I'm In! With Problems Ha!
We are working on Space Junkies.
We are working on Space Junkies.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
I just added a day / night cycle! All the tiles/objects darken when it is about to become night time, and lighten when it becomes day time! The schedule is: 190 seconds day time, 20 seconds day-to-night transition, 70 seconds night time, 20 seconds night-to-day transition! A total of 300 seconds (5 minutes) for a full day-night cycle! All of that isn't hard coded, and I can change the values any time I want, so improvements can still be made on that part! :sunny: / :crescent_moon:
Thats enough coding for one day, still away to go but its almost playable ;)

Work in progress, but check it. https://fat.gfycat.com/BronzeForcefulHellbender.webm
Apparantly I need to make a post like this to be officially in this jam. This is my first time at Ludum Dare and I am working alone on a game about two people wandering a small world.
Came up with an idea last night, started getting to work on it this morning. It's a 3D platformer/twin-stick shooter with an isometric camera where the entire level is visible at all times
Here's a gif of what I've done so far: http://i.imgur.com/urrqOBk.gif
That was a rough day. It's time to load batteries. Few hours of sleep and I'm back. Goodluck to all who are staying late!
We think we have a solid idea and we're all heads down doing work.
Only programming art for now, but we'll get there eventually http://ludum-dare-38.fborn.com/
Some of us are streaming on Twitch: http://ludum-dare-38.fborn.com/streams/
This is my 1st Ludum Dare, and, unfortunately, I can't dedicate the majority of the weekend to jammin'. So, please be gentle! I'll be making a web game with...
Here we go.

Black holes and nuclear missile launchers are important elements for any game.
There's a human and AI player, and they can have stats and own buildings. And their buildings show up in their team colour, yay!
The buildings remind me of Sim City 1.1 zones...
On a more serious note, I can start doing gameplay stuff with player stats now

Or at least I would, except I can't figure out how on this new site! D:
Wanted to show off the art that Arlen completed. We're doing a planetary tower defense game, where swarms of bugs fly in to attack the sun. Satellites, moon bases, rings, and other fancy gizmos help the planets protect the system.
A (very scaled down) sample of what the game will look like, with finalized planets, moons, satellites: http://i.imgur.com/5bZTXAf.png

I lost about half an hour due to a physics bug that I was struggling to fix but I figured it out and I'm back on track!
Discovered a bug, game crash if it tries to render an unit without a texture
So, don't try to render an unit without a texture
I could fix it, like check if an unit has at least one texture
But that's an expensive test
jk, it's not
But fuck that
Animals with basic AI are implemented. They hunt when they get hungry, they reproduce when they're happy and die when die are killed in battle.
