Idea/Draft for the Theme “Collector”
😢 Sadly, I didn’t have enough time to actually make this game due to schedule conflicts.
But I’d still love to put the idea out here — maybe someone finds it fun and wants to give it a shot! 🎣✨

Got the main mechanic of the game in! Enemies drop their "bullet power" when defeated. If you pick it up, it goes in your potion bottle, and you can use it with your secondary firing button! But, when it runs out, it goes away. If you get another enemy's power, you keep any you already got- you just need to use up whatever you have first. I think it fits the theme well, and is very fun.

Started with a random creature generator. They are pre-rendered to sprites, so I can render thousands of them.

But I think it's coming together well.
I think I'm going to try and get a tempest like game with different lanes you follow and negeotiate obstacles and collect points and such. Aiming for a compo entry this time, so it would be nice to get some gameplay finish today.
I need to get some sleep since it's 1:30 AM here, but I've gotten a little bit into the project. I should be able to upload on Monday...

LD58, I'm back. And this time, I've prepared an incredibly detailed design doc that covers every single nuance and potential emergency scenario (No)

I'm a bit lost in this jam aldready. I started with 8 hours of delay because I misread the starting time...thought 12AM was my actual lunch time. :) I couldn't find the theme either, so I begun with what I'm curious about at the moment: using glow in Godot.
Best of luck to everyone!
Idk how it will turn out. We'll see. But I think it should be simple enough, just moving a player with mouse and trying to "collect" things.
The interesting part would be to try to attach those things to the player's raft which will grow and grow. which will make it hard to avoid the mines in the water.

9 hours of productive work – concept, basic mechanics in the engine, and partially completed quests. Time to relax.

I've finished my first mechanic but there;s a LOT more to add, I might need to lower my scope anyways all the best to fellow jammers

A bit difficult to start with the theme, but I have my idea written on paper.

Now a break and then, the sprite placeholders.
My idea for this theme is a "Rabbids Go Home" game but with chickens.

I'll go with Godot, much better for 3D than the tiny low-level framework I had in mind previously.

Added a lot of stuff! Some of it is visible in the picture!
We're going to be looting a castle!
That is not the real title lolz. https://twitch.tv/alexrosegames
In the name of all whats truthful and good, we, Gentlemen Teaparty, work on a spectacle for you all to see. Grisly, no, disgusting creatures are among the card collecting sphere. It is our humblest of goals to defeat them all and return what they stole to the people that deserve it most. As for current, we can share only a glimpse of what to come. We discovered plenty of ways to conquer the enemy and located a faultless place to call our scene of battle.
We hope you reappear, as soon as we reveal more aspects of our vision.

Now I just have to draw an infinite number of sprites. Easy.
