Hi guys,

I am having 3 friends over and we are each going to make a different game, I think its gonna be super fun! :)

I will be using: Unity3D and Inkscape or Photoshop for what will probably be horrible artwork :)

I will be posting progress from my twitter handle @PeterPixeleap

*Fist bump* First LD for me as well!

Good luck to both of you! Participating with friends in the house sounds fun, by the way, too bad none of mine make games. =P

My 3rd Ludum Dare compo

Hello fellow Ludum Dare developers. For this, my 3rd Ludum Dare, I plan to throw my familiarity and knowledge of C# and Silverlight out of the window!

Instead I will use a brand new tool and language, both of which I am completely unfamiliar with! Sounds like a recipe for certain disaster!

Tool: Corona

Language: Lua

Editor: Notepad++

Music: Maybe some freeware music.

Sound: Hopefully I’ll find some time to use SFXR.

Art: once again, the infamous programmer art!

Good luck everybody! I hope we get an interesting theme that we all like.

How are you going to get a lot of people to play your game if you use Corona? You will be limited to Android only, since iOS users won’t be able to download your app. It’s cool if you are doing it for yourself, I’m just curious if you realize this, since I find one of the most valuable parts of LD is getting feedback from people trying my game.

Hopefully you can fit in some practice with this new framework before the event begins. It’s not usually smart to try and learn a whole new language over the weekend and expect to finish anything good.

My 6th game here! :D

WOOOW! this is my 6th time im going to make game on this awesome competition! i cant wait :D.

* What im going to use *
As always im going to use C# with XNA since they are awesome but im planing to use C++ with SDL on the next competition but first i need to learn SDL… xD. Anyways here is the list of programs that im going to use:

* Visual C# 2010 (For code)
* Paint .NET (For drawing)
* sfxr (Audio effects)
* FL Studio (Music)
* Chronolapse (Screen recorder)

and also im going to use this:

* Base Code: Just to skip the boring part of coding because i always write the same starting code for every game i made.
* Map Editor: I made a map editor in Visual Basic a long time ago (i think before the last competition) so i don’t have to make a new map editor for every game i made.

* GOOD LUCK *
Good luck to everybody, have fun and also try to be happy all the time n.n and prepare to make your best game ever on this competition, you can do it, you guys are awesome 😉

* Good times *
Im going just to leave here my ludum dare timelapse videos just to remember the good times :’)

Introduction To Me

Well, what can I say. I’m a programmer…I do this typing thing, and work really hard. And I get the the best response, “that’s cool”. I am not a famous IndiDev. But I do program professionally/job. And it is a field I plan on continuing. I did start on the old html. Then, to the great and powerful C++.

I really don’t want the theme to be 10 seconds. Why 10 seconds. I mean, I get, it’s more gameplay then I’ve made…

Well wut am I going to do, and with what?
Language: Haxe
Framework: HaxePunk
IDE: FlashDev
Sound: SunVox
Graphics: Paint.net
Map Exporter: Ogmo editor
Food: All these fooooooooodzzzzzzzzz ℃:

Social Crap:
Twitter: NateAGeek
Twitch: www.twitch.tv/nateageek (gonna livestream Ludum Dare)

Have fun! Good luck!

I’m in

JS Canvas with some code I’ve hastily been whipping up for this compo. It’s been some time since I entered. Last time for a movie theme LD, maybe a mini one, definitely had a unicorn in it for no reason. About 5 years back? Made that with C++ and SDL I think so this shall be nice. Exciting stuff.

Tools: TextWrangler, maybe Inkscape or Pixen or canvas methods, sound if I tack that into my code.

I am less than not prepared… but lets face it, no one reads these posts so I could write anything like the truth. I have prepared for this by kidnapping Peter Molyneux and will feed from his dreams for inspiration. See, now I have an excuse for making 2d curiosity without a prize. Yes that is square after square made from squares.

I’ve voted, bring on the theme.

For all those concerned, I am in!

since no one ever reads these anyway (except for me. I have no life.)

But wait, don’t go! I actually have something interesting to say! So basically, I have these extremely important exams next week. If I do well in them, it’s gonna greatly affect the next five years of my life. Since the exams are classified and there’s no real way to learn for them, I’ll be using the LD to get in the mood. This is also my excuse for skipping some really important school stuff and staying at home, programming a game.

