All done! Enjoy RogueZilla!

It's hard to hide when the world appears small! Help G'zilla on the journey to find the perfect hiding place!

scr_1.jpg

This is a side-scrolling platform shooter sort of deal, where you have to avoid search helicopters and tackle military strikes once you're detected!

::CONTROLLS - A and D to move left and right. - W and S to hide behind obstacles. - SPACE to jump. - LEFT MOUSE to shoot laser. - RIGHT MOUSE to shoot fire. - ESC to close app.

::HINTS - The higher your heat, the more enemies will spawn once you're detected! - Heat will rise higher if you use much fire, try to pass obstacles by jumping! - Shooting search helicopters generates heat, try hiding instead!

I'm out

So 3 hours ago I came home from school to find out that my pc just wont start for some reason! And now I have an almost finished game with only a pause menu to make and a reward system to finish on the pc that I can't turn on... I needed like an hour maybe for that and then I could have just crunched out the levels... But because it wont start I guess my first Ludum dare entry will have to be in 4 months 😏

Cutting it close! 3 hours left, we need 3 more coding puzzles and an ending scene! w/@paste0x78 #trustmeitfitsthetheme

Sadly, we're out.

We would like to have finished, but we decided on an idea that was too large for the allotted timeframe. In the end, I learned a lot about working in a team (and leading one at that), as well as learning how difficult it can be to really create a game, especially if you think too big. It was fun and an awesome learning experience, but sadly, we're withdrawing from the jam.

Save A Small World - All Done!

Our entry is up!

SaveASmallWorld_Game.jpg

I'm quite happy - I think we've managed a decent attempt at a match 3. Also the code isn't as complete a mess as is usually the case with our jam entries, so we could take this project and run with it to get something published for the first time.

SGFactory is finished!

did not have too much time this weekend (real life... yuk) but i got something done!

enjoy SGFactory

Suds of War has now been submitted. Feel free to take a look at it here.

o is now released!

This is my second attempt at LD38, and I've got to say, I really like how it turned out!

You control a tiny circle in a small planet, that is constantly shrinking. You have to kill some enemies for the world to grow a bit, but when you do, the world shrinks faster. You can play the game here. Have fun!

Here's a gif of the whole game. It's too big for the website to handle, so you'll have to go to the link yourself.

Post-Mortem-Thing - His own small World

Here is my personal Post-Mortem about our game. - You can find it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/$20912

The theme was kind of "meh" so .... yeah. At the beginning I liked our game idea. In the middle I hated it absolutly and today, on the last day I had a positive feeling. I learned a lot, I had a lot of "practice" in creating pixelart stuff. And the game IDEA was really good in my head.

But at the end we had to cut off a lot of ideas. So there is just the real main mechanic in the game. We had a few graphical issues do deal with, but we didnt get into it. So there're graphical glitches in the game which is frustrating. But yeah ... There is the finished game with his main mechanic. Which means everything is ok at the end.

What was good: - timemanagment - finalized the main gameplay feature idea really quick - (for us) content creation was good and fast - there is music in there :D - teamwork was fantastic (as always I want to say) - we gained a lot of new experience

What went wrong: - inital game idea was to big / to much - underestimated the bunch of graphical content - graphical quality in general - there is no sound-effect :(

Overall: - we have to gain more experience about graphics overall (pixelart / shader stuff / button creation / maybe modelling etc.) - there're some topics in Unity to learn more about - that was the wrong type of game for us. We need more "german-typical" games :D - leveltransitions - next time we want some soundeffects in the game - hopefully a better theme (lol - why is he hoping for something like that :'D ) - get into particle-effects in Unity

And the main-overall-point-thingy-thing: Ludum Dare is always a bunch of fun. See you next time :)

Please. Dig it.

That is all.

Slipped in a little bit more content

Was able to get a little update pushed out that put in a bit more content (two more disaster types) and of course a few tweaks. The game is far from perfect, it's amazing how quickly things get very complicated when you go down the simulation route (even a silly simulation). I'm just happy it turned out to be playable at all!

Carcinogenocide is done!

DQWVJ%2F.jpg

It is finally finished! Yayyy! And of course with minimal bug testing... :stuckouttonguewinkingeye:

*The game can be downloaded here: https://ebbasuke.itch.io/carcinogenocide *

I'm pretty pleased with the art, and the game runs pretty ok. We'll probably try to get a web-version to work as well, and fix some minor bugs, if we have the energy.

I spent this day mostly painting the main menu illustration (above), it took about eight hours. Then I did some UI art and made a death animation for the player character (though it doesn't show that well). Oh! I also made some sound effects, but not all of them made it to the game.

But, I'm glad we finished the game without big stress. :relaxed:
