We've got a control scheme!
OH YEAH! Pre-rendered FTW! (though it definitely won't be this smooth in the game)
Hopefully we have a game by Monday

Explore a haunted house and solve your murder. But keep your eyes peeled, as things change when you blink (every 10 seconds)
Took me a while to decide on an idea today, but I did eventually. I'm struggling to get the core mechanics down, though, it's way too much of a walking simulator currently. I'm aiming for a jam submission so have some extra time to sort it out. Hopefully I'll be able to do this tomorrow
Never a good sign when you have to open this page mid-jam!

But should you need it, it's there to help you: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/ExecutionOrder.html
I did sand the splinter off the gamefeel, but it took like an hour.
This is one of your son , he explodes himself every 10 seconds

but i think i need to restart been trying to use my old drag-and-drop tetris code since it was an unfinished project but solved the drag-and-drop code problems
but the unsolved problems of literally every other part of tetris are wearing me down, my collision code is....wonky. i think the best thing I can do is let go of what I'm doing and try a different method that might involve less headaches. otherwise this game's never gonna get off the ground if I can't even finish the core damn tetris part. it'll have to be relegated to extra or just never finished in that situation.
so, back to the coding drawing board, i've got a tutorial i'm gonna use to try to set things up better to begin with. god damn tetris is a Nightmare, how do mobile apps do it so well lol

Too busy jamming to type more

Hey all, we're having trouble naming our game, so I've made a twitter poll. Attached is a picture of our protagonist! He blows up every 10 seconds, along with everything around him, but magic keeps him alive to blow up again and again!

I wanted to share this because they turned out really cool. Just a simple box with a 32x32 pixel I created and UVmapped on.
(my wife made the sick oil lamp)

... but I had to spend an hour rewriting some code from C to Assembly. On one hand, I made a certain routine run 75 times faster. On the other hand I haven't touched 90% of the features needed for the game to be playable. Oops 😅
Cards are drawn every 1 second, for the sake of this gif.
The maps are a little sparse as I've not yet made the enemy spawners or exit marker, but I have a proper procedural map generator in place now. (Zoomed out to see a small map. Each room is one camera-size area.)

Had enough fun for the day...gotta prepare for crunch day.

This screenshot shows a lot of progress from today. Made a “Win” screen, where you make it safely to the island at long last! The “You Win” text is just a placeholder for right now while I figure out what will display here to congratulate the player.

I feel like we're gettings somewhere! I'm very happy with the system I've built for items and customers, and now I can start adding some more customer interactions.

I’m making a huge list of objects for my entry and need more suggestions!
Feel free to fill out this form to help out!
