4th Time Here! – GasQuake

Well hows it going guys. This is my 4th time doing this compo. Gotta say I love it! Hope you guys do as well :).

Language: Java

Framework: My own personal number i worked on for a while:

IDE: Eclipse of course. I love it.

Graphics: Paint.NET

Sound: SFXR

Just your friendly neighborhood GasQuake. see your guys later. BTW I can’t wait to see that with a group of friends.

T minus 25 hours…

The hour is drawing near…

My codebase/”library” is open source and available at https://github.com/tobypinder/tobypinder – it’s basically just my personal website with a Omniauth login system that I’ll be using.

This time I managed to get guest accounts setup, so I can demo “real” multiuser games if necessary without requiring every tester/reviewer hand over his or her details to my nefarious databases!

Ludum Dare LateStream™ – 25 hours to go, so why not stream some warmup dev! I still have to mess around with ‘multiplayer’ in my LD27 game, “Astronomical Odds”

http://www.twitch.tv/gigitrix

PROBABLY entering

The last few Ludum Dare things, I didn’t have any good ideas. This time, though, I think I have ideas for most of the top-scoring themes. Unfortunately, I’ll have to get up early on Friday and Saturday, so my sleeping schedule may be destroyed. We’ll see how it works out.

If I do enter, the competition or maybe just the jam, I’ll probably use one (or more?) of the following:

  • Flash CS4 Pro
  • Javascript
  • Twine
  • Inform (7 or maybe even 6)
  • PHP/MySQL

WHOS GONNA DO THE LUDUM DARE??!

My third Dare!

Hi

This time around I’ll be teaming up with @clangmuir and doing the 78 hour Jam. During the pre-dare warmup weekend I made a game with LOVE2d, and that’s probably what I’ll be using for the Jam as well.

That’s all I know! Good luck everyone!

The Ludum Dare

Hi! I’ll be participating in this Ludum Dare!

Language: Java

IDE: Eclipse

Graphics: Paint.NET

Sound: FL Studio 11

Remember! Somebody you’ve never heard of is participating!

I’m in again! HURRAY! yay yaya yayayayayaya.

ld29imageIt’s time!

It’s that time again. THAT TIME. the time to make a game in 48 hours with boosted and insanely hot skills in the area of entertainment, code, pictures, sound, gameplay, art, and fun!

I’ll be running with the same as before since work at the rope factory has not been friendly to me in the sense of leaving me with much energy each day to tackle a new language. I will, though, do that in the future.

so, on to the stuffz:

ENGINE:

Flashpunk/as3, with flashdevelop and air/sdk. -Chevy Ray is responsible for flashpunk! thanks Chevy!

SOUND:

audacity, sounds by yours truly!

IMAGES:

paint.net is still the fastest at making the pixels i need to punch. Photoshop is great for very specific things and is excellent for realistic photo touch ups and such. i was surprised, at the last time i tried it, how hard it was to use at a pixel level.

CODEXUS:

tile editor by tyler moltz.

preloader/button(if i need it) by noel berry.

NOTES:

notepad++;useing chronolapse for timelapse; possible stream on twitch! (testing tonight)

GOOD LUCK all! xD can’t wait to see all of your games!

4th Ludum Dare

Well, i am here again. And this will be my 4th Ludum Dare. Hope i can make a game more accessible. Maybe this time i won’t go solo, i’ll go with an Artist. But i’ll just know tomorrow.

These are my Weapons:

Programming: Construct 2, One Game Engine to Rule Them All!

Art: Photoshop to make pixel art. If i go with the Artist, probably he will use Adobe SketchBook. But, if i go alone i will use this little nice tool: AutoTileGen Pro (Thanks Ludum Dare for the Deals!), to make the levels.

Sound: BFRX or SFRX… it’s the same tool… And for the Music, this: cgMusic, what i like to call, “A Random Music Generator”.

Well, this is it. Good Luck to y’all!

Didn’t know this cgMusic. IT’S AWESOME!

[M] Trying again this year

I was successfully able to learn my tools with insanity jam, but not quite make a game. So, this time I am going to give it a shot. I got all my real-world stuff put aside so I can just enjoy some game coding this weekend.

Tools:

Language: c#

Framework: Monogame / BulletSharp (Bullet3D)

Platform: Windows

Graphics: Aseprite, spine, spriter

Sound: SonarX1

Hopefully this time will be the one where I stick to a schedule! good luck to everyone

3rd Ludum Dare, I am in!

I’ve entered the comp twice before, in ld26 and ld27, and managed to finish something both times. I missed #28, but it looks like I’m in for Ludum Dare #29! I should have  a fair bit of time to make something, in my timezone the comp runs from 11am on Saturday to 11am Monday.

Anyways, I’m using nearly the same tools as I have in the last two Ludum Dares:

  • Language: Java – I will likely make an applet, so I can put up a webpage link.
  • Libraries: Either standard Java, or perhaps LWJGL or libgdx if I need it.
  • IDE: Eclispe FTW!
  • Graphics: Paint.NET, and GIMP if required
  • Sound: sfxr
  • Music: umm…
  • Timelapse (if I make one): Chronolapse

I can also port the game to Android if I get time and feel the need to. Or I might just end up making something using completely different tools than what I’ve posted here 😛

The themes in the final round don’t look too bad, there are definitely a few I’d like to see chosen. Anyways, good luck to everyone!

I’m in!

Im in again, i’ll be using the code from my last LD as basecode .. C++ and SDL2 .. I’m also going to use my lame ANSI art tool to use for graphics this time

Screen Shot 2014-04-24 at 7.03.11 PM

Um, I-I’m in… I think!

I hope I’m in! My name is Shmarah and I’m a 15 year old sophomore in high school that loves game jams. This will be my 5th attempt and hopefully my 3rd success! Usually I make visual novels, but we’ll see what happens.

PlayCanvas (maybe trying it idk) but probably using Ren’py

Adobe Photoshop / Painttool Sai

Sunvox/Audacity

If anyone would like the amateur help of someone who can make somewhat decent graphics (esp. Pixel art) and chip tune music, I’m your girl!

I thank the community for your support  and send my best wishes!

Pixel^3 is in! (formally)

Jellonator, MKSTAR26, and AlucardX60, the team that brought you Boxed In ,and other games not worth mentioning, is back to light your socks on fire, or keep them on, or give them a light wash, whatever the you guys are doing with socks these days.

We will be using:

Jello (programmer):Code::Blocks for programming. I’ll be using C++ and some custom SDL engine. Windows and Linux builds are guaranteed. I have no access to a Mac so someone is going to have to do that for me.

Ace (artist): Paint.net for pixel art, Artflow, SketchBook Express, and a bit of GIMP for concept/digital art. Also I might record my work with OBS. (won’t stream because terribad internet)

MK (musician): FamiTracker/MilkyTracker for that wonderful (fake)fakebit sound

Short and sweet

I’m in, using Flixel, Photoshop, Bfxr and random generated music.

In!

My official “I’m in” post for LD29!

I’m doing the jam this time around with my good friend, Will White (of Willmanda Games). I’m super pumped because it’s been years since we collaborated on anything, and I was getting pretty lonely with my recent solo jams. We will be streaming development at http://www.twitch.tv/willmanda

I had hopes of switching up my tools this time around and having a go at Gamemaker instead of my fallback jam-and-prototype-tool, Construct 2, but some busy times came up that makes me not quiiiite confident with Gamemaker just yet, but we’ll see. And there’s always Unity as an option, I suppose.

I also have an additional personal constraint this jam. I’ve been taking an Information Theory class with Mike Acton, our Engine Director at work, and my “final” homework is to apply something I’ve learned in the class while doing the jam. Hopefully I can pull it off!

Hey ER,

Screw coding, you need to learn some English first.

I’m In! Also, what should I use to protect my work?

Hello All!

Guess who is in, this guy!

I’m not 100% sure if I’m going to do Love2D or Haxe(Punk).
However, I will be streaming(www.twitch.tv/NateAGeek).

The question I have is how do I protect my work. Now, I have seen some people use the GPL license. I just personally don’t know the exact way to implement GPL into my project… Should I use that license or do you suggest others? Please, help me… haha
