Hmm... Multiplayer or Puzzle?

Now that I have my mechanics down, I have realized I probably could turn the game into a fun multiplayer game. But, I think it could also be a good puzzle game. With multiplayer, I'd have less levels to make, but would have to worry about how many play it...

Switcheroo

Doing the old "change game midway through Ludum Dare" trick!

Because no, I never learn.

Oh well! This one's a bullet hell staged around a planet; you have to move around a planet to destroy an alien mothership, while bullet hell rages around you.

I have player movement and shooting done; working on making some enemy bullet patterns!

Sleep time...

finaly made my indirect control mechanic work...

Made progress

Made a bit of progress with my little Pico-8 game. Play it over here.

A post

8:09 PM making a pot of coffee. Here we go

Saturday

I spent the beginning of the day deciding what I would build ... I knew I wanted to build some sort of sandbox or tower defense like game. It is ending up being a crafting, surviving, defense game. The player maintains an ant colony.

Tech: Unity, Photoshop and Audacity

Here is a test scene for characters...

Progress

I have no idea what I'm doing. 2017-04-22em20h14/em59.png

New enemy type in Leucos!

He is appropriately called "Bouncer", and while the other guys will try to damage the central organ thingy, he will try (and probably succeed) to make you fall off the platforms. It's a nice way to distract the player from just shooting everything. bouncer_pic.PNG

OMG what am I doing!

I'm just about to throw in the towel on this one. My little card game is soooooooooo far behind. Simplest of mechanics are causing me the biggest of headaches. Think I'll try to sleep on it for 5 or 6 hours, maybe inspiration will come in a dream.

Terrain colors

My sheep now have some colorful terrain to physics around in. This looks better in motion, I promise.

This time I resisted and left the integration of graphics for second day.

Meanwhile Iñigo is working on the art that looks great

Day One - Progress!

Most of the mechanics are done, but it's still looking a bit bare and has no fail/win conditions, here's to a massive crunch tomorrow!day_1.PNG

Freestyling on

Halfways the competition now, time to sleep, but not before I wrote down my progress. So far there is an introduction animation about Tiny Planet Corp, an industry corporation that sends out its Drill Bear employees to dig into tiny planets and extract the core crystal.

Ok, continuing tomorrow on the actual digging :).

End of Day 1

So the first of our three days started out with defining our idea and gathering our assets. Then we were faced with issues with our repository system but we managed to hit our goals for the day regardless. Issues always present themselves but the key is to not panic and attempt to make up for lost time. Our basic controls are now done

Worked on:

-some sprites and backgrounds

-base for bosses (easy to add more limbs and segments now)

-some music

-walking for the hero (keyboard or gamepad)

-camera movement!

Doing well so far

Really good progress so far, I have most of the main mechanics in my game already. So I'll have plenty of time to do some polish tomorrow. I might even have time for a proper tutorial, although I think most of my time will be spent doing some UI
