An Apprentices Journey done
It's honestly suprising we were able to finish at all given how many scheduling issues came up but it's done!!

After years of trying and failing to submit a game to Ludum Dare, here I am victories with my submission. Time to sleep, time to eat, and time to take a shower!
My Submission: Kings Court

It is always a rush to get things in before building, and after 72 hours of jam brain it seems incredibly easy to introduce game breaking bugs, or mess up build settings. I still managed to upload a broken build with a tiny max resolution with 1 hour and 47 seconds remaining.. Anyway. Page is up! I will update it with the not (well I say 'not', but honestly it is probably just less) broken build, within the hour.

Now golems spawn how they should, with right timing. We belibe in enchanses user-expiriense

I've been watching Ludum Dare devlogs for years! Me and my bro finally decided to give it a shot. This was quite the rollercoaster of an experience but I'm glad I did it! From resolution problems to spawning issues. It was crazy!! There is so much more we wish we could have done, but alas, time holds no prisoners. Check it out and watch out for walls!

Since I made the game in my own engine and I REALLY LIKE JAMS, I made my engine keep track of a bunch of stuff, such as THE ACTUAL TIME spent making the project...
(in the engine)
Unfortunately it does not track the time spent on Audacity and Blender (I made the art myself too), so you can probably multiply that by two or something.
It also does not track the time spent editing the engine. My engine is already very stable and "matured", we are currently working on a huge game in it here at our studio, but I still like to improve stuff in it during jams to facilitate workflow.
The game is a Relaxing World Building Experience, so it is relatively simple without complicated mechanics or characters, so that facilitated a bit. If you haven't seen SANDTOWN yet, those screenshots can help you to get a better picture:

Since this is my 20th ludum dare (and probably 30th or 40th jam, I have a decent expectation on the time spent. It usually goes like that: - 24 hours of sleep (8 hours a day times 3 days) - ~33 hours of actual work (averaging 11 hours a day) - ~5 hours for food, bath and rest.
I think I'm getting older, because this is reducing over time... Nowadays I think I'm closer to 7 hours a day than 11.
Anyways, if you haven't played my game yet, you can check it here:
I remembered the event too late! I started bringing my idea to life hours ago, so I won't be able to submit the game, but, enjoy a video of the idea. The idea is as follows: You need to defend your area from bombs that enemy planes drop, however, the bombs are guided by the rhythm of the playing music, and the peak where the bomb synchronizes with the note played is where it's targeting, meaning the player would need to summon an energetic shield or something like that (I haven't decided yet) to stop the bomb's effect.

Wow those were some intens 72 hours but we (me, @cobby and @tek-atavuli managed to get our project done for the Jam. Our game is called Elemental Summoners. It takes components from autobattlers and deck building games. Using cards you can summong golems of different elemental types or combine them first and create a mixed golem, having attributes from both cards used. I know I should write a bit more but it's past 3am and I have to admit, I am a bit tired, finally.
You can find it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/elemental-summoners

First Summon is online : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/first-summon !!

Now to sleep... Good luck to everyone!
...for the first time! And have a lot of fun in the process!
Honestly, probably even more fun than when making 2D games :)
Here is our game!

Yep, it's a reference to the AC/DC song x)
Please feel free to try the game out and don't forget to rate and leave a comment ^_^ Any kind of feedback is welcome!
P.S.: Gotta go check what y'all made this time and get my mind blown once again! :D

Feels good to do another LD after missing a few. I think this one came out okay. It's an "escape the house" puzzle type of game loosely inspired by Book of Hours. Summon up golems, elementals, angels, and imaginary friends to help you escape.
Oh, and there are ham sandwiches. And voice acting by yours truly. :-D
