Ludum Dare 37 December 9–12, 2016

I’m In The jam

Hello this is my “I’m in”. Normally I program in Java. This time it will be JavaScript.

I’ll be using melonJS as engine.

And Visual Code, I like that to work with.

For the art paint.net works fine by me.

And sound I record myself xD

Good luck everybody!

P.S I hope I’m not late with this :/

I’m Excited!

I have no clue how this will go, but I hope to have fun in these challenges!

I consider myself in.

I haven’t actually finished a game before, but now that I’m posting here, I have to!

An other I’m in post

As my post title say, I will be in for Ludum Dare 37. As usual, I will use C# with monogame and my custom engine to make my game. Good luck to everybody and have fun !

I’m in and am looking for a team.

Hello everyone,

This will be my 5th or 6th Ludum Dare (I don’t remember), and am definitely looking forward to it. I’m also looking to join a team for the jam as a developer. I mostly work with HTML5 and Javascript, but I have finished games before with Unity as well.

If I end up doing the compo, these are the tools that I will be using:

  • Engine: Phaser JS
  • Language: Javascript
  • Audio: BFXR
  • Graphics: Piskel (pixel art)

Good luck everybody, and have fun this Ludum Dare!

I’m In!

My 4-in-row LD. Every time I’m afraid that everything will fail. A little scared to speak publicly on the participation.

-Unity3D
-VS 2015 + R#
-Paint.NET
-Audacity

I’m making a game without violence for mobile platforms. Unpredictable weekend, and then 3 months of slow polishing.

Let’s pick a good theme and come up with a bunch of great games! I am full of premonitions how unusual will be the theme this time.

Good luck to everyone!

I’m in again! Second time.

HYPE!

I’m going to use the same setup as before since it worked well and I didn’t learn any new tricks in the meantime-

Game Maker Studio for programming and graphics (yeah it’s going to be pretty crappy)

Audacity for sound effects

Maschine for music

I can only hope that it will go as well as the first one!

Here’s a gif from my LD36 entry 😀

Don’t fear, I’m slaughtering all the themes here…!

Since my download/upload speeds are both currently at 0.44 Mbps, I feel this is a good time to (instead of doing nothing or playing Mario) site back and slaughter some themes. With the way my internet is, I should be here for a very long time.

Update: I’ve now slaughtered 1,000 themes, and I plan to keep up the pace until voting starts.

Thanks!

Slaughter Sadness

I’ve run into slight lag issues with the theme slaughter, so sometimes I think I haven’t clicked so I try clicking again. It then takes that extra click and applies it to the next one. So I’ve accidentally given themes I thought were pretty awful “Yes” ratings after it catches up, and then there’s no way to change it. I imagine there will be enough people participating to run down these themes, but it’s a bit annoying.

I’m In(after being absent for a few jams…)

This is my I’m in post.  I last participated in LD#31, and actually had an entry there.  I wanted to participate in LD#32 and things happened(work) that didn’t let me do much of anything.  I have a new job and this is the first LD I’ve managed to catch since then.  I’m technically “on call” that weekend but usually I don’t get much as far as phone calls.

Last time, I used Unity for an engine.  I’ve still tinkered with it since then, but have been more focused on Gamemaker Studio(it has good benefits over Unity for 2d games at least for me).  I’m thinking to use GMS this LD, as I’ve never done an LD with it, and with me being more used to it, and the fact that it is generally faster as for as dev time than other engines, I’d like to think I would be able to put out a better game this jam.

I want to make my own music and sounds this time as well.  I’ll likely use bfxr(and some Audacity as needed for editing raw stuff), and LMMS for music(even if it ends up being chip tunes).

I will likely be using Blender to make graphics.  But they would be done as pre-rendered sprites.  I also have a way to get “normal-mapped” sprites in GMS, which means I can render my sprite without shading and do lighting in shaders instead.  It also means I can have bullets and stuff emit lights real-time, even though it is a fully 2d engine.  As far as texturing, I have the Substance LIVE subscription, so I may whip up some simple textures in Designer using some quick nodes/filters, etc… and then paint them in Painter(not using the PBR pipeline though).  On the other hand, I may just go with a solid color style with lighting to keep things quick and easy.

So, let’s vote for a good theme and have some fun guys and gals!!!

I’m In :D

It’s my 3rd time. I’ll try to dare one with better completion this time.

I’m very glad to get my first offer in a game developing company, working on a MMORPG.

I’m in v.5088

Yes, 5088 I’m in posts. How do I know? Suggested URL:

Yeah, I know, there are other titles. Either way, I’m in.

(I think) I’m in!(?)

I HOPE I’m in this time.

Would be my second time participating, but a dire period of university assessments is coming my way, so if I learn everything I have to this week I’ll make you lot a game.

HYPE!

Gameplay trailer below

We’re in!

wanted_2d_artist_3x

Hello, comrades!

Looks like we’ve found a new artist for the team!
We are seeking for 2D artist who is willing to join a team and doesn’t have problems communicating us in UTC+3 timezone.
Our team is two people as of now: programming/design guy and music/sound guy.

Please reach me in comments or (better) in Twitter @IgorsGames.

Thanks for reading, and good luck making your games!

P.S. We’re in!

We’re in!

My second time here! This time going through with some friends because I can’t do making levels, or art. However I can do programming and music (Sonic Pi!)

We have, me who has a job as an app developer and uses Unity all the time,

One guy who does hardware school tech support but has used Unity a little,

Another guy who has used Unity a little and is currently sleeping through basic Python classes in school

And finally we have a guy who hasn’t a clue about programming, games or computers but he believes that we can do anything, so he’s our ideas guy!

We’ll be using Paint.net for art (Or GIMP if really needed), Unity3D as an engine, Sonic Pi and a guitar for sounds and music, the files that are over on my GitHub for ease of use in starting. We’ve got loads of code snippets to put together and use over there!, all versions of Visual Studio and Monodevelop and many more things I’m sure we’ll realise that we need!

This seems like it’s going to be a fun time! Hopefully aiming for great optimisation if at all possible. Great optimisation and cross platform so we can hopefully deploy to PC, Mac, web, Linux and mobile! Benchmarking for optimisation is going to the the Raspberry Pi (Or a 2013 Macbook that I have at work, I’d say the Mac is slower 😛 )

Goodluck to everyone else and have fun!

I Am Going To Be In

I’m in for the 8th time in a row, just like last time I will be using!

Language and Library: Java Swing

Graphics: Paint.NET,  Piskel, maybe Inkscape and Synfig

Music: LMMS, maybe  Abundant Music. Depends on how much time I have left

SFX: Might use SFXR if I have time or just Audacity.

Cannot wait!

How have you managed your time during LD?

I am bad at time management, for LD I just try and do it, sleep and then finish it.

But are there some amazing time management stories, hour schedules produced for LD and did they work?

Considerations Considerations Considerations…

Hey! considering doing this LD… probably not in the Jam though, as my deadlines for my subjects are soon upon me :/

If I am to this Ludum dare, I will most likely be using the following:

  • 3ds Max
  • UE4 OR Unity
  • Audacity
  • Photoshop
  • zbrush
  • Quixel

My knowledge of coding in a 3d environment is poor … so its going to be fun :))

Good luck to everybody participating!
