Hopefully I can finish this because last ludum dare I ran out of time.
This is the first ludum dare I'll take part in, I'd have always wanted to participate but it would always be around exams, now that college is in the past I can finally participate.
Good luck everyone!
I'll join LD48 inside my 1987 VW Camper Van!

Ok giving it another try, everytime I try to finish life gets in the way but this time I took off till Tuesday so if I fail the compo i can still at least make the jam I am gonna lose the first two hours since I'm seeing mk but after that I'm free and clear

I’ll be chilling (aka panicking) in the Let’s Talk Game Design discord server. Come say hi, we’re a chill bunch.👌

I was hoping to say I've been doing Ludum Dare for 10 years for the 48th event.... but alas only 8 years. It will be my 20th one thought!

I'm in. This time, I will wander a bit out of my comfort zone. I would like to create an interactive fiction game with some psychologic aspect and plenty of illustrations.

I've been wanting to participate in Ludum Dare for years now as I love game jams and I always remembered the events AFTER the events, once people started posting their games. Well, I'm happy to finally make it with this meaningful LD48! Cheers and good luck, everyone. Don't forget to hydrate as you do the things this weekend!
I might try to enter this time, hopefully il be able to finish in time and no major bugs will occur happy jamming everybody!
this is my first time to participate in any game jam. I am learning game development for 2 months and quite excited for this. any advice on the would be great.
Just finished my practice project https://meritcoding.itch.io/oggles here to play.
Will be using Phaser as per previous jams... hoping to beat previous rankings. Weekend will be powered by coffee, red bull & chocolate. Bring it.
In my first Ludum Dare, I am going to be using Khan Academy's programming editor and JS Library. It is a bit unconventional, but I didn't have access to the engine of my choice, or rather, any engine at all, so I have to use all that I have got. Therefore the art will be created using Khan Academy itself. Also, I may be using some Khan Academy engines. But if I decide to import in libraries in HTML, I will change my plan and host my project independently using GitHub Pages, as libraries are very slow on KA.
It's great to see so many posts about people excited to be taking place in the jam! I too am excited, especially since I get to team back up with the same team that delivered Cattenburg in LD47 😻

If any of you are looking for something to listen to whilst we count down the remaining 8 hours, I was recently a guest on a Game Jam podcast called "Jammers Podcast". In the episode we discuss in depth different ways that people can approach game jams, sharing tips and suggestions to make sure that you get a worthwhile experience out of the jam. You can listen to it here.
Goodluck and enjoy the weekend everyone!
I started using Unity this year and I am planning to do this gamejam with a buddy (who is also new to this) Any handy tips we might need?
My second go. Hopefully I can correctly enter my game in the compo this time.
It's been 2 years since the last time I've done some gamedev, so I hope I can do it!
For LD48, I'll be making a groundbreaking MMO RPG. I'll be the lead designer. I'm looking for 8 others to fill all roles.
Good luck to all and have fun :) (and don't forget to sleep)