Now that that’s out of the way, I guess it’s time for the usual stuff-

This is my second LD, back in April I hadn’t planned on participating in LD26, instead I wanted to learn and make a game engine so I would be ready for the LD in August. I decided to participate anyway, which turned out to be a great decision, and now I’m ready for the “real thing” with my own engine- http://www.mediafire.com/download/fedzsapog0nrv69/Game_Engine.rar

Tools will be just like last time- Java through Eclipse, with my own engine, GIMP and probably no sound.

Just like last time, I’ll be taking the jam route, but only because I literally have no time. Even with the extra 24 hours, I’ll only have about 50. This seems like it’s gonna persist, since I lose 13 hours off the start every time because of the Sabbath (yes, the band).

If you’re somehow still here reading my whining, stop. There nothing more to see here.

I read most of them. 😛

We’re in again!

We didn’t finish the last Ludum Dare – well, technically I didn’t finish it, Octopi had done all the art for it! It was all technical gubbins that needed done, and I ran out of time as other things came up…

So, let’s try this again.

Arcade Badgers shall be jammin’ and using ImpactJS once more.
Along with this, LMMS and Audacity for music and sound, GIMP and Paint for graphics, and I’ll be poking at Sublime Text for my code editor this time round.

Will be fun to have another mad prototype to play with!

I’m in!

Oh Boy!

Tools:
Language: AS3
Framework: If I choose to use one, Flashpunk
IDE: Flashdevelop / Flash CS3
Art: Paint.NET or Flash
Music: Fruity loops or pxTone
Sounds: Sfxr
Thanks for reading and good luck!

—————————————-
I’ve participated in 2 previous ludum dares, and I realize that those games kinda suck.
Like, really kinda suck.
This LD I’m hoping to be able to make something that’s complete, looks good, has sound and is fun to play.
Good Luck!

I should do sound effects this time

I’m going to use this acoustic guitar I’m borrowing to make sound effects, and maybe some other household items.

I don’t know what kind of effects yet, since the competition hasn’t started, but I’m sure I can do something.

I’m In! (probably…)

So I’ve been looking forward to this for months, but I happened to get sick in the past few days (and with some obscure virus that’s very rare in adults at that, yay for me!). But to the best of my ability I am in. If I manage to make something decent I reserve extra bragging rights…

As usual (I think this will be LD #7 for me) I’ll be making something 3D. I’ll be using a semi-incomplete C++ game engine I made a couple years ago (source: http://github.com/RileyA/OryxEngine).

Libraries: Ogre3D/Bullet/OpenAL/Lua/etc.

Tools: vim/Blender/gimp/sfxr/etc.

I might try live-streaming this time, we’ll see how well that works with Linux…

Good luck everyone!

First time in the Ludum!

Hi everyone!

In the last year I entered in some local events (usually like the artist of the team), but this is my first time in the ludum. I’m nervous!

I’m not sure if I will enter solo or make team with my brother, I will see…

2D: Graphics Gale, Gimp/Photoshop, Game Maker Studio

3D: Wings3D/Blender, Gimp/Photoshop, Unity 3D (with NGUI and some others addons)

Good luck to all!

The Spider and the Virus Are In.

After lurking in the IRC for who knows how long, I’ve finally gotten the opportunity to take part in the event. What’s more, my husband has decided he’d like to get in on the action; so, we’ll be joining the Jam.

Let’s see if we can’t whip up something browser-based and awesome.

I’ll likely be using my existing codebase for JS games on github, but if it doesn’t fit the bill with what I want to create, we’ll end up using another codebase.

I’m in!

^ Setup, same picture as my last “im in”.

Hi guys :) I’m in for my 4th Ludum Dare.

I will be using

Language: Java
Librarys: Slick-2D and LWJGL
Other Libs: JEngine – My own engine – https://github.com/JPatrickDev/JEngine
Sound effects: SFXR
IDE: Intellij
Timelapse: Chronolapse

Have fun guys :)

I’m In

I’m in for my first #LD48.  Not certain yet which primary tools I’ll be using – it’ll depend on the theme – but likely be one of node-webkit, PlayCanvas or CraftStudio.

Other tools I expect to use:

  • 2D: Gimp
  • 3D: Blender
  • Audio: Audacity, eJay and/or MixSuperstar (Wii version)

As a web developer it’s likely that I’ll stick with node-webkit and enter an HTML5-based game, in which case I’ll probably want to use Three.js or Voxel.js for the rendering engine.

Looking forward to reviewing all the awesome and may the best games win!

Count me in

Hey,

I am participating again.
Last LD I had a mate with whom I participated in the Jam.
Now its all me Solo Compo.

It’s only my second time entering, but you have no need to be nervous! I last did LD21, it was incredibly enjoyable and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it just as much as I did!
