LD games.
I was really bummed when I first submitted my game here because I knew it was pretty bad, especially since it was my first time ever really trying to make something in C#/Unity.
But, seeing all the kind messages from people, instead of feeling discouraged and like I should never touch code again, I feel inspired to try even harder next time!
Thank you everyone for your kind words! I'll make sure to try do a better job next time!
Just 8 more to go!
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/crystallone-false-stars Please give me harsh feedback! Tear it and my ideas to shreds.
Unfortunately the web version does not export properly (I guess because of the shader I wrote).
I hope you will still download and enjoy it.
Also I noticed that after sleeping a day this game is super hard :-D
I was able to beat it again, but I would love to hear in the comments if someone else succeeded.
Btw. nice work everyone!

Runaway Magic has been updated to v1.02! It now will work on Mac and Linux systems (if not please let me know!) and I fixed a few eronius bugs. Also red mushrooms now actually give you health!
Still working on that WebGL port.
Cheerio and thank you to everyone who's played my game so far!

Hey, we made this turn based snake-like game with Godot for the Jam. It's like the classic game snake but you have to plan ahead with a limited hand of available moves each turn. Grab apples for points and avoid hitting the map edges or yourself!
Downloads on itch

We also have score submission so you can check how you stack up against other players on the online leadboard here. Thanks for checking it out!

I have some questions!
What's the rules on updating after the jam is completed? I made some drug models for the game and plan on adding them in the next build. Would an HTML5 build get more people to try it out real fast and give ratings?

With Mallio Cart, my combo (but not compo, because I always jam!) streak has increased to eleven! 😎
Thanks to everyone for being such a cool community making so many cool games! 💚

I was just wondering, how long has everyone been doing games? Are you fresh and new to making games, or a veteran? Is this your first ludum dare/game jam?
Have you ever wanted to go searching through the stars, whilst blowing up pirates? Come play our game!

As I am using Linux (and wine does not help me everytime) I'd like to ask you: Comment if your game is working on Linux or if there is a browser version of it. Or if you have stumbled upon something that meets these requirements. It would help me so much in this jungle of games.
(Or did I miss something to sort by platform?)
Our entry for the ludum dare 40 is a relaxing fishing game ! Give it a try !

Some of my fondest memories are from doing game jams. This weekend was no different.
My team started the jam with a good 2 hour brainstorm before settling on an idea. We threw around some really out there ideas. One that really sticks out in my memory was using twitter's API to turn the player's twitter followers into zombies who are intent on eating our hero. We eventually settled on a making a game featuring a platforming robot with modular upgrades.
Once we had our idea we split up the work, @riker-greenslade started building the AI for our three enemy types, @tim-six was started writing demo music tracks getting feedback from the team after each iteration, @graham-wiebe started designing beautiful characters, enemies and environments, and I started building our player controller.
Some of @graham-wiebe's concept art from Friday
A Friday texture/shader test on a cube
Saturday some assets were starting to show up in game. @graham-wiebe somehow managed to get all of our animations except dashing done on this day plus a ton of custom shader work in Unity and other miscellaneous assets. @riker-greenslade continued powering through a ton of the games core logic, @tim-six continued iterating on our audio, and I continued iterating on the character controller
*A Saturday proof of concept of the rendering pipeline and asset arrangements put together by @graham-wiebe
@graham-wiebe excitedly shared this gif with us on Saturday after completing the walk animation
*A first look at our hero posed as he would appear in game from Saturday
@tim-six also streamed a fair bit on Saturday. Here's a clip of him working on the main track in the game
Sunday was a lot of assembling the pieces. @graham-wiebe constructed our animation tree which I connected to our player controller. @riker-greenslade connected menus, added pretty much every condition trigger and pretty much everything else I was going to forget to add. @ratstache who we've worked with in the past was free on Sunday so he dropped in and helped us out with some scripting and testing as well. @tim-six continued working on music and sound effects.
I know, code isn't sexy but this game is as functional as it is in no small part to @riker-greenslade's excellent and fast coding skills so I had to give him a shout out. I don't know why he shared this screen shot with us but it was something he was working on on Sunday
Monday most of us went back to work. @graham-wiebe, @ratstache, and myself went back to our day jobs. @riker-greenslade and @tim-six luckily had some time available and add some final polish, play testing, and sound effects.
I think we all had a lot of fun. Every time I participate in a game jam I sort of go on withdrawal after. None of us make games for a day job but it's nice to take a few weekends a year and just go nuts. If you made it this far thanks for reading.
Be sure to check out @tim-six's sound cloud
