Today I'll focus on making levels, a tutorial, sounddesign, a main menu and some graphics stuff. Let's see how far we can get

What is betty gonna find at her grandmother farm \

hope it doesnt involve fighting with little cute slimes :)

Because Lily Adventuresses! Episode 2 has the premise of four playable characters who are able to greatly enhance their weapons by inserting tiny creatures that willingly turn themselves into cubes into the weapons' slots, I've been browsing relevant posts about them.
Since there's no way to implement positive status effects in RPG Maker 2000 (2003 onwards did so), the usual way of one character transforming into a more powerful form is to implement switches or parallel events where the base character is switched out for the transformed character, with higher stats and stuff.
But for this game, I'm doing things the old-fashioned way. In the Items tab of the Database menu, I just have to duplicate a weapon, and infuse additional stats into the duplicate. And when times call for transformations (e.g. boss battles), I just have to use the following event commands in sequence: Change Items (add transformed weapon), Change Equipment (equip transformed weapon), proceed with the rest of the battle, and win the battle itself. And by battle's end, Change Equipment (unequip transformed weapon), then Change Items (remove transformed weapon).
The full game will have a boss battle at the end of each chapter, and the characters will be mandated to upgrade their weapons at the beginning of each chapter, so the possibility of one character not upgrading their weapon will be moot.

I am making a deckbuilder inspired by a certain ufo50 game, the gameplay programming is pretty much done. Feels good! Now I just need more content, sound FX and music.
Bluh, Im super far behind schedule, but it's slowly chugging along. a bit more than 13 hours left, and I still need to code where to use the resources you're gathering. Spent too long on the player sprite and a few other things.
Not what I had planned, but that's what I drew:

We had some problems, but they are fixed now!

Used chinese ink to quickly throw it together. I'm still getting used to inking. It is what it is :)
Is there "Extra" this time? I might need it...
POST: 24 hours into our Ludum Dare (first one for most of our team), but we're having fun so far! Hopefully, we'll get our first playable build by end of day.
P.S. How much Lidl pastry have other European team consume so far?

Now I must really focus myself on enemies

But it fits the theme so I'm sharing it anyway. This is my first steam game that I coincidentally happened to release the demo for a few hours before the jam started. It's a game about building and fighting creatures made of cells.

I was thinking about making a spinoff game using the same engine and similar mechanics for the jam, but it felt like it was reusing too much work to be in the spirit of ludum dare. I don't have the energy to make something completely new when I was already in crunch mode for a few days, so I sadly won't be submitting anything this time.
Good luck to everyone participating!
Spent a lot less time this time on my compo game. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with the results. :) Can't wait to play everyone's games soon!
Cute tiny workers and turrets :frog: :rabbit: :mouse:
