We finished the first level of this 2.5D action parkour game (placeholder title: Hoaxed) where you as the player play as a professor who got shrunk by a machine which shrinks you to the size of roughly a rubix cube. by parkouring you have to find you way back to the machine and restore yourself. although beware that there are enemies who want your precious technology.
we are very pleased with the progress so far and now we are going to pursue the animating, enemy design and more level designs.
Good luck to everyone out there!
Cheers

End of day 1! More progress:
Design: 90% (still unsure about upgrade system)
Art: 70% (missing customer animations and most of the interface)
Code: 60% (need to finish crafting and customer interaction)
Audio: 0% (leaving for last)

Concept:
Customers walk in, ask for a specific item, and it’s the player duty to handle the workers to produce the item requested.

Please let me know your thoughts!
It’s the first time that I’m doing a point & click and it’s going pretty well

Most of the mechanics are done..now I just need to create the actual game.

Hi! First 24 hours almost over and @saprolin and me finally have things going (although we slept through theme release and started late, thanks alarm…). This is our third Ludum, first as a team of two (no artists involved this time D:), and we’re using Unity and Blender. Will be posting more updates, but having fun with particles for now ^^ Good luck jammers!

Hello there! Status update for myself and Kevo!
Day one is closing and a basic back-end structure for our game is starting to take shape. The music is coming along very nicely, and I think it suits the theme for our game very well. Hopefully by tomorrow we’ll have screenshots and demo clips to upload!
Now to catch some Zs before round two!

You can pick up and chuck things now!
Here’s a sweet gif of a dude getting owned by a pool cue.

For the third time we will be joining our favorite Gamejam Ludum Dare and we are very excited to show some progress. If you are curious to see what we are up to, make sure to check out our Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/kualitygames
Our enemy character is ready for retopping and animation;

We have seen some great looking games posted already and wish everybody good luck and lots of fun!
Originally I gave up cause I didn’t like the theme and couldn’t find any ideas, but I’m back! Gonna aim for the compo but I might have to go for the Jam. Still gonna attempt to create sounds and music on my own!

Hi guys! Here’s a small preview of my entry this event, called Nightowl. It’s a visual novel centered around a group of high school friends who try to get back in touch with each other after having been graduated for a few years. The game is completely in a chat room, hence the “one room”. Nightowl focuses on the difficulties in maintaining relationships and the strain that time and moving can have on them.
(Sorry if the gif doesn’t move, 8th LD and I’m still bad at making posts…)
The “blank sheet of paper” problem has been fueling my procrastination since the theme announcement. And here I am – almost one day late. But I’m not giving up – there’s still time to make something. something

Despite the lack of Pena’s efforts, there’s some serious game mechanics already D O N E.

Classic Pena
It took me really long this time to come up with the final idea so I don’t even know if I’ll finish in time but anyway day 1 is finished with half of the game art done.

A little late, but I’m in and trying on compo.
I’ll use only the Gamemaker 1.4 (using only what it has, no addons, nothing more :P) and Bfxr.
It’s around 1h30 AM in France as i write those lines and i plan to end this day of work here.
I’m actually both happy and not about what i did. Not happy because i planned to big. I couldn’t envision my game not isometric and it slowed my advance by a lot and it still will. Happy because even with that i improved since the past LDs and i can manage to succeed even with some difficulties. Back then i would be completely lost and i would abandon my game quickly.
For those in need of help to make an isometric game you can find a great resource here. It had greatly helped me.
Anyway, my game is far from the core mechanics i planned. I thought i could implement them before the end of the day, but the isometric grid slowed me. For each task i planned i got from 30min to 1h30 over my estimation. It’s a lot and on a lot of tasks. I need to manage my estimations better. I plan to end those tasks before the afternoon so i can work on the game and not think about it anymore except for the bugs that will appear.
Before i go to bed i’m working on a Makefile to automate the distribution of my game. It’s a quite easy task to end and it will help me at the end on the jam.
See you tomorrow !

This guy is doing the same thing, I’m doing instead of programming valid fun factor.

Previous (and first) update can be found here.
Half of our team of two has already gone to bed and the second half is just about to. Spent the last hour or so messing around with a cheap post effects shader to get a somewhat more interesting look to the game than default Unity stuff:
Some of Marte’s models are finally in, tho not where they’re supposed to be in the end. This is still just a test room.
The contrast provided by this shader allows us to put details into textures rather than relying on stuff like normal mapping with a similar result, which is good enough, and saves a lot of time and effort. Will probably add some bricks to that fireplace, for example.
As you can see, the gameplay hasn’t really changed compared to the previous update. Back to working on that tomorrow. Will need to plan out the story and puzzle elements of this detective story a bit more too.
Good night! ☆

Well, first post!
First LDJam!
First attempt at using Unreal 4 on my computer!
First crashes!
First fail and vast change of plans!
First time I decided to change the game engine I’ll use half-way during a jam!
Well, goin’ to use Construct 2, good ol’ engine I know like the back of my hand. Still don’t know if I’ll keep my initial idea for a 1st person game in a bedroom and find a way to adapt it somehow to a low-rez 2d game. Hehhhhh! Jammin’ is fun, they said :’D
Damn! People are really good around here.

Pixelart wireframes for the ‘One Room’

This is the still WIP room now:
