LD28 December 13–16, 2013

I’m in!

Since this is my first time in Ludum dare, I decided to go with the jam and do this with a friend. Will see how this works out, and I hope to actually finish the game.

Tools used:

  • Unity (code in javascript)
  • Blender (if I decide to go 3d)
  • Photoshop CS 6
  • Bfxr, sfxr and Audacity for audio

Quack!

Hi Min ! I mean… « I’m in. »

Pyrofoux (me)« Hi Min  !  I mean… « I’m in. » » – Pyrofoux

Ludum Dare is world’s biggest magic tournament.

Game-Wizards from all over the world came here to show their skills in using mysterious languages to make beautiful things to happen.

I don’t know a lot of Game-Spells.

I didn’t read a lot of Scrolls of Gamdev.

I don’t have the best Stuff-Programs.

I can only create mini Game-minions.

But in each Game I create, I try to make something different. Something different from what you can see in usual Game-Minions.

I mean… I really love usual Games. But I want my Games to surpass their conditions of Games. I want them to pass the definition of Games.

This is why, a an apprentice wizard like me will join the Ludum Dare !

I’m Pyrofoux ! I use…

HTML5 as my book of magic Game-spells !

Paint.net as my color scrolls !

Notepad++ as my circle of invocation !

CgMusic & GXSCC as my illusions ingredients !

It’s going to be hard. It’s going short. It’s going to be… awesome.

I’m in – for the first time

Tools I use:

Java with Netbeans IDE and GitHub

If the theme fits it i will use my open source game Engine: Wurfel Engine

If it does not fit the theme I will just use the libGDX framework.

For sound & music I will probably use Garage Band.

For art Pixelmator and/or Pixen.

You can find my tweets about the contest at: @GameDevBenedikt

Today I need go sleeping very early. Contest starts at 7 am tomorrow. Also I need to clean and tidy my room a bit to feel comfortable. I will buy enough to eat and drink for the whole weekend. I will probably stay sober the whole time unless the only things missing are art and music.

Because of an exam next week I am a bit worried about the time I am losin but I will manage.

My setup:

schreibtisch

Third monitor stays dark because I can not connect it to my MBP.

I’m in

AS USUAL, I will be participating in the Ludum Dare. I am Tom 7 and here are all my old games!

Time to play the game!

I’ll be taking part in destroying myself this weekend.

I’ll be using:
VIM
C/C++
OpenGL
SDL
LibD – https://github.com/Allanis/LibD
Tiled
Gimp

Writing primarily on Linux, but I should have a Windows build too. — Play Nice!

But, but Elysian Shadows?

I’m in!

My First Game Jam

Oh dear universe, that sounds like a horrid porn title! Oh well, I’m sticking with it.

So I’m in on my first game jam ever. I started learning game/software development in January of this year, but don’t have all that much to directly show off. I have learned drastic amounts over the course of the last 4 months, after a 3 month break to handle several life transitions.

The one thing I’m hopeful for, is that I don’t get over-ambitious and try to do something too complicated, lose motivation and then just give up. I’ve had a couple of those projects recently, so I’m actively focusing on trying to simplify.

As for the tools I’ll be using: Unity (C#), Paint.net/GIMP/Photoshop, Audacity, possibly Blender if I can get my brain around it, Visual Studio 2012, and probably something I’ve forgotten exists that I use.

As we’re getting close now, I’ve opted to clean up my workspace a bit and share it with all of you!

20131213_112151

I won’t be live-streaming, but I will probably be blogging/tweeting (blog, twitter) my progress and screenshots throughout the weekend. I’m also not against moving whatever my project ends up being to the jam instead of the dare if I need to, but I’m still committed to hitting the 48 hour deadline.

Good luck to everyone, wherever you are!

LD48? I’m on the way!

So guys,

this is my first Ludum Dare and my second game jam! I hope that I submit something for compo, but when I miss the deadline, I’m going to do it the jam!

I will use Unity3D (C# and JavaScript), Blender and Photoshop/PaintNet.

Good luck every one!

-Marcel

I’m in

I am not as ready as I would have liked to be, but I’m going to do it anyway.

Language: I’ll be working in JS+HTML

Tools:

  • Eclipse (easy github integration so I can push updates quickly)
  • Notepad++ (for when Eclipse starts sucking)
  • Graphics: GIMP, Paint alternative (Paint.net?), or just drawing on canvas
  • SFXR maybe for sound if I get to that.

I started making a breakout clone to prepare for this, but fell a bit short with time and ended up with just a moving paddle and bunch of balls bouncing around: http://haveric.github.io/projects/ld28prep/

I’ll probably use some of that as basecode and with any luck, I’ll actually get something finished this weekend.

Good luck and have fun!

-Haveric

I’m in! 6th time, I think

Last time I didn’t even attempt to make a game. I was too busy with some real gamedev work, which, sadly, didn’t work out after all. I’ve started up the serious work again, though, and fully expect to make something of it this time.

Anyway, this should be my 6th time participating in the Ludum Dare, and I am very excited for tonight!

I’m going to be trying to make a little Christmas-themed game no matter what the LD theme is, but we shall see if the final theme allows for something like that. Should be fun, regardless!

I’ll be using:

Unity (UnityScript) (Gamedev)

Notepad++ (Scripting)

Blender / Anim8or / LithUnwrap (Modeling & unwrapping models)

PhotoFiltre / PhotoShop (Texturing / etc)

bfxr / Audacity (To record my own sounds, hopefully)

Spotify (Motivation) =P

I hope everyone has fun! Remember, even if you don’t think you can make it, try anyway! It’s a fun, learning, experience!

Also remember: Get your idea and then simplify it so it can be orderly. Get the core features down first and foremost so you won’t have as much trouble in the home stretch.

Good luck & have fun!

P.S. Don’t wait until the last second to get your Christmas shopping done. Bad idea!

PS ADD A CAT TO YOUR GAME, DON’T FORGET

I am in, and this is my 2nd LD!

I enormously liked my 1st Ludum Dare Compo, which was the 27th one, and I will participate in this one! I have mid-term soon and should probably do something with that, like study, but I feel more like game dev!

I will use next stuff to help me make something decent:

  • Unity (Scripting in C#)
  • Visual Studio 2013
  • Paint.NET
  • Blender (if I will do 3D)
  • sfxr
  • sunvox (might, as I never made music before)

Alright, I wish luck to everyone, and I am sure this is going to be fun!

Me 2

I am in too.

Also I will try to remind people of the Bestiam Dare that I initiated today. So if you need a break, find your pet and post a pic too!

postapet

Using libgdx, artemis entity framework (probably the odb fork), possibly box2d+lights, universal tween library. I may be using my basecode again. But I will probably start over because the basecode really isn’t that pretty, doesn’t do a lot of things and is still from my first LD (24) and I have learned a lot since then :) I am soooo excited :)

I’m In

This is my first year so I doubt i’ll win, but I am up for the challenge.

Language: Python 2.7 with Pygame maybe Lau

Graphics: Paint.NET

IDE: IDLE and Notepad++

Audio: Mulab and Audacity

Don’t think in terms of winning or losing! There are going to be at least a couple thousands submissions. Just have fun and learn!

Participating!

Pretty busy this time of year with exams soon, but going to try to get something done.

Using Haxe, HaxePunk, Flashdevelop, GraphicsGale, sfx!

We’re in.

I’ll be entering the Jam with my team. I’m not sure who exactly will be on my team, though, so I’ll post a member list later with my submission.Tools:

  • Language: C++
  • Framework: Inugami
  • Graphics: GIMP and possibly Blender
  • Music: I have no idea how music gets made.

Good luck, everyone!

I’m in

I’m in again (yay).

  • Language: JavaScript

I see most of developers will use java

Another random “I’m in” post :)

Howdy guys, I’m Gustavo Maciel (aka @gtoknu) and I’ll be in too!

I usually do things in C++, but I’ll be using Java+LibGDX for portability.

Anyway, here’s my full environment: W7, Java, Eclipse, LibGDX, Chirp Composer for cool soundtracking(I’ll just try), bfxr for sound samples, graphics gale for any random image that i need.

I’ll make a timelapse with chronolapse, so yay, I expect everything goes well ^_^

Good luck to everyone, let’s enjoy!

I am so totally in you, Ludum Dare. *creepystare* o____o

Obligatory I am in post! I may or may not be doing hourly minute long vlog updates, haven’t decided yet. I think they could be very funny, but, yeah.

Tools of the trade:

  • Visual Studio 2012 + TypeScript
  • Custom WebGL 2D game framework
  • Photoshop (I seriously need a better program for pixel art, recommendations!?)
  • cgMusic + GXSCC
  • Audacity
  • Virtualdub

I still use Paint so I can’t give many recommendations!
