LD 44 April 26–29, 2019

Stop it with the trash themes

Stop it with the "limited time" themes (you have only 30/10/20 seconds) its really annoying and with the "limited control" (only two buttons) i see theese themes everywhere use your brain please and come up with something that wasn't here before ok ? Screenshot_160.png

Oh yea and I'm in unless one of those trash themes win :)

I'm in!

I'm in for the second time, COMPO! I will be using: - Unity C# - Photofiltre | Aseprite | Blender - Musescore2 & Audacity - Philips Senseo Original HD6554/10 White (a lot)

I'm not so thrilled with the themes for now (6 greens) but I can't wait to start working on it! And if I don't like the final theme, I will try to give it a whatthefuckish interpretation and have fun with it anyway!

Good luck to all, and most importantly, have fun!

I'm in for LD#44

It's been some time since I last participated in a Ludum Dare, so I guess, it's time to jam again!

I'll join the compo and create a game using Dart as a language.

My first Ludum Dare!

After Many months of a friend trying to push me for multiple game jams I am now officially excited for my first ever Ld jam!

First timer here.

Always wanted to participate in a gamejam, but I always chicken out in the last minute. This time I will try to stick to my guns and create something.

I'm using Gamemaker Studio 2, Photoshop, Aseprite, Magix Music Maker and Audacity.

We're in!

I, and a friend (Zanguy), will participate in this LD.

We are both software developers but I will try to only make programmer's art this time (I want to make people's eyes bleed :smiling_imp: ). My friend will be in charge of gameplay programming (maybe I'll give some help). We will eventually have the help of two friends making music.

Our tech stack:

  • Programming: Haxe & HaxeFlixel (with VSCode).
  • Pixel Smashing (not art): Pixaki (I use an iPad with an Apple pencil).
  • Sound: Guitar/Piano with a music editing software like Garage Band or equivalent.

We already tried to participate to some Game Jam but we always end with some problems like a strange behavior of our VCS that fucked up our project or a relative which had some problems and need assistance...

We're impatient to see how we will fail this time! :smile_cat:

I'm in!

Since Summer 2017 i am in for making a game.

Beside the jam there could be some time issue this weekend. One time thing is - i MUST see Avengers Endgame :D

But besides this i am moving my location so there is a bunch of preperation. As i know when Ludum Dare comes i am still plan to make a game.

I am not sure it will be good or great but i hope it will be one. The last two james i participate was Brakeys Jam and Dreamhack some weeks ago.

The games wasn't bad but had some weired issues.

My Setup for this Jam:

  • Engine: Unity 2019.1
  • Graphic: Aseprite , Photoshop
  • Audio: Beepbox was really great last time, maybe Famitracker will be my friend too and Bfxr.
  • Concept: Notepad++ for my Planning

I'm in.

Trying this again. 3rd time lucky? Want to actual finish this time, if only so I can vote on the games I like! Using aseprite and pico8.

First Time!

I'm in. It's my first time! I'm participating alone and I'll try to focus on game design first, with art and sound as an afterthought. I'll be using Unity, Photoshop, Blender, sfxr and Cubase Lite.

Have fun, everyone! :D

I'm in for the second time

My first time was LD42 and it was a great experience, so I'm excited to participate again!

I'll be using Unity and my own Unity plugin RetroKit to create the graphics, sounds and music.

I'm trying for the COMPO again, but if it doesn't work out, I may end up submitting for the JAM instead.

I'm in, after a long absense.

Hi, I'm Hunter X. I participated in Ludum Dares 31, 32 and 33, but due to a combination of being busy and just forgetting I haven't participated since then. I've not done much game development work for a while now and I'd like to get back into the swing of things, and it just so happens that I have the entire weekend free, so I figured I'd give this a shot.

Unless anything changes dramatically I'll be working with Unity and C#; expect god-awful placeholder artwork (assuming I get beyond just cubes and cylinders this time :P) and a focus on learning new skills/techniques as I produce my game.

For The Very First Time In GAME JAM

I am excited obviously as of my first game jam but also can't wait to learn some real cool stuffs and make new friends.

I'll be late

I can't take part on time, but still I want to do something.

Sorry if this is a dumb question

I was wondering how do I setup something to have multiple people on my game. I want to make it to where my other programmer and artist can test and rate games too. Am I missing something obvious?

Remember WNS?

If the theme is right, I'm going to attempt to recreate something on the level of my LD42 entry, We Need Space, a game with procedural generation at heart.

Good luck everyone, you'll need it lmao.

Rule n1: Theme always sucks

What is wrong with you guys? Worst themes until now IMO. But I'd like to hear your opinion, so leave it in the comments below.

Its been 2 years since my first ludum dare

Wow. A lot have changed in my personal life since I started participating in the ludum dare. Being able to develop a game in 2 or 3 days definitely helped me in developing or in accomplishing tasks under pressure. Also I used Unity 3D to create an augmented reality research project that would be my entry for the Intel ISEF 2019. Unfortunately I loss at the national research fair. But still an honor to reach the national level for my senior high school research project. And I owe it all to my experience in participating at Ludum Dares.

Good luck to all who will join this year's first Ludum Dare!

We're in!

I'm going to be in a team this time, hope the theme doesn't suck!

Tools:

  • TypeScript;
  • VSCode | VSCodium;
  • Krita;
  • A custom engine (eix).

Note: even though this is a new account, I have participated in multiple LDs in the past.
