I'm in for the merry Christmas LD43 event extravaganza!

Looking for people interested into making games/surreal or fun, weird or moral

Hello I am Hamsterspit a game enthusiast, 3d artist, bicyclist and metaphorical philanthropist that is looking for programmers, artists, animators that want me as a team member or would like to make a team to work on games. You can check my 3d stuff here: https://www.artstation.com/hamsterspit I am also looking for a job! monkey.png

We are in!

We are super excited to participate in our second Ludum Dare jam :D ,Let's hope there will be a good theme this time...(but i have to admit that the LD 41 theme was pretty good)

I'm in!

Ah, the first ground frost and heavy snow finally came to our city! You all know what it means, right? It's about time for the last winter Ludum Dare.

This one is going to be special for me, because, sadly, my old friend @komnotmr won't be around to participate (he does his military service). So, I have to find the team real quick, before the theme is announced. And I have a plan for it. =)

The tools didn't change: still using vim to write JavaScript code (JS sucks, but everything else I tried is even worse). Still GIMP-ing my way through pixels and using whatever I find to make sound, given there will be enough time for it.

And, thanks to GameDevNSK team, we have a local event again! This means, if somehow you find yourself in Novosibirsk during the jam, you definitely should visit Technopark because that's where the real jammers are jamming from! =D

Have fun! Let's make some games and may the theme be nice! =)

Anyone wanna be a team?

I'm kind of a noob but I'm interested in making games! Any other noobs out there who would like to join me? I mainly use unity and if you're interested please hit me up!

I'm in!

This will be my third time participating in Ludum Dare. I've got more used to working on a project over a longer period of time in one day, so this time I think I'm going to make an even BETTER game!

As always I wish you all good luck and I hope you will all have a good time

A list of tools I will use: - Unity (Game Engine) - Microsoft Visual Studio (Programming) - Paint.net (Textures & Images) - Headset Microphone (Sound) - FL Studio & Bosca Ceoil (Music) - Phone Camera (Pictures)

I'm in, I guess

I don't actually know if there's a right place to post this, but I really want to ask for some feedback.

I'm currently working on the game which is heavily story-based. I mean, I came up with some kind of world theory idea, which I find quite interesing. But the problem with those kinds of things is, you can't spill this idea right away, it would spoil the enjoyment of discovering it. So I decided it worth putting some exciting mechanic to the game too.

So I worked for couple of months in my spare time, trying my best to carefuly build a core for my game. I spent most of the time building a state machine which reproducing StreetOfRage/Golden_Axe-like behaviour (well, with some assumptions of course), and sketching sprites. But as you can see on the video below, it doesn't look like it would be something satisfing, it doesn't look like something worth playing.

Well of course, there's only one enemy in this quite small test room, and only one, mostly meaningless string of dialogue, but I don't think adding more enemies of this type would make any actual difference. I was thinking about adding Doom-like finishing moves, but didn't implemented it yet.

Well, yeah, it's only a techincal demo, but I want to make it worth developing further. So I really want to ask you for some advice:

What would you think make gameplay more interesing? Should I add more enemy types with different mechanics? If so, can you suggest a mechanic? Maybe I should stop for the moment and work on the graphics?

I'm all open for the dialogue.

I'm in!!!!!

I cannot wait for the 43rd!!! I will post more details on the programs, Im, using and like I proper you know - "I'm in!" post when we get closer!

Geta Game Jam 6!!

Hello everyone!

Geta Game Jam 6 is a jam that occurs between January 5th and January 8th!

We'd love to see you join!

Check out the jam page?

Question on Statistics

signups.jpg

Does 325 signups mean 325 new accounts and therefore, 325 brand new participants? If so it would seem we are cycling through jammers really fast since the signups number is always fairly close to the unique authors number.

LD43

I am excited for the coming event!

I'm in!

I think I am going to the Dark Side (Unity3D) for this one, and I am excited to try my first solo Unity game! It's a bit of a change from JMonkeyEngine / Blender Game Engine, but I'd like to see where it goes. Let's do this!

Oh, one more thing. Any of you Jammers out there interested in seeing a game As Gaeilge? I'm hoping to make a language pack system so I can make the game both in Irish and English.

LD43!

It appears that LD43 is only 19 days away. I am not sure whether or not I will even be able to participate yet , but if so I will probably end up doing the Jam again :zap:

As was reflected in the results of the last Ludum Dare, audio and game design/balance were my strong points, while I performed rather badly in graphics and feel (humor, mood).

Once again, I will probably be using Godot, FL Studio, and Gimp/Krita/Inkscape?

If someone else actually knows how to make graphics :confounded: and wants to work as a team, please say so.

I'm in... it's been a while!

suggestions_0.JPG

Hey all! In for LD43 - first time I've had time to seriously do one of these since I first laid hands on Unity. Hoping to get some practice in ahead of time.

I'm open to suggestions on my themes. Admittedly I didn't get the chance to give them a whole ton of thought.

Planning to use Unity and most likely pdn and audacity - possibly a little blender but I'm not hugely expert with that.

Wish me luck - looking forward to making a game with you all!

My suggestions

Untitled.png Excited for my first Ludum Dare, my themes are quite random tbh but in my mind, I felt a lot could be done with them.

Theme ideas

  1. Cross between dimensions
  2. Real vs fake
  3. Compadabilty

I think I'm in... :)

I think I’m in again for LD 43. Hopefully will get me back in the groove of programming more. Let’s do this! :)

Hey guys...

long time no see and here we are... time goes by, i thought the 43th will be a long wait but nope, btw WE'RE IN BOIS!
