Making progress

Still on the mock screen. Here's the main altar, updating the color scheme. Progress.gif

It's my first time going solo in a Ludum Dare, so I don't know how well it'll turn out! I'll probably try to finish all the art by today then spend the next day on the programming.

Father and son - our setup

Heya, everyone. It took us a while (3 hours now) to figure out where we'd be going and what engine to use. Love2D, Unity, RPG Maker and PICO-8 have been the candidates for our initial ideas and we are going for PICO-8 because of the quick and easy creatability of an HTML5 runtime (and quick game creation as well). While we had a neat multiplayer idea, we dumped it, as it would be less accessible for most players in the end, requiring a second player. We are now going for a single player, graphically controlled text-adventure with a map and four characters with a unique power each. Will keep you updated.

Let's goooo

I had to sacrifice a few hours to sleep off a pounding migraine, but now I'm ready to go with a pretty neat concept. Good luck everybody!

The First Night

I'm calling it quits for tonight. Got a good bit of work done, most of the finished art isn't even in this picture. Love how it's looking, there's a couple of bugs to iron out (ah well, there's always the last hour before submission), but I think I nailed the theme on this one. Platforming is meh, but if I can make up for it with decent puzzles, I'll be happy. The Temple of the Blood God is coming along nicely. 9 progress.JPG

I'm in !

Hi everyone !

Joining from France :) I have already made several ld games with my friends, so I hope that it's going to be fun this time too. Here are some tools my friends and I will be using :

  • Visual Studio Code
  • Phaser 3
  • Google Chrome
  • Aseprite
  • Milkytracker

I will try to stream as much as possible on twitch (FR) ! Have fun ;-)

We have Pizzas!

We have ideas of gameplay, graphisms, music and developpers looks ready to make a good game. We have cold PIZZAS, cakes and coffee. It's our 3rd Ludum dare. So we are happy :)

Time to Start

Woke up fresh at 5:00 after a great night of sleep and i am ready to start brainstorming,:L

Slowinsh

It is going a bit slow because our game is story driven so it takes a bit long to come up with the FULL DESIGN DOC but we are getting there. I started to play with a dynamic weather system. It looks kinda good. Just some small tweaks to be done. Progres3.png

Brainstorming

Share some games you will use to draw inspirations from. Some games that comes to mind is: Time Fcuk, The Swapper, Lemmings, One Chance, Dead in Bermuda.

Some of my ideas so far are

• Survival village. There's not enough resources for everyone so some has to be exiled, but everyone has a valuable skill to contribute with that will be lost.

• Vampire survival. Can you survive long enough to discover a cure without feasting on your loved ones?

• Trolley dilemma. Will you intervene? You have the chance to save 5 people by sacrificing 1. Now you'll have to live with the consequences.

• Mutagen. Platformer where the obstacles arn't deadly, but increase your exposure to a deadly virus. Make to many mistakes and you have a higher chance to expose the world to it. Will you sacrifice yourself then and start all over, or do you want to get to the end no matter the cost?

• Family survival. You gather resources for your family, but along the way you meet groups of starving people. Will you help them with time or resources depriving your family? Some choices might bring benefits in the future.

• Short term vs Long term benefits. Game where you choose between quick logarithmic growth, vs slow exponential growth (income, skills).

The Dream of a Boy

This is my first Jam/Compo and I have mixed feelings about it. Well, let´s see how much I will be able to make in these two/three days!

Inspiration

I took my inspiration from A Dark Room project. I'd like to create something this minimalistic , but valuable. This why I choose native php and other webdev tools

Finaly an idea

A strange idea that makes little to no sence came to mind at last. finaly ready to start work
