Duke Flywalker's Crap-Tastic Adventure is Done!

Finally, we've completed our game! It's up for rating/reviewing now, so if you would, give it a grade!

Finally, we've completed our game! It's up for rating/reviewing now, so if you would, give it a grade!
I didn't fully complete this game but I'd still implore you to give what's here a whirl. You play as a spider trying to get to the finish line by climbing over walls and using your web to make it easier to get around. Be careful! If you shoot too many webs you'll run out of energy and pass out! There was also meant to be a mechanic whereby you would eat flies to gain health but as I said I ran into problems. I will be updating this game after the competition is over.

I have managed to finish another game for my second LDJam in row!
I present Squabble Snooker.
There are some bugs and issues having to do with the UI and restarting the game. However I do not have the energy anymore tonight.
I wish everyone good luck and i'll get back to playing games tomorrow. for today I need a screen break.
Unbelievable, but I made it without (major) anxiety issues. My solo game is published and in the list of the Jams. Today I took out a small mistake, worked on the description I had typed a draft on my phone before sleep finally overtook me and made some simple art to add. Having a black screen only does not really attract players, during gameplay you will see enough black already  Anyhow, putting nerves aside I present to you...

I know I can do better, but I am satisfied with everything I did and have learned. I showed myself I can do it, despite all my uncertainty. Have to say though, I am very nervous for the feedback but not backing out now. Have a good night!
Side note: I have no clue how to add links and keep them working here in the messages, so please be so kind to just press my name if you wish to play. :blue_heart:

Every game jam I've done the past few months I've bitten off more than I can chew, and ultimately ended up not being able to finish.
Happy to have continued that trend with Ludum Dare 56 :sunglasses:

play it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/keyba
This is the 3rd Jam i was in and i believe this time i chose the scope correctly and really got a well rounded game. I even had time to put in some sound effects. Although its only a few. I learned to use the animation feature more instead of animating things through code. Also, only one keyboard was sacrificed to fluids and is currently dried on the heater.
If you want to try my game its playable in the browser on itch.io Here is the game page: Survival of the Shadowlings
If someone plays it before 12am. Let me know if the crude controls desription is enough or if more tutorial on the page is needed.
How can you not want to save those littly guys?

Yesterday, as the evening arrived, I experienced an insatiable urge to make a game for Ludum Dare. I checked for the next event and realized that it was almost over! I got to work and threw together this little game, called Battle Dots. It's by no means a production-quality game, but I'm proud of how far I've come in being able to cobble together a simple game or proof-of-concept pretty quickly. Would love to hear your feedback!
Are you brave enough to come to the Dreadzone? We have everything you need — tears, stress, guns, plenty of ammo and HTML5.

Play here, I will play & rate your game back too, of course!

Play Night Critter: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/night-critter
This is the second game jam I've joined in a relatively recent amount of time, and I am loving tkaing the break from my main projects to be able to focus on these little weekend brain exercises.
My game is more of a short <5 minute silly one-off, but I'd be stoked if you'd give it a shot, and hopefully you get a chuckle out of it. It is a drag race of snail-proportions between you and eight other competitor mollusks. This game (HTML5) works best in the itch.io in browser launcher (the one on this site is a bit cropped) here:
Thanks!!

After a couple of days of work, It's finally finished and released.

Online on itch.io: https://angrybeard.itch.io/sworm
My first LD in a couple of years. Worked with a few friends on our entry, had a really good time. We got pretty much everything we wanted to get done.

Check it out!

I was going to enter this jam with a friend but he bailed on me so I completed the jam by my self. He was going to make the art and music for the game but alas that didn't happen. I tried to make the art and the music by myself but it was too bad so I skipped all of that :) there is no music, and art is from Kenney's website. (I hope it's ok ':D I can move it to Extra category if not)
At least it is done and I did what I promised. I hope you guys had a better jam than I did.
See you on the ratings!

Been a long time since I've touched any gamedev, so decided to go for a pretty classic platformer to re-warm to it. Aim was to build a metroidvania-like character.
Had fun, but of course didn't have time for everything - might revisit this idea in the future, primarily to get a boss fight in there!
If you'd like to, you can check it out on the LD page here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/fig-the-fox/
Or on itch.io here: https://crockets.itch.io/fig-the-fox

working on the submission now!
Hey everyone!! We are so close to release so I'll make some posts about our game!
In our game you will meet the Boss of the Bug Island, his name is General Bugz!
Back in the days, general Bugz was friends with the King. But one day, King went crazy and started war against bugs. That was the moment, when all bugs were kicked out to the Bug Islands.
From now on, General Bugz hates everyone, who is somehow related to this unjustice to his kind

To those who don’t know, in our game Beetle Battle, you play as a Knight with a drill who fights hordes of bugs on the islands!
Feel free to check out our game soon: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/beetle-battle
Team of two, just finished our game Velc-Bros!

We are thrilled to share our game "Fleaes" with you! We had so much fun during this game jam. After hundreds (or even more) of bugs, our game is finally playable.
"Fleaes" is a game where the goal is to build a bridge with tiny fleas carrying stones. But be careful! The weather is not in your favor! Rain and wind will make an appearance, trying to stop your fleas from building the bridge! It's up to you to build the right defenses and complete the bridge before time runs out! :clock:
To build your defenses or hire new fleas, you'll need raw materials that keep floating down the river. :ocean:
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/fleaes
Feel free to try out our game and share your feedback with us!
Wishing all participants a great end to the game jam!

Anyone got some programming horror stories of spaghetti-code during the jam?
I want to upload my game on LD site, but it shows only white screen. Maybe anyone knows what should i do?
I followed by these instructions: https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/

Two guys just making a game together for the first time!! Will be submitting super soon!

While initially having no ideas on what to do with this theme, I managed to whip up a pretty good game. Please go and give it a shot.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/perdita-creaturae

Luckily, our game is still running, and players are finding crazier ways to keep the game going. Huge thanks to all the players, and above all, enjoy our small contribution to the LD Jam!
Continuing to add features, now, conway fire!! :fire: It burns away Conway cells and leaves remenants around for the next time!

Finally finished and uploaded my game "Tiny Terrarium"
looking forward to checking out everyone's submissions
... With one silly little goober game finished.

It's quite crude and doesn't offer much in a sense of gameplay, but it has little goobers running around. It started as a challenge and a non serious attempt to see where I could get if I started making a game from scratch with C++ and OpenGL and no pre-built engines or frameworks, and I managed to finish something which is a nice bonus.
The game idea kind of grew organically during the process from a vague idea of a game where you'd lead ants by planting pheromones on the ground, to a game of nondescript little goobers kind of swimming around after delicious goop and being chased by a big bad goober. I didn't have time to implement any scoring though, but feel free to use a timer to see how long you can keep the goobers alive!
Check it out: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/goop-and-goobers

Phew, it's been a busy weekend, but you can play our game now! We've decided to make all music and assets ourselves...

...and it all started on paper, with a pencil and a pen for lineart! Then, we colored the assets digitally to look like above.

Let us know how you enjoy our cheesy lil' game!
Another jam done! Our team explored with retro aesthetics this time, with pre-rendered cutscenes and vertex snappy goodness. We tried making a HTML build, but sadly couldn't get it to work (next time). Looking forward to see LD56 submissions!

Chario Spirale and me are trying to give a hand to Zeus... So many planets to populate !

Game was nearly finished, but my kid has a nightmare and i need to take care of him. Maybe i'll finish the game later, but have to drop out of the jam now.

Just scared myself while recording a playthrough of my game.
Would love if you gave it a try!
My game is released ! A lot of little bugs to track down but not it's ok (I hope )
You can try it here

It has been a real effort doing this game. It ended out being a game inside a game. So we had to make two games!

OLD:

NEW:

Check out the game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/tiny-pack
After 72 hours of intense programming, we are proud to release "Fleas"! If you enjoy chill, no-stress games, don't hesitate to give it a try!

We're all out on checking other games, hope everyone is ok with timing, have a great day!! ❤️

Also hopefully you can check out our game ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/morningteagame56 (sorry, embedded link doesn't seem to work)
only in the final there were a small number of bugs for which we are ashamed(

our team worked really hard to make everything perfect and we think it turned out pretty well, I recommend everyone to check it out! Illustration2.png also our gamedesigner made a fanart for our two pretty gnomes Снимок.PNG
We are working on our Ludum page as we speak - I can't even believe I can say this but we are finally done with our game Rat Dead Redepmtion. Please stay stoked for when we finally release it. There are some minor bug fixes and optimazitions needed haha but its fine for now.

