Starting slow
For my second compo, I had a really hard time figuring an idea. After a lot of hours I have a small game mechanic. Now, it's not yet a game but let's see were things go.

We are in for the Jam! Going for the team thing this time!
Working with CocosSharp/Mono and the usual gimp/notepad++ etc
My friend and me will try to be in time with our first jam
I just wasted 3 hours looking for an error that doesn't exist. Now I'm having time problems.

Which still look quite bad. Especially when you completely flood your planet, you have a spiky planet that is completely blue (the water is only a change to the texture)... Not sure how I would fix that. I've toyed with the idea of making the whole planet and asteroids 3D, but that seems like too much effort
I'm still not sure about the rainbowy path prediction, I don't think it's really stylish, but helpful for knowing if you are actually going to hit your target

Music in the way.
My usual schedule is nocturnal, so I wrapped up my first day around 7 am. About to get started on day two, but here's yesterday's progress:

I'm mildly pissed that these images don't embed. Anyone know how to make it work?

The Plant-o-pedia is the best friend for scientists who want to research new plants. It will automatically update when a new plant is found and provides hints for unknown ones. :seedling:

I spent one full day telling myself that I wouldn't be able to make anything worthwhile to someone else's time but you know what, whatever, I'm doing it :fist:.
I hope people don't mind literariness because with the -1 day handicap I gave myself, my game will have to be just about an actual small world , creativity ought to wait for another day.
So far I have created... * A rough game idea * A basic menu system * Some vague (and terrible) concept art * One piece of music (which sounds post-gamey) * A couple of click sound effects
External stuff I've used so far: * JQuery * Howler.js * Google Fonts
Not a terrible start but I really need to get a move on! Some of the other stuff here looks fantastic already! :grinning: I'm hoping I have enough time at the end to do some voice stuff.
Some of the mechanics are done, I hoped I'd progress more and have all the mechanics set before the end of my first day, but, hey again, for my first Ludum Dare and my first game maybe it was better than expected.
At least now I can make the ants walk in line, they almost look like real ants (obviously not)!

I'm getting more and more confident with Phaser JS and this was maybe the most important reason why I joined LD: getting to know better the tools I want to use.
So I call it a success so far!
Time to go to bed and sleep well. Tomorrow I'll have a long walk with my wife and my dogs, then keep coding in the afternoon.
P.S. I noticed that the more things I do the more productive I am, I think that if I was coding all day long I would have done much less than what I actually accomplished
This Ludum Dare has been going incredibly well, it’s been much more relaxed than my previous ones and I’m really enjoying it (it’s also going to be my first compo entry!)
I finally have most (if not all) gameplay mechanics implemented and have currently been working on UI and art polish. Tomorrow, I plan on making the character model and adding audio to the game!

I'm totally in and whatnot. Furthermore I ENTIRELY understand how ldjam.com works.
Finished for the day! The game will be a puzzle day based on terraforming little planets. I'm well behind of schedule, but I'm heading to sleep nevertheless.

Let's see what I can come up with tomorrow…
A little late but still plenty of time to get something complete in 51 hours time! Time to get my #GameDev on!
There's a crowd hoping for a payback  :palm_tree:
