Third times the charm right?!
Our audio team member is unable to join us this time around and so we're looking for someone to fill his shoes!
We're an Aussie coder and artist team. We've got all three days free and are hoping to find someone who can commit to a team and help establish the atmosphere with music and sound!
If you're an audio artist and are looking for a team, we'd love to hear from you!
Please join us. If you want to then here is discord: https://discord.gg/65a5U9 Join and message me or type in the chat
Once again @meldrian and I are teaming up for the jam in attempt to create a simple but interessting experience. Just like last time he will create art assets and I will use code to bring those to life. At saturday I'm going to be busy IRL but he will already start content production.

Lots of fun everyone and have a great weekend. :tada:
I'm really excited to join my first game jam :). Any sugestions would be helpful.
just a strawpoll to see which theme will win

This is not a complaint, I honestly don't understand what it means, and as someone who always interprets themes as stories (not gameplays), I wanna know what you think about this:
Each playthrough builds on the last
Second attempt at Ludum Dare, i'm a more confident dev now so I hope I get something I can be proud and submit :)
I've been participating in the Winter LD for many years, sad to see it go but looking forward to giving it a great sendoff! And looking forward to playing many games over the holiday period.
Tools of choice: Unity Paint.net / piskel
Also looking to put my hardware synths into action: Roland System-8 & JD-XI Teenage Engineering OP-1
I'm in
We'll see what happens.
Once again we (@Therrato and @rihards-twisted) will participate in the Ludum Dare.
To start of it might be good to start of where we met: we in college. We didn’t really start working on projects together until we got to the second year of our degree. Since the first project we did together we started working together more frequently. It really started when we participated in the global game jam at the HKU in Hilversum. Here we created BugBox, a 5 player multiplayer game that about 4 bugs trapped in a box of an annoying kid (player 5). Here we found that we shared the same mindset when it comes to the development of games. (if we don’t we can discuss the said topic and accept each other’s criticism). After the game jam, Rihards continued the development of the characters of BugBox. This then became the bases of which we decided to start our own company.
When we started our company we quickly figured out that creating the full version of BugBox would be too expensive and we decided to make a different game first that we could complete in a reasonable timeframe “cough”. This game is now known as Sabotage High and is currently still heavily in development. But we are making a great deal of progress.
Not sure…, but probably we will go for a mobile game this time with some online features (for which the hosting will be taken care of by thewiseminds). Furthermore, we hope to run some tests to obtain some statistics as research for a potential future title and for your knowledge. And this time we will live stream the development on Twitch
I hope we get to make (and later play) exciting and unique games. I'm participating with a team. I'll be using Godot engine for the game. But actually have no idea how the music people do music and how art people do art. Hopefully I get to learn by watching them during the jam.
This will be my first Ludum Dare that I'm joining! Hopefully il be able to create something interesting, but at the very least I hope il be at least submitting something, meant to join in the past but never came around to it, lets change that this time around! Looking forwards to seeing all the interesting games you all will make!

I don't know how much time I'm gonna have this weekend but I'll be participating! Been head down in a big project for months and want a distraction. Here's how I feel about the categories
Automation - might spawn a lot of conveyor line style clones but there is real opportunity to expand this theme Break the cycle - I actually like this theme, already spawning ideas in my head. Control the environment - loco rock jam 2018. Feels too similar to previous themes and doesn't seem like much interpretation is encouraged. Each playthough builds on the last - good theme with a good ability to interpret. Everything grows - pretty sure this has been a theme in the past. Has potential but I prefer others. It only changes when you aren't looking - an idea I initially didn't like but given some afterthought it could be interesting to see how this is expanded upon Sacrafices must be made - I can see how people think there are three similar themes. This is my favourite of the bunch as a literal interpretation of the words, rather than the design. Absorb your enemies - Kirby jam 2018. Could spawn a clever platformer in the vain of mario odyssey. Darkness is your friend - harder to interpret this as anything other than stealth Don't trust the game - unfair design aside you could expand this way past just unfair platforming Magic but there's a cost - take one leave one 2: restrictions One item, many uses - great idea to make a single mechanic work across a broader design Take one leave one - take one leave one : the OG. Much greater scope to interpret this. Far superior to the sequel. Two connected worlds - vague enough to be interpreted, precise enough to be constrained. Would be interested to see what this theme would produce. Even if I have no ideas for it at the moment. Evolve - everything grows 2 : reused theme boogaloo. A great theme but we have had similar before
There it is. Have fun everyone! Stay hydrated and rested and I look forward to seeing what you all have at the end.
This is our 5th Ludum Dare! NotSpaghettiGames is a group of high school students based out of New England.
We have our full team for this Jam, and few people helping with Music, hopefully we can make something really awesome!
We will be using:
Game Engine: Unity
Language: C#
Art: Blender and Gimp
Sound: Audacity
