LD28 December 13–16, 2013

/join LD#28

I’m in too with a great idea! This will be my second LD. Only got part of Saturday, but should be good to go the entire Sunday.
Too bad the compo starts in the middle of friday night for me, but I came up with an idea that works for a lot of themes so I took my head start today to compensate for saturday :D.

I’ll be using Java and Gimp this time.

Good luck everyone!

From disappointment to excitement….

So my 2 team mates (artist and sound designer) both had to drop out for tomorrow’s LD as some things unexpectedly came up. My brief disappointment quickly progressed into trembling excitement as I have now decided to do the Compo instead of the Jam!

This will be my first LD Compo (I’ve done a few Jams and Mini-LDs before) so I’m pretty pumped to start making some cool stuff.

I’ll be using Unity, and will be attempting to create some really crappy  low poly art on the day. OK let’s do this!

I’m In

Guess it is time for one of these posts…

I am going to be working from the Aberdeen hackerspace, hackerdeen. It is going to be a good change from previous years where we hosted an event an Aberdeen Uni.

For this compo I am going to be working from some base javascript code I have been putting together. It provides a loading system, a game loop and an entry point for a state machine for managing a game. I haven’t actually made any games with this, other things seem to have been coming up.

The source for my base is available on my dropbox for now.

I’m in, again. Gave up last time, but going to make it through this time for sure!

Using:

– parenscript- threejs

not sure about sound yet.

I don’t think I’ll worry too much about spending a lot of time on this this year. I just got back in from a week of drinking in Vilnius and could do with some detox and sleep.

Still, 12 hours of development goes a long way if you focus!

I’ll be doing mine with vanilla JS most likely.

I’m definitely in!

Yep guys, it’s happening again! This time I’m all alone but as excited as ever!

This time around the drill is:

Good luck everyone and see you at the finish line! :-)

I’m In (but not prepared)

First time participant, long time lurker. I’m going to attempt to make something with Unity (probably going with 2D, to make assets faster). Wish me luck!

time to do this

Hi there, time for my first LD! I’ll be entering the compo using unity. I really hope I’ll be able to get some art together, because I have no exp in that aspect. Ah well, gameplay > art anyway right. Good luck from Holland to everyone!

Here are the tools I’ll be using:

Engine/Editor: Unity3D (Free) / Monodevelop
3D: Blender
2D: Photoshop / Illustrator
Audio: BFXR, Ableton Live, Garage Band(iOS), Figure(iOS), Audacity
Timelapse: Chronolapse (possibly)

I’m in!

Almost time for another LD.

This weekend I’ll give Phaser by Photonstorm a bash. Let’s have some fun people :)

I’m in

This is my 3rd ludum dare. I’ll start in 48h compo and I’ll be using:

  • C++
  • SFML 2.1
  • Paint.NET
  • SFXR
  • Notepad++ as text & level editor

I’ll also use my own class for loading levels in my own MMP format (http://pastebin.com/aaJ39YrM -header, http://pastebin.com/CcYqu6gB – methods implementation). You can use them freely in your games :).

Yay for text editor as level editor =D

Hey, it’s a first time for me and my partner.

I think use Unity or Construct2 or Delphi (with Delphi 7)

For the asset graphic use paint.net and gimp.

And royalty free music and sound.

Good luck and have fun

I’m in, I guess

Going to regret it though. Using:

  • LÖVE
  • Sublime Text
  • sfxr maybe
  • Paint.NET
  • No music, probably

Yeah.

My Ludum Dare 28 Strategy

Pre-Theme.Announce(): Hang out on Twitter until ludumdare.com crashes so I know what the theme is.

Friday: Meditate on theme until I come up with a game idea, then design it out on paper. NO CODING.

Saturday: Implement game in code, debug.

Sunday: Sprites, Sounds. Submit.

Well, I’ve been looking for a good excuse to not sleep this weekend, so this is perfect!

I’ll probably use either Unity or Love2D, and vim for editing.

I have a friend who may do sound, but if not I’ll probably use audacity and bfxr for music.

For image stuff I’ll use Gimp, and for map editing I may use Tiled.

Good luck everybody!

Sleep is overrated

Of course I’m in for this one … best way to spend a weekend! (since I have no life)

The tools I’ll be using are:

Design

  • A big whiteboard, with lots of space for scrawling ideas on
  • The try-it-and-see method

Coding

  • GameMaker: Studio (most likely)
  • or Unity3D (if I specifically want to do 3D)
  • or C++ & SDL (doubtful, but I have an in-progress framework, so maybe)

(Gonna wait and see the theme and my design, and choose an appropriate toolchain)

Graphics

  • Corel Paint Shop
  • Blender 3D

Sound

  • Audacity (Sound Effects, recorded using a cheap microphone and whatever I can find that sounds about right)

Time-lining

Not doing any elaborate time-lapse or streaming or anything like that.  Instead, I’ll just be making the odd post on Twitter, Facebook, here, and on the project page at https://server.kaldev-games.co.uk/projects/ld28

Good luck everybody, and have fun!!

Here we go go go!

Just finished cleaning up my base code a little bit. Hopefully I can stick to doing this the whole weekend!

Tools

  • C++
  • SFML
  • Box2D
  • eclipse

First Ludum Dare

I’ll be participating solo, using C# and XNA, SFXR for sounds, FamiTracker for music. Haven’t been coding all that long so I’m not expecting much from myself, but I’ll certainly try and get things done!

Participating from Netherlands!

I recently moved from my home country, Chile, to start working on a game dev company. This is my first time participating in Ludum Dare away from home.

My weapons of choice are:

Programming: Monkey

Art: Pixen

Music: GarageBand

Sounds: cfxr

I wish everyone a good weekend and I hope to see on monday a couple of thousands games.

Yo Dogs

Yo dogs I’m Curt and I’m going to make a game. Here is my engine I’m using (c++) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/795486/ld/ld28_engine.zip
