First LD!
Using Unity, Blender and Reaper. Still trying to think of a good idea, but hopefully I'll have something to submit in time for the compo.

I've created my game source code by copying my last game and deleting all the non-"engine" parts. This means that once again I am faced with the conundrum of having a game written with POSIX APIs that nonetheless only compiles on Windows.
I'm two hours in and have absolutely no ideas for the theme. Or, at least, no ideas that I think I can reasonably implement...
I had one involving bubbles, so to speak, but I believe the physics would be pretty difficult to get working right.
So I already decided on the game concept and developed it a bit, I think it'll work fine :D
Now it's time to get a well deserved sleep, and keep the wheel spinning tomorrow!

So I've got an idea but I don't think it's that big or innovative. Curious what everyone's thoughts are about doing something new vs doing something polished...
So for my first Ludum Dare and first game that I'll actually complete, I decided to make a clone of the game Snake, but instead of your tail growing, the map shrinks! I know it's not super clever, but I wanted to start with something small and simple.
My idea so far: Writing a clicker game, where you have to write code. Each click is a line of code and by buying upgrades (hard- and software, food) you can increase your output and write better and faster code.
As I'm using a C64 (or at least CBMprgStudio and an emulator) and I will use BASIC, the theme might be fitting more than I like. Running out of RAM space could become a problem. ;)
The starting idea is to make kind of a block programming game where you control a small robot with a gun. But you only have a small grid for memory and you have to solve every level within that space.
Also if the robot dies some memory segments will get damaged and be no longer usable.

After a good first two hours of getting used to Unity and being pissed at it's 2D system, I have an idea that I'll hopefully be able to expand on tomorrow. For now, I'm going to bed, good night fellow jammers!
As usual, the theme sucks. womp womp...
Conspiracy theories? A hacker, detected? 100 seconds to get proof?
So my game idea is you control a robot and you have to shoot enemies on a ever shrinking platform. The goal is to survive as long as possible.

Finished my start screen, made with only html and css!
dunno about the theme (i say this every time lol) and i work all weekend, but i'm gonna try to make a lil somethin~!
using the same codebase/tools as always!! look up my previous posts for all that stuff!! i'm already runnin late for ludum dareeeeee~~~
(good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!)
I just got home from a birthday party of my friends but I am excited to get to work on my game. I have already decided my idea and just got up my game engine! Good luck to my fellow jammers!

Starting to come along better now, building initial maze and imported in robot player character (purchased from asset store)

I have the basic idea for my game: you are in a pit/well and people are dropping different types of boxes from above. Some can be picked up and placed down, others moved sideways, while some are not moveable by the player. By getting higher or getting chests (still need to decide), the player will get upgrades to help him out. The goal is to get as high as possable without being squashed by the boxes.
For today, I managed to get a quick player controller working with standard unity sprites.
I wish ludum dare was more europe friendly with the times though, I have so much I want to do but the energy is draining quick at 2:30 am :P
Quitting for the day, will be back at it tomorrow, for now good luck everyone with your projects :D
