LD29 April 25–28, 2014

Base code and fonts for LD29

To avoid having to recreate some basic tk2d fonts and Unity scripts I’ve created during the past two Ludum Dares, I’ve set up a LudumDareResources repo on bitbucket.

I’ve also put up the barebones .NET application I use to create FNT files that I use with Unity 2D Toolkit under FntGenerator.

I’m not sure it’s useful to anyone else in its current state, but ideally I’d like to build upon it as I participate in more LDs.

I’m in

Hey guys, I’m in And I have Ideas for each topic in the final round of voting And my Tools for the Jam are:

Engine: Craftstudio or start from scratch

Programming Language : Java or Lua

Thats it. Good Luck guys and gals

Hello my name is Hype for Ludum Dare

Greetings all!

This will now be my 6th or 7th or 8th or something Ludum Dare.

Tools to be used:

Graphics: Paint.net and Inkscape

Audio: Audacity and maybe some kind of autotracker

Languages/Libraries: Three.js and my custom entity system engine (found here: github.com/dcolgan/ludumdare29)

I’ll be streaming from 4 or 5 hours before the contest starts until the very end.  Should be a party if you want to join at twitch.tv/dvcolgan

Getting in with the “In”

So I’m in once again, on another Jam entry with comrade Tulse Luper.

Hoping to have a slightly more relaxed time this weekend than our last entry, but still rocking out an intersting game for the Jam entry.

Anticipated tools are Unity, Blender, and whatever else we have lieing around.

In … for most of the weekend

Right, I’m in but I’m only around for approximately 0.7 weekends due to other arrangements involving the consumption of large amounts of meat in celebration of large amounts of meat.

Anyway, continuing a long standing tradition (4 times counts as a tradition right?) I’m using new tools that I have no idea what I’m doing with – this time it’s Goo Engine (html5 + webgl engine, currently in open beta) since they keep sending me emails and I’ve not really had the time to take a look at it yet, plus web stuff means more people can play which is always good.

I’m In

I’m In, yeah, sort of…

Like every time, I’ll try to make something that works, at least. However, chances are very poor that I make an astounding art piece. If I find an idea before saturday noon, it will be a great progress on my previous LDs. And if the final entry is the one I had in mind from the start, it will be a miracle. ^^

I will probably use the following softwares :

  • Haxe (and HaxePunk)
  • The Gimp and/or Inkscape
  • if I have time for sound, PixiTracker (or – if I’m optimistic – SunVox), and/or Audacity

I’m in

Hey guys, I’m in.

This will be my first solo jam. Previously I did 2 LDs with a team.

Tools will be:
-Unity 4

-Paint.NET or Gimp(depends on the art style)

-bfxr

-no music tool unfortunately…

I hope I can get some ok looking art together, since I do not have much experience in creating art.

Good luck everyone!

Fourth time in

This weekend, I’ll be participating for my fourth time. I hope everything turns out well and I’ll have enough time to create something nice and playable. This time I’ll use coffeescript, but I will stay within the browser. If I can come up with some nice “touchy” gameplay I’ll try to release it touch ready.
Since I suck at sounds, my game will either stay silent or use some generated sounds. So may I’ll use bxfr or some procedually generated sounds based on this document maybe?

Yet again, the first hours are reserved to make a more or less detailed plan of the game to avoid feature creep.

Editor: Sublime Text 2
Language: CoffeeScript
Graphics: Gimp
Sound: bxfr, LMMS (if I have plenty of time left)
Debugging: FireFox, Chromium
OS: Linux Mint (my Arch Linux pc is broken ATM so I needed a fast to install reliable replacement)

Konami code included

Tags: coffeescript, html5, konami code

So I am in! How ever briefly…

So a couple of my friends have decided to show an interest in participating i Ludum Dare, so we’re getting to together for 13 hours on Saturday and hopefully we’ll have made a game each.

Just goes to show… You can’t really quit LD 😉

So my toolset of choice is most likely going to be:

Code:

FlashDevelop with Haxe/OpenFL targetting Flash

Sound:

Bfxr, Audacity and LMMS.

Graphics:

Sculptris and Gimp

and I’ll be developing on a 32-bit Windows 8.1 8″ tablet computer, so my eyes are probably going to hate me for this :-)

My second time in

I’m here most of the week end but breaks are good to think ^^

I will certainly use javascript with WebStorm editor for code.

My graphic tools will be gimp and pyxel edit.

Don’t know for sound now. bfxr, etc… certainly

I may stream if I find time to know how to do that (have to finish onegameamonth sic) or at least I will do a timelapse.

I wish a good time to all other participants.

Doing this again

I think i know what to do, haven’t finalized the plan yet so it can still change depending on the theme.
It has to be simple though, this is LD48 after all and not LD148.

But this is the fourth time and i am exited, first one i came among the last and the trajectory is such that come this time next year i will probably win this whole thing. :)

Language: C++11
Libraries:
– OpenGL
– BASS ( for sound )
IDE:Visual C++ 2013 Express (why i didn’t switch to this before is besides me, it’s fantastic)
Basecode: i have my own with roots in the old NeHe base code with the addition of my own toolkit that i am constantly adding improvements to.
Graphics: photoshop more or less, might try out my new fancy tile editor i made, if i can ever make it work first, got about a day to do it in.

First time

Hi,

I’m in. It’s my first time and I feel like a virgin before THAT night… I guess.

Any way, I’m going to use:

code:  Flash Develop / flash/ Starling

gfx: Inkscape, Gimp

audio: still don’t have idea

tools: Tiled,  CocoStudio

Here is my code. (My own bone animation system)

Good luck and have fun!

Yes

good luck to you too:)

Another LD

As words are just lacking, let’s just do LD48 once again 😀

Language: C#

Text Editor: Sublime Text 3

Engine:  Unity

Graphics: I still have null graphical skills, so I’ll be poping blender just for geometric shapes! (unless I go nuts and meddle into unknown territory)

Audio: Another area I’m lacking in! like most of my previous LD I think I’ll just pass on it, I may or may not scream at Audacity sometimes 😐

Good luck to all and have much fun :)

In

Adding to the mess of “I’m in” posts.  I think I’ve gotten a fair bit better with my tools since last time, so this time around there should be less “figuring it out” time wasted.  I’m excited to see what the next theme is!

Software Tools:

Unity (I will list any plugins I end up using after I’m done)
Adobe Creative Suite, Audacity, FL Studio, sfxr

I’m in!

This will be my first entry.

I will use:

  • Dart programming language
  • StageXL rendering engine
  • Webstorm or/and  Dart Editor
  • Manjaro linux

My game will be on github and will be playable online.

Wohooo

First time in :)

# Engine
Godot

# GFX
PyxelEdit / Gimp or Paint.NET

# Sound
Audacity and BFXR or LabChirp

# Platform
OSX for development and maybe Windows if i need to use Paint.NET

Team Spocker IN LD29

We are officially in for our fifth Ludum Dare, although the last one ended in failure. We really liked the themes we saw, it is going to be a great weekend of Game Design. We might use this opportunity to learn the new Unity 2D features, but we know 2D Toolkit so well we don’t want to waste too much time learning a new tool.
