Hey! My Ludum Dare game takes place on a desktop screen infected with adware, yikes! The ads slowly take up more and more of the screen if the player cannot close them in time.
In my game there are apps in the background, and I would like to name some of the apps based on some of your games! You can comment the name on this post or on my twitch :)

Hi Guys, First time doing a LD properly, so let's dooooo this! Bit of a slow start, was out last night when the theme came out and had a house viewing this morning (GMT)
But I have a good idea now, and the basics of movement and a Tractor Beam!
Will be doing all the art on Aesprite and the making in Unity (Csharp)
best of luck to you all :)

This is going to bee a great Ludum Dare!

I switched from Unity to Unreal Engine, and I figured that LD42 would be a good place to get better at using the Engine. Now, i've run into a problem that the internet doesn't have a solution for. ;-;
I didn't like the theme at first but now i'm enjoying this quite a lot
Ok, I finished the work and grocery-shopping I had to do for the weekend and will now start to make a game.
It will be a competitive game (probably with Local Multiplayer and "KI") with a playfield getting smaller until the last man is standing - similar to that Amiga-game I remembered. But I have quite some ideas that will add some spice to it - I hope I'll be able to implement those without messing up my sleep schedule ;)
This time around I will focus on the stuff where I know what I am doing, so I will: - Don't put much effort into graphics as it will look crappy anyways - Try some strange stuff for sound using my microphone
I also learned from the last time to: - Don't make the game too hard in the beginning - Take more time to polish the game mechanics instead of putting more features or levels in it
The Toolset will be: - Godot Engine 3 - As I want to try the C#-features from Godot Engine I'll try out if I can make use of Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code - Bfxr - Maybe Aseprite - Maybe some other audio tool to experiment with the voice samples I'll record - Windows Audio Recorder xD
P.S.: Funny how this old 2D-top-down-game on the Amiga is what actual Battle Royale-games are in its essence.
I took me very long to come up with an idea for the theme, but I finally decided on one a few hours ago and now have the first sprites and a tiny bit of gameplay.

Struggled a while with getting a game concept that I would enjoy implementing. But I finally got one!

You are the manager of some unnamed trash landfill in the year 2042. Getting rid of trash and waste has evolved into some kind of hobby or even sports for a lot of people, the reason why that phenomenon even happened is still not known to scientists. The landfill business is blooming, but you only have so much space on your property. Your goal is to serve the masses of customers wanting to bring their trash to your landfill. Rake in cash from them by taking their recycable trash, biological waste and properly deny the taking of toxic or even illegal waste. Manage your trash storage and process recycable trash to prevent space shortage and ultimately running out of business.

So far I've done not that much, did some shitty pixel tiles and sprites and got a simple character controller going, which I still need to improve. But here's a short GIF of what I've done so far!

As work in Unity continues I'd like to share some concept that were created by out talented artist:

In this post, I mentioned a game where you pressed the spacebar to perform actions and had a limited amount of presses allowed. I was worried about rebindable controls, but I figured out a solution.
In my game, you will control a robot using an old (in-game) keyboard. The keyboard is so old the spacebar button is breaking down. Unfortunately, the spacebar also happens to activate the robot's important functions. So press it too many times and it will fall off. By default, you'll be pressing the spacebar on your real keyboard in order to press it on the in-game keyboard, but even if you rebind the control, the in-game character is still pressing the spacebar so it still counts. Or at least, I hope it counts.
Our hero was stuck in the new-fashioned gaming console "SpaceBox"!
What do you think, what will he do next? :)
One of the bases of the game has already been done, now do the rest

In my game, their is a black tile and it gets smaller every 1 second. It takes 10 seconds for it to disapear. There is a small circle on the black tile and I need to stand on it to complete the mission. But what if I add some zombies, shooting , and make the space get smaller slower.
I’m trying to call a function from another actor in an OnHit function (c++), but OtherActor returns an AActor, not the class in which the function is located, AData (or a subclass of it).
I haven't found any solution on the Internet, so i'm turning here for help.

So, the plan is simple...

really small navigation system , ready to have hundreds of them
