Well, its a start!

Hi, this my first compo. No time, no quiet place to work. As always. But I have little idea...

My volcano sculpt is coming along nicely. Sacrifices must be made. The volcano god must be appeased. You wouldn't like him when he's angry...
My game involves you, a well-meaning villager who lives at the base of the volcano, who must carry a sacrifice to throw into the volcano. Unfortunately, the path to the mouth of the volcano is dangerous and filled with all sorts of obstacles you must avoid. Can you make it to the top and save your village?
Now that I'm in college, I don't have a whole lot of time to make a game. So I'm thinking of maybe participating, especially given that this is the last ever December Ludum Dare. And, to accommodate the occasion as well as my situation, as well as the theme, I'm thinking of doing a sort of wintry survival game, with four player characters, and the goal is to get at least one of them through the winter. It's meant to be more of a sad story than a game, really, or at least that's my goal.
And so I have started drawing a character:
And some snow:
I've also tried drawing a log cabin, but it didn't turn out very well and needs to be re-done.

A functional Ability system that works! Now I just have to make the abilities work. I think I should just accept the fact I get overly ambitious every LD. Overloaded with caffeine, I continue, as we all do.
Good luck everyone!!

Decided to actually sleep this time. Main mechanics are mostly done. Keeping it super simple since I don't have much time this weekend! Good luck to everyone else!
THE PATH TO VEGETARIANISM

Here is the first progress post! If you missed my previous post, here is my idea: You are in a fantasy city overtaken by evil doers (and you are one of them) that ships in sacrifices to plant them and then harvest the organs and bake them or sell. Basically, a f*cked up farm simulator :)
Currently i have player movement, simple inventory, simple till ground to farmlands.

So this morning we have a great effective work morning. The world is generated and now we are adding some boundaries for the player. We also re-created our player in UFPS. Now we need to start working on the story and start developing the levels. And Adventure Creator is setup.

First ideas are starting to come. I like the idea of deleting files that make some assets disappear.

He moves on a nice field of grass. What could go wrong.
For the first time in anything ever the theme that I actually wanted to win... won. Awesome!
I just woke up so I haven't done any brainstorming yet but I'm damn excited anyway.
Oh, the theme is Sacrifices must be made? Really?! Funny, because that was the theme that I hated the most.
So I’m thinking of making a space program simulation game, but on paper. Because it all works out on paper... until it explodes! :D But seriously, paper rockets will be lit. Here are some of my initial ideas I came up with tonight:

I’m going to go to bed now, but I hope to start making some art with my coffee around 8 or 9am tomorrow!
I can’t wait to see what you are all coming up with.
I have finally settled on an idea and think I have (for the first time) settled on a finite set of features for the games win and lose coniditions from the beginning: Its a creeper world-esque game called 'The Spread' where you need to save the human race by sacrifice bits of your population to slow it down:

I must say, coming here after a few hours of work is both motivating and frustrating. That's what I got so far :

Well, we understand what it is, right?
Concept: you're an overlord who cannot attack. Your minions must be sacrificed to protect you in an endless arena combat!
Progress: Basic movement for overlord + camera, minions, and a melee enemy type. Things die when they touch each other. Not much to see yet. Lots to do still
TODO: Everything else
I'll be resuming the development stream tomorrow at 10 AM PST

Basic minion game mechanics in place, going to add some obstacles / enemies now.

Yeah I made like no progress so far

Have a concept with card game in mind. Hype train! Whooo Hoooooo!
