Rail

My game is called Rail and in it you are a light blue square that has to help a red ball get to the purple exit. There are switches on the path and you switch them by driving over them. Meanwhile there are enemies that you have to avoid or destroy. I guess I should post something about my game, so here's a gif of me playing it very badly.

rail.gif

In this example I set up some switches right, but then the enemies chased me over them, causing them to switch back, costing me time and lives.

I won't do a postmortem because there isn't much to say. Except that for once I managed to set a reasonable scope - i.e., a game idea that didn't necessitate making large amounts of content right up until the end. In principle, this means I had a slightly more relaxed time and got a bit more time to polish. I have to admit that I still exhausted myself. At one point on the second day I wrote code to rotate a polygon. Because in my stupor I forgot that the HTML canvas already has the feature of drawing things rotated.

Animation week - the +1 post

Finally, it's time for the creatures that inhibit the levels of Led Astray

Unfortunately, we managed to finish those little critters half an hour after the submission sooo the original jam version is dwelled by the... MIGHTY EVIL ONIONS :smiling_imp:

It's Feedback Time on the clock!

Hey there, I'm GK from Kaafi Rookie Games. I've been making games for a long time, probably 12 YEARS now and I believe the feedback sessions are important and fun part of game dev!

I got some free time on my hands, so send in your games to get a detailed feedback!

Send your games here -

https://forms.gle/fxUbwT43XnUkrz7q8

I'm giving feedbacks mainly focusing on the parameters mentioned below.

  • GAME DESIGN : How soon I was able to understand the game and how well it is designed.
  • FUN : How fun the game is and how this effects the game play.
  • INNOVATION : How innovative the game design or mechanic is and how much it is utilized.
  • THEME : This is tricky but how well you incorporated the theme seamlessly into the game!
  • GRAPHICS : I love artwork, I want to see how well the artwork is infused with the game!
  • MOOD : I want to see what kind of mood the game radiating and try to understand what kind of mood you wanted to set!
  • HUMOR : Well this can be interpreted in many ways, I would love to see how you did it in your game (maybe it's the artwork, animation, dialogue, npc's or elsewhere.
  • AUDIO : Would love to see how the audio harmonizes with the game!

ps - The feedback is purely my personal option and would like you to take it with a pinch of salt. I'm no expert, just a rookie who loves making and playing games!

Escape from the time-disordered Android Industry

we've already fixed all bugs we can find, and added two normal endings & one Easter Egg ending to the game, hope you can come back and have a try again, have fun!

Lamps

VH2Sgqn1mfU.jpg

The goal of the game is to rebuild line to include more lamps in it. You have to do it using limited rotations. When you create loop with power source and lamps you get additional rotations if this loop contains more lamps than previous loops. When you run out of the rotations available for you it is a game over.

Controls

  • Arrow keys/mouse movement – select tile to rotate
  • Space/Left mouse button – rotate tile

(Keyboard method is the preferred one, because there is no camera movement when using only mouse, so you would be limited only to current view of the field part)

This was our first participation in the Ludum Dare and it was not an easy ride. Partly because from our team only one person was able to participate in it, so it had been decided to participate in the Compo category. Partly because it was also the first time creating games using C# and Unity.

In the end 48 hours was definitely not enough to create a good game from the scratch without any experience in it.

The resulted game had reduced functionality. Some of it, as an increasing game field is not really important, because we had started with a big field (100x100) from the start. However some other lost functionality was more crucial, as a removing of the "switch" elements, which should have automatically connect wires connected to this element. switches.png Also the game had not QoL functionality, as an indications of connected elements, clear indications of game over or creation of the new loop, zooming in/out etc.

The game had quite a lot of bugs as well, which existed due to the lack of the testing and testing on only one device.

As for the bugs, the most of them had been fixed afterwards (thanks God it is allowed), but all the lost QoL and functionality will probably be implemented long after the end of LD47. So if you really want to see the game with all the planned changes you can star our repository on the GitHub, or subscribe to any of our social media accounts which you can find on our website (the one there the game itself is hosted).

You can play the game, rate it (we still don't have enough ratings) and leave any comments or suggestions on the game entry page, so here is the link again: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/lamps

Please play my game...

I need more feedback and ratings.

My LD game! I'm also playing games to get ratings, so give me links! ◕‿↼

Hi everyone!

Here's my game made in 72h hours for the LDJam. Everything was made for me, so that's why there's no art

The music was also made by me, I'm currently working a little more on it in order to give it a proper release, so (hopefully) download links will come soon! I'm looking forward playing your games as well, so don't forget to leave me some comments!

Praxino... what?

We made a game that takes place in a Praxinoscope, a wonderful device that was used to make animation loops.

Time Lapse Development - Circuitus Infinitus

The time lapse development video for my Ludum Dare 47 game is posted. Probably not my most fun game, but I think it could be made into something more interesting if I spent more time on it. The idea was based on the real life ball machines created by George Rhoads.

Let's Code Review

A while ago, I published a blog post here in the channel if anyone was interested in a Code Review and I have created two Let’s Code Review videos since then. I thought it would be different format than only playing the games. I would be cheerful about some feedback if you find such videos interesting and what I could do to improve the videos.

Played loop frogs yet?

A fun little puzzle game about two froggy friends; one just plodding through life trying to get to the next level, and another with super jumping skills, an interesting relationship with the fourth dimension and a tenuous grip on his own place in the space/time continuum. It's a classic story of friendship.