Ahhh I almost did it, but not quite... I still submitted the game since there are fun mechanics to mess around with! This project was so extremely fun to make as a music AND game dev nerd that I will be working on it in the near future just for fun! I'll take a small break now, but I hope to be able to present to you all an actual fully working Papufel Energy Inc. soon :3 Still, go ahead and check out Papufel Energy Inc. from my profile if you're interested in some real-time music modulation and fun light shows.
My biggest mistake here was to animate and model everything by myself. It took so much time that I couldn't get all the mechanics connected and balanced before the deadline. But hey, you live and learn.
I'm looking forward to playing all of your games now! I'll go make some popcorn and get on reviewing.

Waow it was very ambitious to make a world that big but I am happy with the result and the abilities of each creatures! Have a good 15min end of jam!
Managed to submit so close to the deadline, real keen to see everyone elses games!

I didn't finish my game and there is a long way to go, but I think I have tried my best.

This is a game which you collect resources and build your own cell. Sadly I had a lot other stuff to do and I am solo for this game jam, so I didn't make more organs and enemy cells. For now, it's a boring game.
If you want to try it, you can download it from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_-YEcKnH4MzSskBT7cL6BVMKctXX3Q5g/view?usp=sharing (It is built on Windows.) (It's like I'm not trusted since I'm here for the first tiime. Never mind~)
You can use WASD to control the cell and QE to rotate it. When the particle reaches the red area, it will be counted as yours and you can buy membranes or organs with them by clicking the button above and them click on the newly generated stuff.
I really appreciate this game jam as I think I find myself have a lot area to improve. And best wishes to you, my friend.

HELLO! First time for my friends and I for both jamming and game development! WE DID IT \o/ Looking forward to trying out all the games!!
The trees can talk! And they have a lot to say!

We just finished what must probably be our best submission yet for a game jam - and I'm over the moon. Frying Chicken has never been so fun. Please feel free to play our game at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/$399259/!
Yay my game is done! Go play it now: Terrarium Combinarium! (Works in browser, also there's a windows build)

This was a fun one! I think this was the first time that I did something "appropriately" scoped. Also was nice getting back to Luxe engine.
Will post more details later, but love to hear what people think. Can you beat my highscore of 1196???

Warning: You may find this game disturbing.

It’s been a long time since I had the opportunity to participate, and in the foreseeable future, it’s unlikely I’ll have another chance. So this jam was especially important to me. I found it hard to come up with a decent idea that fit the theme, and I completely wasted the first day. I managed to complete the game, though it turned out much simpler than I had planned. Still, I’m satisfied — I created at least something.
Just wanna show off these tiny hamsters!
Had fun this jam.

Wohoo!

A fairly accurate representation of how happy we are to finish this jam. It's been a blast.
We're looking forward to checking out what everyone has achieved. Additionally, we would love to hear what you think about Maratus In Love. Life as one of the most adorable creatures with eight arms can occaisonally be tough. But overcoming the challenges will hold the best reward imaginable.

We finished with but a few minutes to spare! We decided to try and make our game in TIC-80 as a bit of a challenge to ourselves since working with limitations can be fun! This was also a first for both of us as Koorogi has never made a game before and a first for me as I've never done tower defense. We hope you enjoy it! Game here!

Miku's Minion Madness is now live! Take the role of Hastune Miku and fight the forces of evil in this laned round-based minion fighter! Become a powerful summoner and defeat all enemies to take down their base, but be careful! The forces of darkness are coming for your base, too!

We managed to make our first game in Godot for this jam (previously used gamemaker).

I am so so so happy with the artworks I created for this game. Ofc there are still looooots of things to be polished and even changed in the future. After all can an artist be ever satisfied? But overall I feel great about our game and this entry. Wishing everyone (including ourselves) the very best of luck!

It ain't much, but it's a game and it's kinda fun. It still needs more polish than I could fit in. I might keep working on it and make it better some day.

Looking forward to playing all your games! You just got jammed.

I wanted to make a point and click adventure game but unfortunately I haven't managed to finish it in time for the Jam. Still, Ludum has motivated me to come this far, and I will make a polished game for the Extra category. I won't be able to score but I will give feedback on your games. Check out my game when it's out!
Here's a sneak peek.
