LD 41 April 20–23, 2018

I might or might not be in

Hey guys!

This Ludum Dare I can't certainly say if I will participate, seeing as my final exams are on the following Wednesday after the Event. But who knows! If the theme is extremely attractive to me, I might just use the Ludum Dare as some form of relaxation. :D

If I join in, I'll probably use a standard toolbox of things: - Unity3D or Godot or PhaserJs - PyxelEdit, Photoshop, Blender for everything graphics related - FL Studio, Audacity for audio stuff - Visual Studio, vim and Visual Studio Code for code stuff - Git (and GitHub) for version control

I'm probably in. Definitely.

I'm going to try my best to find time to make a game this weekend. I'm pretty excited, this being my first game jam in a while.

If I do end up participating, I'll probably be employing a basic toolkit of * Löve * Brackets * PyxelEdit * Bosca Ceoil * GitHub

Even if I don't submit anything, I'll be sure to check out how everyone does, so good luck everyone!

Lets go!

After having to quit college for personal reason im eager to start making games again! But this time probably solo. I might have stopped going to school but making games will always be part of my life. Im going in with the full 110%!

41 Here we Come!

Heya!

I'll be taking part in Jam 41 this coming weekend. Myself and @Dozabro attempted the last jam and failed miserably, so here's to hoping that this jam goes a lot better.

Mr.Doza may or may not be able to participate due to school, but I will be spending my full weekend on the project! There will most likely be some close friends and family jumping in and out of the project as well over the weekend (Lots of creative people~).

I will be writing my game in pure HMTL and ES6 JS (I have been writing an engine of my own over the past little bit) or Love2D if things go south. If it is just myself, I will most likely be doing my art in Illustrator, but if @Dozabro is able to join this may become an Aesprite thing. I will also be getting some help from my younger sister, who will be doing music with just a piano, Garageband, and a pocket full of love.

I look forward to seeing what we can make! These jams are a ton of fun and I hope that I can leave this one with a finished game!

Here I go - Ludum Dare 41!

Hello everyone!

This is my second Ludum Dare. I haven't done game development in a while, so I hope that I still remember how to do it :grinning:

I will use the following software:

  • Unity 2017.3.1
  • Visual Studio Code - I recently discovered this application and I absolutely love it!
  • GIMP 2.8.22
  • Adobe Photoshop CS6
  • Audacity 2.1.3
  • Blender 3D 2.78
  • Adobe After Effects CS6 (possibly)

I believe that's all, but something may change depending on the theme and ideas.

I do hope that I will be able to finish my game before the deadline, since last time I almost didn't make it

Certainly Ludum Dare will be a great experience!

HYPE TRAIN

This is it guys less than a week away, I could not be more excited! This is my 5th LD Jam and I hope on completely blowing it out of the water! Good luck to everyone and remember to get some sleep!

My name is Mo. I'm fairly new to game development and I'm excited about LD41. I've participated in a few game jams hosted on itch.io but never completed a game over a weekend. I'm looking forward to this challenge 😀

I will be using:

I'm in!

Have not done a jam since LD38 but it seems like a good time to get back into it! Having some trouble assembling my team, but will make something no matter what!!

Best laid plans...

How can this keep happening? Real life has, yet again, conspired against me and guaranteed that I won't have access to my desktop during the weekend. This must be, what, third time in a row?

However! I won't give up so easily this time. I'm going to spend copious amounts of time in public transportation and couchsurfing while the jam is happening, so I at least have a chance of participating. Thus, the final tools I'm going to use: - My smartphone - My tablet - A notebook

I have no idea if I'm going to finish anything, but gosh darnit I'll do my best! Both Twine and Bitsy seem to work fine on Android, any other tips for game dev on the go?

Teams creation

Hey how do we create a team on here exactly?

Just Something I Realised...

sh*t i have school and will miss most of the competition. what do I do?

I'm In!

I've participated in LD for the past 4 events in a row and have had a lot of fun doing it. I've never ranked very well, but maybe that can change this time 😄. Also, I've said this every time, but it would be cool if I finished in time to submit to the compo instead of the jam this time. I'll be using Unity 2017, Photoshop, bfxr, Audacity, and Blender depending on whether my game is 2D or 3D. Good luck and have fun everyone!

It's not a failure if you learn from it

what are some things you've done wrong in past jams that you've learned from?

For me, its that I waste a lot of time fidgeting with things that already work, and I also spend too much time planning things.

Come to think of it, I guess just budgeting time in general... hm.

*Sigh*

I wonder if the same guy suggested both of those...
Can we all agree that that's technically what a video game is? Since the player remains in the center of the screen you are technically controlling the world around him...
Ah, well. We could make cool weather cycle games.
