Ready to go!
Got my custom game engine all polished up and ready to go! Going to be using OpenGL and 2D. Hopefully by the next Game Jam my Vulkan 3D renderer will be ready to go!
Best of luck everyone and have fun!

Doing ludum dare for the 11th? 12? something? time? This time is with a new team, and only a day and a half instead of the whole weekend. We shall see how it goes!
Also: obligatory wall paper (could have done more but on a time crunch)

Been sick as a dog the past week, but also I've been really looking forward to this, so here's hoping I can cobble something together.
Happy Friday Everyone ! Only 18h left until Ludum Datre 55 !
Hi Everybody!
Had a failed attempt some years back, so for this year the goal is to just finish soemthing!
Will be particitpating in the Jam by myself, trying to folow compo rules as much as possible, using Unity.
Unfortunately I'll only be able to start Saturday morning, with the 2AM start in the UK, but should be plenty of time.
Good luck to everyone, and have fun!
Hi everyone,
I'm in, and it's my first time /
This will also be my first game after 3 tutorials about godot 4 :v:
My main goal is to have fun  , but wish me luck, I have a feeling I'm going to need it :joy:
Have fun!
Can't do the whole weekend, and I'm gonna try Godot for the first time, so it'll probably be a disaster. Hopefully a glorious disaster though.
Going in for my 8th consecutive LD.
Ready to roll!
Have never actually finished a project, that I have worked on. Always just doing things for fun but never going the full way and I chose LD55 to be the first time I do this. I have messed around with Unity a few years back but now looking into Godot. Hopefully I will be able to finish it even if it is a trash game. We will see how it goes. Wish me luck <3
Hey everyone, it's been a while since I last joined the LDJam. I felt it would be nice to participate again. This time I will be using Godot rather than Pixel Vision 8. I have had some practice using Godot, so hopefully I will create a better game this time around. Good luck to everyone and have a fun jam!
This will be my first game jam. I have never actually finished a game that I was working on. Always hit a bump in the road and gave up or forgot about it. I have been playing around with Unity a few years back and now took a liking to Godot so will be using that for this jam. Kinda nervous about the time crunch so just hope to make sure the game is playable and Ill be happy if I finish it! Definitely not competing with others. Just myself for this one
Well I better be! It's been too long.

This is my first Ludum Dare ! We are a team of three maybe four. Good luck and have fun everyone !
Here are my ideas for each theme, in case any of them seem interesting and you haven't got many ideas, or are just curious of what other people are planning:
--Summoning--
Summon enemies to fight for you, and all you can do is summon said enemies, like an advanced TABS game. However, killed enemies drop mana points, so it is your goal to try to collect them to summon more allies while also trying not to get caught in the fight. The only thing damage dealt to you does is reduce your mana, but if you reach 0 you die, so it is best to keep a bit of mana with you at all times to avoid death.
You can also control the AI of your summoned minions.
--It Spreads--
Platformer which enforces speed in order to try to escape the corruption.
--Recycle--
Weapons have durability. However, when they get destroyed, they can still be used to craft better weapons.
--Tunnels--
Rage game where you race through tunnels with hard controls. Probably only mouse or spacebar.
--Strange Machines--
Fighting/Puzzle platformer where you fight and solve puzzles with strange machines. Your machines get increasingly more conditional, and it is up to you to be able to complete the game by using your machines to your advantage.
--Single Use--
Fighting games with single use attacks, all of them do different things, and are interesting to use. (I dont really give much of an explanation here but its probably my favorite idea)
--Strength In Numbers--
Same thing as the summoning game but less revolved around single units and more around using tons of units to defeat one large one.
--Fishing--
Fishing game, where you have to throw your hook as far down as possible, and the lower you get the better fish you can find.
Survival raft-like game but 2d.
--Push Your Luck--
A fighting game which rewards risky behavior, probably giving you abilities when your low on health or making preexisting ones more powerful (I hate games which involve actual luck in any way).
--Digging--
Mining game with fighting where you are also a mage who can use the gems to fight. Also you don't mine with a pickaxe you mine with a staff. You can use your environment to your advantage, there will be gravel, lava, explosive minerals, which can all be used to destroy your enemies. Your final goal is to reach the bottom of the cave. Where you will fight against a final bossfight. I might just make a cool liero like game instead though, idk.
--Cartography--
Dungeon crawler with cartography, when you start the game a map is chosen randomly based on a seed. Your goal is to map out whatever you can then learn.
--Pick Your Poison--
Dungeon crawler but each room you choose an additional defect but also a bonus. You fight your way through more and more rooms with general buffs but also more and more very specific defects.
--Decay--
Someone has cursed you and as long as he is alive you will decay, you must defeat him while you are still strong in order to win the game.
--Collapse--
Parkour with a collapsing building.
--Mutation--
Gain random perks and use them to fight
It would be interesting to see some feedback on these
15h to go and a lot of nice themes. Getting the godot template ready.
This is my first time doing the Ludum Dare Game Jam. I've done other game jams in the past, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice? I'm excited to see what everyone makes!

I am in! Have fun, enjoy your life, but also enjoy the struggle and don't forget that every participation is a success even though your game didn't finish.
For the first time I will go with the Godot engine. And we can all notice that there is a big move towards the Godot Engine. I have used the mono version (C#) now over a couple of weeks, and I just really love it. Let's go Godot!
Good luck and have fun!
I don't even know how many Ludum Dares I've jammed in, but still up for another!
Working with a team this time and using this very barebones template for Godot that one or our teammembers made: https://github.com/mikaelbarlund/godot-template
I left the weekend free (totally on purpose, of course) so what is more exciting than to work on a game for 48 hours. I hope to keep it small this time and lose less time to doubts and despair of my design. I will maybe use picotron or love2d, we will see.
Interested meeting up this weekend for a couple of hours of body doubling in Karlsruhe, Germany? Write me :)
