Quest for the West

pretty happy with my progress!Questemfor/emtheemWest/emsss1.gif

First Night Progress

After a quite long design session amongst the five of us (2.5 hours, but it was worth it) we finally have a solid plan and are already past the prototyping of our main game mechanics. If we keep up the track we're on now we'll have the bulk of the game done by tomorrow's end, and that just leaves sunday for the "last 10% is 90%" slough. Hope everyone else is doing well too!

Prototype - Sacrifice some sheep to avoid the big bad wolf

Ok, here is a first thought. You chase the sheep around with bolts of lightning (for now a click that they run from) to keep them away from the big bad wolf. Outlast him with minimal losses to win!

Done for Tonight...

Pooped!
Capture.PNG I got my "sick" spheres spreading germs and getting others sick! ... Click to cure them but, not for long! Got a little point system going too... Tomorrow I'll be setting up more gameplay mechanics, adjusting difficulty and hopefully some artwork? :)

Night 0 Progress

I feel like I've gotten off to a good start. The theme is one of the options I was voting for, and I've figured out an interesting way to implement it. At this point, I've implemented most of the core mechanic of the game, and I'm at a point where I feel good about the state of the project. Time to get some sleep and get ready to implement the rest of the core mechanic and start adding things to it, such as level design, enemies/AI, etc.

Veterans of Ludum Dare...do you think I should explain more of the game and its mechanics? My thinking was to not say much about what I'm working on (to allow players more chance to discover the game), but I'm not sure if this is in the best interests of cooperative spirit. What would you advise?

Have a good night, all! I'll be back at 'em tomorrow! (Well, later today, my time. :P )

Cutting Corners

Greetings everybody!

The Samurai Ducks are joining the Ludum Dare jam once again and we are more excited than ever. This time around we plan on delivering Cutting Corners - the unfinished samurai game. We will post regular updates here with our progress and we would be really happy to hear your feedback on each of those.

We wish you all good luck and happy jamming! :)

Yours truly, Samurai Ducks

Entering brainstorm mode

I recently woke up to my alarm clock and thought that I need just a couple more minutes (definitely not hours) of sleep. Than I decided to quickly check the theme and go back for these couple more minutes (definitely not hours) of sleep. I saw the theme.. Wow. Wow, one of the few I really liked! That's so great! That's ... But, oh... What... What am I ACTUALLY going to do? And now I have an empty head

Gently starting

So, in France the LD Start at 3am, waaay too soon x( So I decided to sacrifice the first 5 hours to start well rested. So people who think they are late, here I am ! :D

Go for the compo then ;)

Good luck to everyone ! :D

Firing Employees

Firing employees because the sacrifices must be made.

Good morning!

Time to wake up in Europe and begin Ludum Dare. This is one the most inspiring themes from recent LDs, I really dig it.

I've got three ideas: - Mega Man like boss rush game where you have to sacrifice an ability before a boss. - Reverse clicker about crunching! More your work, the less you produce. - Time management game about work/social/well-being balance.

Most likely will go with Crunch Clicker! And try not to crunch too much myself. :)

Jumping To It!

I'm glad we got our idea done... and some basic graphics, but now I must sleep ..zzZZ

Here's a hopping stick-wizard: 2018-12-01 02-44-17.gif

What stick people will the morning bring?

Made progress with castle

I made some progress with my castle and next I need to get some trees in the scene. At least I can also now select tiles that are not currently occupied. screenshot-002.jpg

Progress So Far:

Yeet progress ld43.PNG

Spent too much time on artwork? Probably.

MIGHT CONTAIN FLYING CATS.

Hello! I am a game artist/ graphic designer from Estonia and have taken part of many game jams but I have had a team of programmers with me always. Today I will be taking part of the COMPO, and will make the game alone for the first time (I CAN PUT AS MANY CATS IN MY GAME AS I WANT WHOOP). My warplan - make a dead-simple game today(can't code) and try to make it a lot fancier tomorrow with graphics(this is where I shine) and sounds (using my voice). My game will be a simple platform jumper with a cute flying cat and birds.

I can't really code so I am using Construct 3 (...well try to learn using it) Adobe programs for graphics + sounds Maybe piskel (if I will do pixel art)

Really good theme too this time! I am exited to see what others come up with!

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY! LET'S DO THIS!
