Alpha, Beta, Gamma radiation added!

screeny2

So I’ve made a little progress…

It may be hard to see, but in the bottom left corner, there is a big block of plutonium(not accurately drawn I know). It emits the 3 types of radiation (alpha, beta, gamma). The blue/red one is alpha, green is beta, and the zig-zag purple one is gamma(which fades slowly but drains the framerate so badly, so expect it to change).

Also, the blocks block (get it?) the different types of radiation as they should do- i.e. the white blocks alpha, aluminium blocks alpha and beta, and the concrete blocks all.

Other note: the texture for concrete has changed as I have decided to change it to lead to differentiate it more from the aluminium block.

Good luck!

Enemies

I’ve added enemies for each area: a blob for land, a pufferfish for water, and a bat for air. These are pictured below.

(Sorry they’re a bit small :P)

We’re actually here

MM_screenshot

Hi everyone.

Didn’t say anything because… well we’ve been too busy prototyping. Now we can release a screenshot of the game, formerly inspired by Mad Max: Fury Road, and now… well, we decided to change the art and setting like… 100%

Hopefully we’ll show the new direction in the next post. For now just imagine we are making a game about exploding truks. Wich we aren’t. And that some trucks were shapeshifters (your, basically). Well, we’re making this game, just in another setting.

IN SPACE 😀

I’m in! First LD!

Excited for this! Working on a platformer with a fun twist! We will see how it goes!

We’re in!

Hello everyone!

This is our first Ludum Dare and we hope we can finish our game on time. Here’s the main hero of our game. Hope you guys will enjoy it!

Hero

Good luck to you all!

Unhealthy

Here’s the concept: Normally your firing rate is low (once per .75 seconds, to be exact). You can use right click to switch to a super-powered form (highlighting the player in green), which shoots at incredible speed! But, of course there’s a catch: bullets fired in super form leach off of your health. This combination of mechanics leads to some interesting strategic decisions.

Next up: enemy waves, game over screen, and non-placeholder sprites.

Sell Your Creations

Hey everybody!

This Ludum Dare is coming up super quick and it is going to be a good one I can feel it! Everybody who participates is a champion and deserves recognition for creating such wonderful things for people to use! The rest of the world have a hard time realizing the amount of effort, work and creativity put into every game made ever,ESPECIALLY indie games. I am an indie developer myself and I love creating software for people to use for little to no charge, its just the sheer pride i take in my creations and being able to help people.

I have created an online indie game marketplace where you indie developers can go and sell your games FOR FREE!(no hosting or submission fees) I had launched the website back in January and from then had nothing but a positive experience. I do not charge the developers on my website, I encourage as many games as possible to be posted, I deal with getting the users to buy and play the games.

To Mioti Games

A user of my website, Blockout22, and I have been in the works of creating a launcher for my website, and it is currently in heavy development, but works! It is made in java and will be free forever!

If you would like to be a tester for us, Download the Launcher Here

Happy developing everybody, I can’t wait to play your games!

We get it. You don’t have to send the exact same text every hour and take up the space of the actually interesting content that people are making.

progress report 1

I have a block system set up for the player, still placeholder art, and no dragging animations yet.

Quick Rules Question

Can i make an 8-bit version of a mozart song and than use that as background musik, or would that be against copyright or any other rules?

Classic music is in the open domain, so it shouldn’t break any copyright.

The other key word here is make. If you make it you can use it. But like AlceX says, you want to avoid covering copyrighted works. It’s not specifically against the rules, but a good practice in general.

Emotional robotics

Was modelling a simple robot, using a single prototype texture, and it seems my creation wasn’t really amused about it:

Well Shoot!

Status Update 1: I downloaded OBS and found out, belatedly, that I can’t actually use it to capture my game in progress for some reason. :\ It won’t capture the output from the LIBGDX stuff.

Status Update 2: Got some of the logic done now! This is my first attempt at using Box2D and it’s looking pretty good I think:

The player (the circle in the center) is pursued by the big circle. The big circle will follow a path (of the smaller brown circles) until it sees the player. Then it’ll chase until the player is out of sight.

The  shapeshifting will come in shortly with the player changing shape: “Attack Form” which can jump onto to attack a human and absorb their essence (for upgrades?); “Running Form” which is the current one, meant to be able to navigate the vents (smaller passages);  “Hiding Form” which turns the player into an immobile object that MIGHT convince the enemy units that it’s not a monster (which allows attack form to get off an attack instantly if they get too close); and “Human Form” which turns the player into a humanoid that might pass for one of the humans (I’m thinking that this form will allow for a ranged attack like humans have.)

I’m also planning on trying to implement little ‘event’ objects to make it so that running causes sound that will attract guards, guards can ‘yell’ to summon other guards, etc. We’ll see. After I do the shape shift mechanics.

Here is it action. With undo and fill feature! Good thing is I can use this thing on my other projects too. I should get down to buisness now. I mean making the game B).

Animation

My first time doing a ludum dare. It’s supposed to become some sort of auto-scrolling physics based platformer thingy, idea is each shape has different properties and you have to switch between them to maintain maximum speed and efficiency with the ultimate goal of avoiding dying a painful death. I sorta like how it plays, now if only I had some actual levels.
