Cottage – DEVLOG ONE

You was betrayed by humanity!

And not just once…

So, you decided to move to small cottage in the woods. You decided to build your own small world. World without humans. World without betrayal.

But… After few days, you figured out one weird thing. You are not alone! Now, you must defend your small world!

Aaaand, here is some making of! This time how i drawed and animated main character.

It was really time consuming so i am not sure if i release another videos before end of this LD.

Also, check original post on LDJAM site!

Im ROCKING AND ROLLING

My game is going well and working great!! Its a tribute to my friend who just past last night

We're making lots of progress. We will not be able to add everything we could want to, but it's a start. Here's a cute screenshot.

About 12 hours later...

I got something I'm kinda proud of!

I managed to add all the features I wanted for my game, a weird face-blindness simulator that will frustrate you at best, make you throw your computer through your window at worse.

Tomorrow I'll tweak some of the features, but mostly work on graphics and sounds to replace those awful placeholders!

Some screenshots, including a fanart of Supergirl because my streams are always kinda wtf: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C-CrCL2XgAAzZNQ.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C-CrDFYXkAI_2QH.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C-CrEGhW0AEn6op.jpg

I hope you're having fun and you're not forgetting to get some rest!

See you tomorrow!

Still truckin'

Mechanics are developing nicely! Trying to remind ourselves that polish items come last!!

Just like starting over

After struggling to come up with an idea for the first 21 hours of the compo (which included a good night's sleep, to be fair) the idea I came up with did not have any fun in it.

So I made a commit which just deleted everything (felt kind of good!). it's back to struggling to come up with an idea. Wooooo.

Assets!!!

End of Day1 - situation update

It's time for me to clock out for the day. The current progress can be seen in the screenshot below. I added ship waves and finished the texturing on all meshes.

http://www.sourcedrive.net/LD38/endofday1.png

Today I have mostly been working on visuals and assets. Tomorrow I'll have to finish up the core gameplay loop ASAP before attempting to do any more visual polish.

Like these things normally go, when working with your own tools you end up spending way too much time figuring out some bizarre edge case you have never encountered before. In this case I have found bugs both in the skybox rendering and in how SSAO is applied. Still, working with your own tools means you don't have to read docs all the time as you know most things by heart.

All in all, I am fairly happy with today's progress. Tomorrow will be an interesting day. Sleep tight (whenever it is your time to do that) and good luck with your games!

Beginnings of my first Ludum Dare game

First time participating! Using Game Maker: Studio and threw together a bit of a prototype for the game I'm thinking about making. Don't have the details down yet, but I'm sure it'll turn out ok-ish. Screenshot!

Thieves, it's a small world

I didn't start program yet, but here are the mockups that I need :D https://snag.gy/SRoYsf.jpg

Hats!

Not much to show with pretty gifs, we’re implementing multiplayer (gasp!) and having dinner.

So take 2 screenshots of something that makes every game 20% cooler: hats!

Racing For Results

Last night we finished concept design and modeled out a rough idea of the characters. Today we're working on game mechanics and I'm scripting out what audio we need to record... And giving myself a crash course on various programs I've never worked with before. This is my first Jam but my partner is a seasoned LD veteran.
