Source Code For Gamemaker

I’m not sure what i’m doing rite now, or even if anybody can read this. i just want to ask this question in a forum

but can’t find one. Anyway…

How would you go abouts submitting your source code for gamemaker for the compo?

I don’t use gamemaker, but I believe in the rules it says you submit the project file as source code.

I’m in!

Programming: Unity3D
Audio: bfxr, Audacity

Good luck everyone!

We eager to try our best!

We are three it students from Estonia. Plan is to meet up and create 2.5D-ish game using Unity. Some of us have previously taken part of Ludum Dare.

What we’ll use:

  • Unity
  • Git (Bitbucket)
  • GIMP
  • both Windows and Linux
  • Maybe we’ll find some sound effects somewhere online

People:

  • ervion – Has taken part of Ludum Dare multiple times actually. No better than the first time.
  • kessutinnu – Half-artist, half-programmer. Extraordinary optimist.
  • GaugeAnomaly – Has experiences with unreal, opengl and other kinda low level stuff. Determined to make “cool” anything he is taking part of.

I’m in!

Have an audio guy on my team this time!

I’m in again

For the nth time in the Jam. The last few times I’ve managed to actually get stuff out the door which is more fun than just having learnt stuff!

This time both my kids (10 & 12 years old) will be helping out over the weekend.

Tooling:

Superpowers game engine & IDE

Typescript

Inkscape

Bfxr

Generated music

So…is doing this thing on your own worth it?

I’ve had Ludem Dare in my plans for months and I had talked about it with many people however, as the day has come, no one is free any more! Can I ask – is GameJamming on your own missing the point of what a GameJam is supposed to be? Is it common?

I (and I daresay most people) always do this on my own. It really just depends on what you want out of it.

I did the last one by myself, but was in the IRC channel, that helped a lot for helping keep hype up. It’s definitely worth it, IMO. Also, if the only point was to be with other people in the same room, why do it online?

I usually go solo, and will be doing so again this time. Believe it or not, Ludum Dare was originally a solo-only event- the solo event survives as the Compo, while the Jam (which allows you to work in teams) was added later. So no, it is not missing the point. The point can be to improve your skills as a game developer, to make a prototype for something you want to build upon, just to have fun, or anything else you think it can do for you.

Nope, you’re not missing the point. The entire purpose of LD is to test your skills, see what you can put out under the pressure of a time limit and theme, and of course have fun! There are so many people out there that solo, myself included, and honestly I’d say probably the majority of LDers solo.

I’m in

Well, I’m literally making this post five hours before the competition starts. In any case, this will be my fourth time entering Ludum Dare, yay 😀

I will be using:

-Java as my preferred language

-Slick2D for a library

-MS Paint / GIMP for graphics. Yeah, sophisticated, I know…

-Eclipse for an IDE

Best of luck to everyone, I hope you’re as excited as I am :)

Proud & Loud!

I’m entering the compo under a new name, Broken Leaf Studios! While I’ll be participating alone, I’m proud to be representing a studio formed between a close friend and I! Wish me luck, and give me a visit at brokenleafstudios.com!

I’m In!

I guess I’m in!

My project is going to be on the Unity 5 engine.

It gets tense waiting. Good luck everyone!

Let us Ludum

In for Ludum THIRTY-FIVE

I’m getting too old for this shit  :)

Good luck guys!

Guess I’m in!

Haven’t done much game dev in a while, but I love doing this. Keeps those skills sharp 😉

I’m in!

I’m going for it. Not done this before but I’ll see how things go.

Using TypeScript and Phaser and whatever else comes to hand.

I’m in!

This will be my second time.

Tools:

The graphic tools depends of what I will make.

  • PyxelEdit, Inkscape, Gimp, Aseprite and Krita

I’m in

I’m in (for the compo). It’s been a while since I’ve successfully completed a ludum dare, so hopefully things will work out this time around.

I’ll be using Unity 5, photoshop for art, and probably Sony Vegas for any sfx editing.

Glad to be back!

It’s been well over a year since I last had the time to do one of these, and clearly Ludum Dare is more important than doing my Masters project 😛

This time I’m gunna have some fun and make a game with a tool I’ve never worked with before – PICO-8. I’ve loved the look of PICO-8 for a long time now and been wanting to try it out. For added challenge I’m only going to work with the in-house tools it provides, which means coding on a tiny low res screen!

And of course, I’ll be streaming the whole thing. Probably won’t record a timelapse this time, but if you want to watch my progress, check out twitch.tv/bollard some time tomorrow morning (UK time).

I’m In!

Been looking forward to another Ludum Dare, almost forgot to post the customary ‘I’m In!’ message 😀

I’ll be sticking to nice and familiar Javascript and will be using Atom as my code editor. Looking forward to trying out some procedural sound generation I’ve been learning how to do.

Far too tired right now, will be off to bed so that I can get up 6am local time tomorrow to get cracking!

We are in!

Me and my friend are joining the Jam.

We will program in Java

We will use Eclipse, Paint.net, SFXR

My tools for LD35

Great, I have no other obligations this weekend, so let’s go!

Preparing the gear for the compo

Preparing the gear for the compo

This is the content of my toolbox. I’ll probably not use of them, but we’ll see.

Game engine: Unity 5.3.2

Programming language: C# (for Unity scripting), Python (for any other scripting needs)

Text editor/IDE: Vim with the OmniSharp plugin

Graphics: Gimp, Blender, Camera on my Nexus 5

Audio: Zoom H2N, Garageband, Bfxr, Audacity

Other tools: Git, GNU Make

Computer: MacBook Pro

Success is the only option with this toolbox! :-)

I’m in!

I’m gonna join my first Ludum Dare! I’m torn between an rpg/platformer or a text adventure of some kind… I guess I’ll figure it out when the theme comes out!

I’m going to be using Love2d, Photoshop, and Audacity to create my game.

Goodluck everybody!
