LD 43 November 30–December 3, 2018

My progress

I have only a moving nipple. Lovely!

Starting right now

@daruudaruu and I just woke up one hour ago (we are from Europe) and we entered the brainstorm mode regarding this new theme! Now we have some kind of idea of the game we want to make...

Here we go!

Killing some clones

I'm still doubting myself about this game idea, but here is a quick demonstration of creating and killing clones with some beautiful placeholder art.

Hidden Danger

I'm going for a feeling of exploring in the dark, in danger, where you might get jumped suddenly.

I want to expand the player side to a party of humans, and, well, you probably won't all be making it out alive... at least that's the idea! Sad decisions of who in your party to sacrifice, and when/how, maybe could lead to a strategy/horror game, I hope.

Obviously a long way to go, but seems okay for the first evening. I have the movement, the darkness revealing as you go, and the monster that lurks and then springs into action when you reveal it.

Hey I'm in

This will be my 11th LD and it has been two years since I've participated.

We're a bunch of friends doing the compo but sharing the same place, food and mood for the weekend, as we always do. As it happens to be Anna's birthday we have decided to add the constraint of remaking one of his game!

Have fun and good luck :)

Late but I am here

So after a rough night I am ready to get cracking. I think its a difficult theme but lets try to brainstorm some ideas.

I'm in and think i've an idea

Greetings from Belgium where i decided to get a good night sleep before reading the Theme and working on an idea.

My first idea, which i'm going to stick to it and keep it simple, is to make a loot driven game where you'll have to make time and money sacrifices to get through it.

the working title : I've made a LOOT of sacrifices.

I'll try to keep you posted if anyone ever happened to be interested.

Clicker game is a Go.

I am so rusty with Unity that I actually took forever trying to remember how to make buttons work. Fortunately I stopped being an idiot and got it together so now I have a clicker game where you can actually click. Also my game is a clicker game about ritual sacrifice so yea. Hopefully I can pick up the pace and not have to relearn all of my seemingly dorment Unity knowledge. Its late now my time so I think this is a good point to call it for the night. In the morning I will start work of making more things to click and hopefully ways to upgrade your clicking potential. I think the last thing I am gonna work on are graphics after all the main point of a clicker is to well... click so if its not engaging to just click squares I dought my lack luster art skills will make it any better.

Here's a video of my "gameplay" so far:

Second JAM and I woke up 7 hours later!

So I just woke. Decided I was going to get some rest before I start working. Currently brainstorming on possible ideas.

Finished Sculpting!

This is the most ugly and epic sculpt i ever made Ludum dare 43 screenshot 3.PNG

So here's a thing

Looks good. Even though there's nothing but this screen for now.

We got idea!

Since we live in Sweden we just started working on our idea. Brainstormed for about an hour and now I think we got a pretty solid feel of what we want to do. Good luck to all you out there!

(as you can see from the image it is a "one room platformer" )

FINALLY AN IDEA

After almost around 13 hours of game dev block I finally got an idea in my head.

My idea is that you are a king of an empire in the sky. In order to become the worlds biggest empire, you need buy and sell and invade other islands to expand your empire

So the jam started... what do I do now?

Greetings everyone, this is my first jam and I see that a lot of people are posting this type of development update. I like reading them, so I decided to write one myself.

I live in Europe, so for me the jam started in the middle of the night. When I woke up, I saw the theme, and was like "Okayyy, what do I do now?". The theme seemed really hard to me at first, as I didn't have any good ideas. I thought about many ideas for a few hours(quite a bit more than I would've liked), but now I think I have a solid idea.

I don't know if I should share it, as I see some do, some don't. Whatever I will, because I trust that noone's going to steal it(even if they did I wouldn't really care) and it's absolutely nothing special so here we go. The idea is a rougelike platformer(a bit like Spelunky) where you have a small amount of time to get a bunch of people into a volcano(basically the end of the level). You start off controlling the first person and if they die on the way they drop their loot and you start with the next person. You can return to the starting point with loot to buy stuff that will help you get to the end level quicker, but the more loot you go to the end with, the higher you score is.

Idea. Let's get started

I thought of a small, fun game in the Maya empire. You have to sacrifice people to keep the gods in mood, but you also have to keep the small nunmber of inhabitants in mind. You have to find the perfect balance between sacrificing and happy society :D

Let's go!

It's 7 o'clock here in Brazil and I'm in! This theme is VERY hard, but I'm already starting to thing.

But I already created the folder... so I'll have to finish!

Good luck, guys!
