We came to an agreement for our final character design, now i can start thinking about environnements and animations. Real fun begins now !
Name not final ahah

Me and my housemate decided to throw in on a whim. We're making a little explorey-puzzley adventure game, which should hopefully be ready in time. We're using Game Maker, Paint.net, Graphics Gale, and who knows what for audio. It's all a bit crazy. First time for him, first time in ages for me. Looking forward to having a finished game! :D

Under the rules section it states that the compo games must be created entirely from scratch. But it also says you can use any base code you may. I wrote a basic 2D movement script with basic collision a few weeks ago (consisting of 170 lines), can I use this?

I got something done. I can walk around with working collisions and I got a working battery in the game!

Lets try make some noooooooise!!@

I told myself, "This year I'll focus on gameplay, not graphics", but I forgot that pretty soon, and then I realized I'm not good at making hi-res graphics. Once again I had made something ugly as hell.
So here's a video of the failure of this year:

Not worth finishing. Maybe next time.

Basic movement, shooting, physics, energy.
I woke up about 11 hours ago and I think I've done a lot so far. I think I have enough graphics for basic gameplay, some sound effects and some platformer/shooter mechanics. Here's my progress:

Before the next project I have to read some tutorials on how to keep the code clean and easy to manage. It's getting really messy... And I can't concentrate. Maybe I'm too happy with my progress, maybe I'm just oo tired.

Trying to make another narrative experience this time
Decided use to lamps and butterflys it's flys up to. We will be cute and a little creepy

Hi, this is my first ludum dare event ever, so let's do this! I am going to use C++, SDL2 and my little framework for it. Also I'll probably use Audacity and Famitracker. Graphics will be made in paint.net or similar software. I'll compile my project using gcc (5.1.0) compiler for windows. Cross the fingers!
I finally have something playable. I'll try to finish up the core of the game today (which is +/- complete) and tomorrow I'll work on graphics and sounds. I hope that I won't follow my last game jam where i didn't put any sounds or music because of the lack of time. I'll definitely won't forget sounds this time. Anyways, the idea of this game is to collect all of the gold nuggets, while enemy/enemies (currently a bat) chases you and if that's not enough, you can run out of power! The game is turn based. Every turn takes away a battery. If you run out of them, the screen goes dark, but the game continues. You can light back the screen again by collecting batteries. I expect to make at least 10 levels. They will require some logical thinking to complete. Hope you like it

Looks great...
Hi folks! First update post for this Ludum Dare. The objective of this Ludum Dare for me is to create a small easy mobile game and publish it on a store during the event. This is the first mockup:

Some sort of a match-three game (with a different mechanic) where you have to compose coffees for tired customers (maybe they are running out of power?). Now is time to start up Unity!
Im about to begin, hopefully I wont give up

Meet our heroine the mermaid! Still don't know how to call her though :D
