ShmupShifter Jam Version

I worked through today after submitting last night and made an improved version of my Compo entry ShmupShifter. Lots of polish and balance, gamepad support, a background(!), and the sound doesn’t hurt anymore, and you can select the stage and difficulty!

Remember to rate the original compo submission!

Game isn’t complete…

This is a little fail on my long way but I really happy to take part in LD. It was fully amazing to work with great motivation and check another developers’ progress. I wish all people here good luck and victory as you mean. See you in the next LD!

At last a game scene preview here:

Screenshot is great, I was looking forward to play your game. Well… Good luck next time!

I’m out :(

Bit off more than I could chew with animating, I’ll better myself though and be ready for LD36

We’re done!

After 3 hard days of work, minimal sleep, a lot of energy drinks and buckets of enthusiasm we have finally completed World Dominator!!!!!!!!!

We streamed for over 57 hours during the weekend and met some really awesome devs, it was great speaking to you all and our first experience in this community has been amazing!

Now time to get some sleep and then play all the other submissions.
We’ll see you next time!

Regards.

Shape Shifter – “Relaxed” Jam entry

This is my small platformer game I made for the relaxed jam. I wanted to do way more with it as is the case with most projects. I tried to keep it simple but thats not my style. So I ended up wit ha weird hybrid game. It has both good and bad qualities but still solid enough for an entry I feel. You control a round ball that can shift into a square and each shape has slightly different controls when jumping and moving. You must shift back and forth between shapes to progress throught the three levels.

Jeepers, that was intense! We’ve finished our entry and submitted, “No Hope in Hell” is on itch.io now. That’s our first (kind of) complete game! Looking forward to playing other peoples entries! https://team-disposable.itch.io/no-hope-in-hell

Geometer’s Folly – A game about magical shapes

Time is up on making games, and I have a thing to show for it!

I spent too long making the ground/background look nice, and implementing the shape detection, so there’s hardly any game play. Of the nine spells to cast, only two have effects, and there are only a few dumb enemies to take out.

The game page

I’m hoping to add more stuff in the future – fix the current spells, add the other spells, add enemies, polish, I even have plans for a boss!

;_; it could have been so much better…

I scoped too big and even though the game mechanics were quite fast finished….all the effort I would have needed to do to rig and animate 3 different characters + other models and not really being comfortable with Blender was too much XD

But nontheless, now I can finally model and texture with Blender ! 😀 And I learned f***ton of stuff this weekend, also, that I’m apparently loving to code if it’s for games :)

too bad I couldn’t make any music though…hope you can enjoy it anyway :)

My own game

and well…I did succeed in what I wanted to achieve: make a game with unity in 3D and use Blender and go through whole game making process again, no matter the outcome 😛

Reform

This is my first Ludum Dare entry that I made with a friend! It was a lot of fun but my head is spinning. I’m really happy with what we made so far, hope you enjoy it too! Think we may go back and finish it in the future. :)

Play the game now!

V For Virus is here !

Here we are !

72 hours of hard work for our 4th Ludum Dare, it’s been awesome but also very complicated, we were only 3 this time (at least 5 usually)…

Anyway, the game is not complete as we wanted but finished as a jam version, and our games are improving each time that we are in. Enjoy the game as we enjoyed creating it !

Mo’o . . . looks can be deceiving

We’re excited to have completed our 5th Ludum Dare Game!

This time for the ‘Shapeshift’ theme we turned to ancient Pacific folklore for inspiration. Our game, Mo’o, is based on fictional Ahua, Son of Kumu, Ali’i Nui, who must find a Human girl/wahine to be his Wife, though just getting a date to tonight’s Luau would be nice. All assets (Models, Music, Sound FX, Textures, Code, Story) made in 72 hours for LD35. We hope you enjoy the adventure.

THANKS YOU, LUDUM DARE!

Moveless Chess!

Moveless Chess is a game about redefining a chess board without moving your pieces… you just “shapeshift” them! Every piece costs Action Points (based on the Chess piece relative value).

We’ve made just one level to show the mechanics, but we’re already polishing the mechanics and reworking some game assets :) We will be working on this prototype until reaching a web and mobile release. So stay tuned!

You can play the game HERE.

Cheers! (We really need to sleep).

Didn’t Finish and Other Game Jams

I didn’t finish my game, but wouldn’t be able to deploy without a paid iOS membership anyway.  If you want to play, you can download the source and play it in Xcode.  This was my first game Jam and I was wondering what the other big game jams were?

Space Exterminator Rolling Out!

That was really intense, but we finally did it! Play our game HERE!

For now it’s windows-only, though web build will probably come in the nearest future.

CombiBox!

This has felt like the longest 72 hours ever. I’m super proud to present my first ludum dare entry: Combibox!

A huge thank you to Commie who did most of the 3d work, and Doctor Beard for his ginger goodness.

While overall I’m overjoyed with the result, there are still a few things I would like to have changed. I’d have liked to work more on the menu, and implement saving of high scores. There’s also a few physics issues here and there that still need ironing out.

Things learned for next time:

  1. Art smart not hard. I spend about 5 hours making those boxes and their textures – and they still have terrible bakes
  2. Unity’s PBR is your friend (especially if you suck at painting)
  3. Consider the effort to payout ratio of everything before doing it
  4. Make a proper plan
  5. Follow it

I’d love to head what you think: try it here

GUNKOUR 3d platformer thing.

Fight the army of hell in 3D or something.

Ok, it’s just a tech demo at this point. No shapeshifting, just GUNKOUR and demons.

First time working with 3d after many years of 2d, always wanted to make a 3d platformer 😀
I’ve used unity and a bunch of my 2d libs – sprite system, explosions system, grass and hair tech (converted from 2d to 3d).
Most of the time was spent making character controller and learning how 3d rotation works. Also i’m really slow at texturing things.
