End of first day

I'm finally done on the first day. It actually took me a while to get going and I had a very long breaks in between which you will see in the time lapse once I publish it. I'm really looking forward to making extra game play tomorrow. Holy cow Apple voice recognition works really really well .... why am I still typing, ever?

B-Mox: UI Progress

Working on the energy readout. Unfortunately the PixiJS bitmap font situation is awful, so the numbers will not be easy.

Anyway, have a look! https://webmshare.com/play/JeyGW :smile_cat:

Start: Day 2

Wooo, got sleep! Here’s where we got up to last night. So far most of the game is in a prototype stage except for the actual simulation. Where the menu disappears, all your ships and the enemy ships come on screen to do battle around your planet. Anyway, that’s happening today. Good luck to everyone!

What we made in the first 12 hours of the compo.

Traaaaaaaash start

And not in the good way. Unable to come up with a game idea, I decided to just start and see where the code would lead me (12h after the jam started!! :( :( ). Well, It lead me to try and create a flight game ( again ) .

Here's what I have now. https://puu.sh/vt113/f313b20024.png

Day 1: Tired

14hrs of fun - Understand some of the basics of the unity engine. - Implemented player - Enemy class, - Procedurally Generated Level, - Pickups

1° Day

Almost Done

Some Music

https://soundcloud.com/geeeron/ld38-battle-theme-v I want to rest from the code for a moment, so i decided to do some music for the game :D

Time to sleep

Whole day of programming only to implement battle system. Should've never choose to make rpg. jrpg_screen.png

Game Concept

Along with @gabester on music and @gabi on visuals, I'm making a 2 player, competitive, physics-y local PVP game. Players will jump from planet to planet, gaining points based on the size of the planet they land on. After each landing, the planet will get smaller and will be worth less points.

Currently I'm working on bitmap support, as I'm coding everything from scratch. Next up is audio support, and then game logic.!

Here's a rough mockup of what we're envisioning:

Day 1 progress.

My concept wasn't that hard, so I'm taking my time. Had to get back into Unity, but it went quite smoothly. Ended up being able to finish the core mechanic. Tomorrow is some art, sound and and maybe a power-up or two. I don't want to add a lot of mechanics though because I want to focus on polish for this jam. I might try my hand at art, but we will see!\

At any rate, see you tomorrow.
