LD35 April 15–18, 2016

I’M IN!!!

I’m very excited to be teaming up with my wonderful girlfriend to make a game! She is the artist, writer, and musician. I’m just the humble code monkey.

Unfortunately Dark Souls 3 had me in it’s claws all week. It’ll take everything I got to put it down tonight and get prep’d for the weekend.

What I’ll be using
Engine: Unity 5 with Visual Studio Community
Graphics: Photoshop
Audio: Audacity / BFXR / BeepBox
Code Repo: Git
Planning and Design: Google Docs
Team file sharing: Dropbox

I’m in!

Time for another Ludum Dare!

Here’s what I’ll be using (primarily):

Construct2 – Game development tool

LSDJ – GameBoy music and sound effect composition program

SFXR – Sound effect generator. (Sometimes you just want an explosion sound effect)

Aseprite – Pixel art creation tool

itch.io – Fantastic video game host

Wish me luck!

I’m in!

Sup!

I just want to say that I’m in for the first time ever!
I’m going to use UE 4.

Good luck to all of you.

We’re In

I’m in for my first Ludum Dare working with two friends. Should be a great experience and I’m looking forward to the ride!

Lets go!!

Plan on using:

Eclipse

Java – LWJGL (maybe Slick, I’ll see how I feel and what the theme is).

Audacity and BFXR

PyxelEdit

Team Radioactive Starfish in it for the 1st time!

In it for the first time!

The team consists of three 3rd year design students from the University of Bolton in the UK.

Nathaniel Tyler Jones – @NathanielTylerJ

Tom Pugh – @TomPugh1112

Brad Woodman – @BradWoodman_

We’ll all be posting updates both on here and  twitter during the Jam to show you whats being made and to keep people up to date for feedback and advice.

We’re really looking forward to getting involved and trying to make something cool over the weekend. Going to make a snack run now so we’re all stocked up for the weekend.  😉

I’m in… Probably.

I have lurked in this game jam community for about a year or so, and have actually try make some silly game in the last couple event but didn’t  finish it in time. So, I’ll consider this event as my first ludum dare challenge, and I have to finish it for sure this time!

The tools I’ll be using are:

  • Engine
    • RPG Maker VX Ace
  • Graphichs / Art
    • Clip Studio Paint
    • Aseprite
  • Sound / SFX
    • Boscaceoil
    • SFXR

P.S.

I’ll do compo, but if I didn’t make it probably will submit it as a jam.

I’m basically an artist and not a programmer, hence I do with an engine that have no coding or programming required like rpgmaker.

I guess I’m joining

No plans this weekend, So I guess I’m in. I’ll be working with a friend to make a game for this.

We’ll be using:

  • Game Maker Studio
  • Aseprite
  • FamiTracker
  • Bfxr

Never actually made a game or joined a game jam but I’ve tinkered with Game Maker for a while now.

Good luck everyone!

I’m in for the Compo

What the title says.

Well, this is gonna be my 4th LD  Compo so far. My first two were made from scratch using Java and OpenGL, and did not go so well. Last time I used Unity to make my entry Torque, which I think turned out really well and ranked 64th place in fun!

Now This time I will be using the beta Unity version on Linux…. I know, I know, you never want to use beta releases in a LD, but I think it should turn out fine. I was able to put my last entry into the workspace and it all worked fine with no crashing. Plus I have everything ready to go on windows too in case it doesn’t work out.

Also, I’ll be using LMMS to make music this time. Now, all my past games have had no music, only the last one had sound at all. So lately I’ve been tinkering with LMMS and am completely overwhelmed by it and have only made one song (more of a tune). But anyways I do have the capability to make music now, and if I somehow come up with a song in the middle of it all, I’ll be fine.

Yeah….. don’t hold your breath on it though.

Anyways here is what I’ll be using:

Linux (Ubuntu 14.04),

Windows 10 (In the event that things go horribly wrong with Linux unity),

Unity,

SFXR,

LMMS,

GIMP,

Blender,

MonoDevelop

I’m in for LD

This will be my first LD, I have entered in 2 mLDs, and now I am entering the LD Jam with my cousin Josh who is going to compose the soundtrack for the game. It looks like I might have to do the art myself

:scared:

I’m gonna be using: Unity3d, and probably Paint.NET. Let’s do this!!!!!

Resistance is futile

I haven’t had the pleasure of doing a full commitment in at least a year. Finally, the time has come. All the stars are aligned and I’m ready to “bust a move”. The gravity of this event is simply too much to resist for too long. I won’t have enough time to learn a new framework, so I’ll stick with what I know.

Development stack:
– Pyxel Edit (for sprites)
– Atom (for code)
– Building my own js framework (it’s time I rewrote that monolithic thing I usually use)
– ReactJS (if I have the occasion to)
– TypeScript (if I really want to branch out and try something new)
– Ukulele (for music)

I feel like I’m missing something. I’m sure I’ll figure it out :) everything will be from scratch this time! Maybe I’ll even do a bit of streaming.

Good luck! May the force be with us all.

I’m in!

I’ll be using the Godot game engine and gimp or Inkscape for anything gfx. Let’s do this, good luck everyone!

I’m in !

First LD for me, so let’s try to have something to publish at the end of the weekend :)

Working with web technologies, JavaScript everywhere, I think. The internet is my Codebase ! 😀

I’ll be joining the compo

This is my 7th time joining Ludum Dare, and 6th time joining the compo.

What i’ll be using:

  • Engine : Unity
  • IDE : Visual Studio 2015
  • 2D Graphics : Aceprite / Gimp / Paint.net
  • 3D Graphics : Blender / VoxelShop
  • Sounds / SFX: BFXR, Audacity, MilkyTracker or my Guitar

Good luck y’all!

Obligatory “I’m in” post incoming!

Haven’t decided if i want to jam or compo yet. We’ll see!

Anyways.. I’ll be using Unity and FL Studio. Expect some awesome soundtracks! 😉

Good luck! Over and out!

Getting ready

3rd LD for me, let’s see :)

Preparing for LD35

Gonna participate

First gig here. Will be doing art with a friend doing the programming. Hopefully me and my friend will end up with something passable that we can learn from.

Cheers people!

Participating

I’ll participate in the LudumDare GameJam this weekend in a group of three. I’ll take care of the art and music.

Probably in

I’m going to try to participate again.  Haven’t had much success the last few times, but we’ll see.

The tools I use:

  • Monkey-X
  • Fireworks for graphics
  • autotracker.py for music
  • sfxr for sound effects
  • Tiled if I need a map or something.
  • VLC Media player for converting audio/video formats
  • GifCam for creating animated gifs to share progress
  • Github for source code maybe

Think that’s it.

I’m in!

Ready to go this weekend! Here’s my basic toolset:

  • Unity 3d
  • GarageBand
  • Pixen

Gonna try to step it up a bit from my last Unity entry since I’ve learned a lot more. I haven’t got the most time on my hands though, so we’ll see how it pans out!
