Seems impossible to keep all the balls in the car - but I have been surprised in the past by other players by how much better they are in playing my own game than me, so... looking forward to others trying this and beating my highscore :)

Feeling like I'm not gonna be able to get enough writing done for this, but it's probably just midnight and I need a break/sleep.

So I made a running animation for what would the the final character sprite:

But, honestly, I've been having a godawful time in the past 5-6 hours. I really wanna finish my entry, but I've been feeling really stressed and upset. It seems that I am really bad at managing my stress. And it sucks ass too, because I wanted to return to Ludum Dare. I want to be around for the 20th anniversary of this competition, and I'd really, really, really don't wanna miss it! But if I wanna have any chance at that, it would have to be in the Jam category; probably with me in a group as the artist, even though I'm not a great artist.
I really want to stress that I HATE having to leave right after establishing my return! I'm in absolute despair writing this; I want to submit my game, no matter how unfinished. I am incredibly sad making this post. It doesn't help that my family will be moving to another house later this month! This has become an utter NIGHTMARE!! And I just wanna wake up!
I guess Ludum Dare isn't for me, and saying that makes me so, so sad. I'm gonna go to bed, though I might respond via my phone, because I don't immediately go to sleep. If I still feel incredibly stressed after waking up, then I simply cannot continue on anymore. And I wanna clarify, I am NOT begging for sympathy! I do not feel that I normally deserve it; and yes, I really am feeling super distraught right now!
I hope, for the love of GOD, that you all are doing MUCH better than me!
The prototype is almost done! Don't have time to upload a gif unfortunately; it would look better (and make more sense) if it was one.
Much of the rule logic is implemented for both the HUD menu and in general, and the rule governed objects are basically prototyped; it just needs all the other subclasses. Next time, I'll be working on the rest of the needed assets, the game state, and the first levels!
We've got some simple character designs for this one. There's just two of us on this one and I've got a messed up arm, so I've opted to do everything in illustrator to help myself out. We have here (well-- had, the images were way too big and I don't care to resize them this late!) our main character, a potions-master named Mochi, and our customer character, a neighborhood lady named Mrs. Bunnerly. We also have the rough draft of the writing done, a lot of coding for the potion making part of our game AND a start on some of the icons for our potions ingredients. I think we're going to make it!

Here's another screenshot for the day - something's coming!

My list is long, can I finish this before the end of Jam time? Let's hope so. Happy with what I have so far though!

Time for some sleep. Despite one of my main pieces of advice having been "don't sacrifice sleep for more gamedev time" looks like I'm going to ignore my own advice and get very little sleep. Make sure to get some good sleep regularly so you don't end up a sleep-deprived hypocrite like me, everyone! Can't wait to get to work after some sleep and possibly actually finish a Ludum Dare game, after reading my dozens of site notifications in the morning.
No dev screensnip this time, I've reached that point where nothing works and it's time to do nothing but bug patching.
Finally got some art for our game! Still lots more to do and we're looking forward to putting it all together :)

Is it going to work out remain to be seen...
Day one done! Managed to nail down my artstyle to this ultra minimalistic pixel art.
Hopefully can finish it over the next two days.

This is crucial for gameplay purposes. (joke)
I had to actually work for once on the days of the jam so this is more like a 36 hour jam for me. hopefully I can go get some sleep and use my time tomorrow to finish the main gameplay (I swear my checklist has like 2 item on it) then I can finally get to polish and making my game look like less of a Mondrian painting than it does.

Beams, planets, fighter behavior (flocking) and proper camera control all in
One day past, we have completed the game play and concept-design. Today we are developing core-mechanism and try to finish the UI-design. The game describe a company which is working for storing goods as business. And, something is happening in this game-world. We are happy to invite your guys to play this game :)

It's 8 am over here and I'm sitting with my second coffee :coffee: of today so let's recap the first day of our team. We started with a vague idea of rescuing planets by combining and transforming material the planet drops. So far we managed to get most of the core gameplay done. There is a little robot that carries materials around, machines to transform and to combine materials, a recipe system and some decorative assets.
I need to stay AFK later for a few hours so my team will work on the game on their own when they get up. So next I'm going to prepare some HUD graphics for them!

Basic mechanics, more or less working. Time to make some levels.

But it may not last...
My game will be a remake of "AquaSplash" on the website "KadoKado". But with a little twist : instead of adding elements, you move them, to have more than 4 elements on the same tile, which will be ejected in the 4 directions, creating some chain reactions.
Bridges are fun! And extremely unstable too!

I played a ton of the original bridgebuilder game back in the day. So i'm pretty excited about this one. Now i just need some better UI and then getting some brave little agents wandering around across the bridges.
I'm using luxe engine which has been really great. Hopefully i'll get some gameplay in tomorrow and have a bit of time to polish up the graphics and make it look nicer (i'm doing the jam for more time even though it's solo).

Good luck everyone! Can't wait to play some unstable games!

careful with this one
