MightyBoot’s first game

Hello to all,

I am a PhD student in Electronic Engineering with a background in signal processing, audio and recently machine learning, but actually I kind of just want to make games and have been waiting for the right time. So here goes! This is my first time in Ludum Dare.

Code: Javascript using Processing.js

IDE: Processing IDE

Sound: self generated + sfxr

GFX: err… I’ll figure this out later.

Good luck to all!

Last min.in

I’m going to try something, though I’m not overly excited this time.
Either going to use the code of my last LD48 game as a base,
or the js code of my game from 1 year ago.

C / SDL2: repo
JavaScript (outdated customized cocos2d-javascript): repo
OS: GNU/Linux
Tools: outdated Eclipse CDT, emacs, gimp, bla bla bla same as in my old posts

Tags: C++, html5, im in, meh

Another appears (I’m in)

Yep, I’m in…again. I’m not sure what to write since I’m writing this on my phone, so here’s ma’ tools:

Graphics: Paint.NET (maybe gimp too)
Language: Java
IDE: Eclipse
Map editor: Tiled (if I can figure out how to use my engine)
Engine: JNitrig2D ()
Music: autotracker.py
SFX: BFXR
Audio editor: Audacity

I ask that you don’t use my engine. Not because it’s an awesome engine, but because I myself don’t really know how to use it (and I wrote it!), because it was programmed in pasta (spaghetti code, well it’s not that bad but it isn’t documented so yeah). Because my engine sucks like Kirby, I’m going to polish it before the compo starts.

I’M READY!

READY

First Ludum Dare

This is going to bee my first Ludum Dare hopefully I’ve prepared my self enough to finish in 48 hrs. I’m going to use:

Java – Programming Language

Paint.net – Art Creation

Pulseboy – for my music

Eclipse -IDE

I’m in

My first time participating.  I’ll be using Unity+Mono, Photoshop, Audacity, and CFXR.  Should be fun :)

King Lemon is In.

This is my first LudumDare.

I’ll be using:

  • Stencyl
  • FL Studio (Sounds)
  • Audacity (Sounds)
  • Photoshop (Art)

Making it clear

Okay, now that LD#28 is almost up, I think I should have made few things more clear about it.
First off, I probably won’t timelapse either, as always. Finding a good program for it is pain in the ass. As for streaming, it uses a lot of resources, so that’s out of question too. But I promise to provide you some demos to play with while I’m making a game. 😀
Another thing is that I THINK I finalized my application list. Here it is:
Multimedia Fusion 2 – this one goes for making an engine, graphics, levels and basically everything that’s not listed in programs below,
bfxr for sounds,
pulseboy for music, although I can’t into music so I might give up on that idea. We’ll see, I guess?
paint.NET for some additional graphics editing.
Now, I have some ideas for a game beforehand (of course it will depend on the theme itself, but still). What I intend on making for sure is a big map, since I love making them and so people loved me do those back when I was making Robotic Friend. If it’s possible, I’d like it to be a platformer too. But as I said, it all depends on theme, so… I just hope for the best. ;P (unless I get very creative with the idea)
Also, since I’m using MMF2 instead of TGF2 this time, I should have a lot more possibilities when it comes to extensions. There is a high chance the game will be better. They save A LOT of time, and I really mean it. Making everything manually isn’t fun when you can just use extensions to do all the work for you, soo…

I guess that’s it? Let’s see what theme is it tomorrow when I wake up. Let’s hope for the best… 😀

Count me in

I probably can’t use all the 48 hours this weekend, but I plan to get something playable done :)

My weapons of choice will be Unity + Blender.

Good luck everyone and have fun!

Let’s do this.

I really want to get away from Flash, but since I don’t have a real plan on what to tackle next, let’s have another round with it.

CODING: ActionScript3, FlashPunk
GRAPHICS: GIMP, punk.fx
MUSIC: I… don’t know yet. I suck at making music. Either I find something which makes it easier for me or I’ll have another silent game.

I already have a nice idea if Corruption does win the vote, but I don’t know whether I can pull it off because of my deficits in music making. We’ll see.

Ludum Dare, I Am In You

Language: TypeScript
Graphics: SVG
Animations: SMIL
Platform: Web/HTML5
Audio: SFXR, maybe a couple of sounds sourced from the real world

I’m in Sydney, Australia, so the event starts at like 1pm on Saturday for us (and finishes at 1pm on Monday). Fortunately I’m unemployed.

Another one!

Taking this weekend off from working on Halfway to enter Ludum Dare once again! Doing it solo this time and properly scared. I feel rusty 😉

Good luck to you all. Can’t wait to see what everyone will come up with.

Tools of the trade
Code: Java + libGdx
Art: GIMP + Sketch
Music/Sfx: Reaper

Bach

Shuttin the Starbucks down!

#YOGO

I thought I was going to do the Jam w/ some people (or a person), but it seems like I’m going to be alone, so I guess I’ll just do the compo! Guess things are going to get started ASAP, shouldn’t waste time blogging. Good luck everyone!

Surprisingly, I am in!

The weekend looks like it is going to be busy, but I think I am in! Haven’t done much game designing in a while, but it will be good to get back into it.

I will probably be coding in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. I also have Microsoft Paint and my imagination. Hope its enough.

Either way, this will be fun. Look forward to starting!

I’m so totally in

And so, in the messy cavern I call my room, the 48 hour fun times that are Ludum Dare begin once more.

I’ll be competing using Flixel on AS3 (as usual) and probably BFXR.

My tactic this time round is to make something which requires as little graphical fidelity as possible, and then add trillions of particle effects.

Good luck everyone!

My in status

So third times the charm, though i am not sure how much time i have this weekend, but i will try at least if the theme is right, but it will have to be something simple.
I was originally going to do something more elaborate, but i didn’t have time to implement it in my toolkit, o well, maybe next LD48, in which i want to do something very different.

Language: C++11
Libraries:
– OpenGL
– BASS ( for sound )
IDE:Visual C++ 2013 Express (why i didn’t switch to this before is besides me, it’s fantastic)
Basecode: i have my own with roots in the old NeHe base code with the addition of my own toolkit that i am constantly adding improvements to.
Graphics: photoshop more or less, not that this game will have much of textures.

I’m in

This will be my fourth Ludum Dare.

First entry was in Pascal.
Second entry in C.
Third entry in Python/Brython.

So, concluding the natural progression, this entry will be in JavaScript. Unlike the majority of people, it would seem, I have been really enjoying JavaScript so far, and I’ll be using it alongside the Phaser game engine (which I feel everyone should check out! It’s a brilliant piece of kit in my opinion). I’m not sure what other tools I’ll be using – possibly GIMP for graphics (if someone could suggest to me a program for GNU/Linux which is basically MS Paint I would be very grateful – what I particularly want is the ability to zoom with a pixel grid. It is something I am considering writing for myself due to my thusfar unfruitful attempts at finding such a program). I will probably also be using the audio tools recommended on the tools page should I get far enough :-).

Good luck to everyone participating! Hopefully there’ll be some great games and good fun for all =D!

NB/ I will be posting my source at github.com/xyrix. As I move through my house there may well be illogical commit activity going on XD.

I’ll try and stream the process whenever I get the chance on twitch.tv/aldiansolkai

Tools I’ll be using:

  • Game Maker Studio: Due to my experience and workflow with it
  • Paint.NET: Pixel art
  • Sunvox: Music
