My Life the next 48 hours
Using Unity3D, GIMP, Blender (if 3d)
I wanted to have my Hackintosh install completed by the compo, but looks like I’ll be Windoz’ing it for this LD.

Raided the local Asian market for random drinks, white rabbit candies, seaweed crackers, and some fruit! Now maybe I should see if I get a window up using SFML…

This is really just a slightly better organized version of the same basecode I’ve been using for a while now, but here it is anyways as per the rules.
http://wombat.platymuus.com/dl/ludum/base_20.zip
Includes LibMuus and my barebones LD20 project. Though the rules require me to make it public I’d prefer you didn’t try to actually use LibMuus for anything, as it’s mostly my personal mini library.
So under an hour left and there are no pictures of cats. So, here are pictures of my two cats:

They may look sweet, but trust me, they're bastards.
So now that that’s out of the way, here’s what I plan on using during the compo:
I might make a timelapse, but no promises. Good luck, everyone!
I’m starting with a pretty empty pallette, but I will probably end up using something from in my little code library, so here it all is
http://tenfiftyfour.com/ludumdare/basecode/
Nothing crazy, nothing superspecial, but there’s a few timesavers here and there.
Gluck all.
I am SO in. As per usual, tools and basecode and stuff:
Language: Processing
Framework: My own, available here
Sound: sfxr and Audacity
Music: Famitracker and/or PXTone
Graphics: GIMP, or more likely circles and lines
Food: All breakfast, all the time
So I’ve tried and failed for the last few LDs.
This time I’m going to win if my newly gained regular sleep pattern doesn’t turn around and stab me in the back.
Depending on whether or not I do 2D or 3D I’ll be using Flashpunk and Flashdevelop and the like or Unity.
I might end up jamming rather than compoing but we’ll see. Looking forward to finding out what I’ll be making in the next 30 minutes or so 😀
If I end up doing something, this’ll probably be my setup.
Not sure if I’ll compo or jam.
So. Well….
I’m not sure how this weekend will work out. I may end up with not a lot of time to work on the LD, but I hope I do have the time. The current idea of what I plan on working with:
Python for the language
Pyglet for the windowing and media
Some version of SFXr for sound
Photoshop or paint.net for art
The last few LDs I’ve slacked off on being a good participant, maybe this time I’ll be a bit better and go for a winner 😀
I’m really excited to start my first Ludum Dare! Here’s what I’ll likely be using:
– flixel AS3 framework
– FlashDevelop
– Paint Shop Pro X3
– as3sfxr
– Audacity
– Musagi (if I can figure out how to use it in time :D)
– My level editor, called Fury Editor, which is basically useless for anyone except me since fiddling with the source code and recompiling is necessary to adapt it to different projects. But since it seems to be required to share, here it is: http://vascof.com/Stuff/Fury Editor v0.1.zip
For changes in the level editor I’ll use CodeBlocks and compile with MinGW (gcc). The editor uses Allegro and OpenLayer.
Only 20 minutes left… Good luck everybody
Starting with a pretty decent Java base engine this time that I’ve been building on since last LD.
My setup might be something like…
Language: GML
Graphics: 8 bit style(sorta) 😀
and that’s all I can think of, now, This is a race against time for me (before the contest, not at the contest. ) I had to redownload game maker, I had to get 7zip. I’m still working on it.
Good Luck everyone!
Hello everyone,
If you have read my last post, I’m going to be missing half of Ludum Dare because of a holiday and was going to complete the other half when I get back. I was wondering how much time most people here use on actually developing the game (not including time for eating, sleeping, etc.) just so I know I wont cheat by spreading 48 equal hours across the next few weeks.
Thanks for your answers!

Hi LDers!
I’ve been meaning to participate for years, but somehow I always have something on that weekend. This time around I think I have time, so if in 13 minutes the theme makes game design babies with my brain then I’ll give it a bash. I believe it proper to declare that I might (but probably won’t) use TickyTacky. You’re welcome to use it yourself, but should be aware of the significant memory leaks and usability problems inherent within. Also it uses Lua and Lua is crap for this sort of thing.
Good luck <3
Hey guys, just thought I’d throw my hat into the arena in the last ten minutes! My band’s got a show tomorrow night that I have to prep for, but I’m hoping I can get something done! GL/HF 😀
I plan to use UDK as I have been using unrealscript for the last little while, this may go horribly wrong depending on the theme but we shall see…yes..we shall..

Ok, ready to go
PS: oh by the way, I forgot the link to my dev libs (haxe) :

So, LD #18 and LD #19 have been not so successful for me as I didn’t finish a game in either one of them. I’m hoping to break the curse this time around. Here are my tools of choice:
Tech:
That really depends on the theme. I’m either going to use Unity3D and C#/JavaScript, Elysion (my own FreePascal engine), CraftyJS or perhaps I’ll make a HTML5 game from scratch using Modernizr, jQuery, CSS3, JavaScript and some stuff I put together in the last few months.
What do all of these have in common? At least Mac and Windows support, so most of you should be able to play my game.
Graphics/2D:
GIMP, Paint, Pixelmator and my cheap graphics tablet
Graphics/3D:
Blender and maybe Cinema 4D, if necessary
Audio:
WolframTunes, Audacity, GarageBand, SFXR and perhaps even LaDiDa, if I feel like me singing is a good idea.
Also here is a current picture of my desk:

OMG! Double desk all the way.
Chronolapse is installed and I’m ready. My plan for this time: Go to sleep after the theme is announced (it’s almost 4 AM here), dream about the game I’m going to make, then build it and don’t let it get too stressful.

This will be my first time. Planning on javascript/webgl, probably some libraries (three.js?).Hopefully I can put jsQuad to use somehow. Blender/gimp for art. I’m guessing I’ll be lucky to even get something done, so sound is a maybe at best. Still, a good excuse to take time off work, stock up on energy drinks, and stay up for the next couple days.
