Ludum Dare 48 April 24–27, 2021

Let's see how far 5 months of hobby video game development can take me :)

Hey everyone,

My name is Lajos and this is going to be my very first game jam. I've started working on my own 2D MonoGame based engine 5 months ago and I'm planning to use it for this jam. Although I consider myself a seasoned developer, the video game domain is a new area for me (excluding some half-baked Unity/UE4/Blender projects), so I'm very excited to see how it will go.

Count me in Lads

Can't wait to get started this evening! Always love a good jam. And the dare especially is always a blast!

I am in!

Hope I will finally end something on time  gl everyone

The website completely goofed up my post. I'm in!

Let's Gooooo!

I'm doing the one-game-a-month challenge this year and the game I make for LD48 will count as April's entry. Is anyone else doing that as well?

Either way, I'm looking forward to jamming with you all  I'll be live-streaming the entire week-end!

3rd LD

Excited to go at this again! I'm aiming to use either Unity AGAIN, or try something with plain JS Canvas. From past LD's i've learned I need to use freeware assets for the art, because I tend to spend too much time on the art and not enough time on the actual game design.

Can't wait!

I'm in

I'm well stocked on junk food and coffee. As usual I'll be working with my teammates @bcav and @genie.

I plan to use bare-bones JavaScript, as in the old days. Depending on the theme, I may use a practice game I made recently, SHH, as a reference. The code is a bit of a mess, but feel free to use it if you think it will help. I'd turn it into a real code-base but I need to save my energy. Good luck everyone!

Taking music requests

Howdy!

I'm looking to get some practice writing/producing original music. Throw some ideas at me and I'll see what I can get back to you! Be as specific or vague as you'd like.

I've done a couple of these a long time ago (2014?), and couldn't find credentials to get into my old account, so I'm on a fresh one. (The games I made were pretty trash anyways)

Things to keep in mind: * The music will be published under a Creative Commons license * As per Ludum Dare rules, if you use my music you'll be required to OPT-OUT of the "Audio" voting category. * There's no guarantee on the quality or eventual existence of the requested music. This is ad-hoc, if I was able to commit fully I'd join a team instead.

Obviously I'm unable to actually submit anything for entry, but I hope that this can be a bit of help for people who are looking for music throughout the weekend.

Hello! This is my first game jam! Looking for help!

We need an extra person for programming. The other programmer uses unity if that helps. I will be working on the art and animation for the game in aseprite and adobe also.

This will be my first ever game jam!

Ok fine, I'm in.

I'll be using Unity for the compo, and.... I dunno, I guess that's it?

Question to native english speakers

I'm not a native english speaker, so I have a language question:

Theme: Summoning

I thought it meant to summon a monster / demon or whatever. But according to translators, therefor the word "incanation" or "evocation" is used. So is Summoning more likely used to summon someone to the curt or into the army?
