Now that I've took my breakfast I need to think about what will I do based on the theme.
So psyched for my first ever game jam!
Just had an incredible brainstorming session with my partner @Colestia, who I have never met and only barely chatted with until now and who lives on the other side of the planet.
Everything is awesome!
Time to start sketching some concept art.
We have our idea and are heading for dev full steam ahead. We are making a resource collect and upgrade game where every in-game day you have to give a percentage of resources to the llama gods which increases every day. This is a collab with @jkinkinson and @thegoddessbastete . Any feedback would be appreciated. Stormy
Hello! Yesterday I started with the creative process of the game with my pal @gorondorf and we spent 2 hours tring to define the design of the game.
We, as developers , love to transmit a message in all our creations, thats why every nosense or standard idea was discarded.
It was 4.30AM when We got an Idea with the "SACRIFICES MUST BE MADE" theme, It matched what we were looking for, a simple idea, simple mechanics but the chance to further add stuff along this weekend.
It was 5.20 AM when We wrote all the idea down and we decided to go to bed, because we started having problems pronouncing simple sentences (It was kinda funny).
30 Min ago, I woke up and I'm rwiting this while I am drinking my coffee. I have my project, my goal and I think I'll be able to finish this time. Let's see how everything ends.
BTW, I'll post some "non spoilery" things about the game once I can show something but for the moment I can show you the title:
The forest station
See you in a few hours!
-Kukiol
... or what passes for it anyway ;-)

Woke up, read the theme and spent a good few minutes over coffee thinking about the theme. It's going to involve a monk in a Roman empire. As usual, I'll get carried away with the visuals and not spend enough time on the game itself. Oh Blender, why are you such a tease?!?!

Programmer doing first Ludum dare, although Ive been keeping up with the jam since 2010ish.
Doing the jam with my girlfriend @karolina-lewszyk who is an artist. No idea what to do for this theme, only just woke up as had a long week at work (we work in a studio making e-learning XR content as our day job). Combined me and her are GameDev Couple LTD https://twitter.com/gamedevcouple?lang=en
Interested to see what everyone does for this one seeing as its the theme I wanted the least!
I've been working on some pixel art, figuring out what I'm going to do as I go. Hopefully I can begin coding now!
My last solo LD was 38(yikes). So it's time to undust my coding skills and dive into the madness. I will be making a tower defense like game about jelly/slime/creature/whatever thing that is able to mutate, multiply and grow. But of course the main goal is the sacrifice for the greater good also known as hi-score.
Here's a rough concept.

I will be using Unity and some other stuff.
Good luck everyone and don't forget to have fun! :v:
Originally, I wanted to make a turn-based game for a change, but it seems this thing is dragging me towards action-strategy.

Im making a Ludum Dare Simulator!
Just finishing up some polish for the UI.
Pretty sure some other people have made something like this before, so I might change www.LudumDare.com to something else.
Hello from Switzerland. This is my first LD and right now everything seems to be OK with my game and my schedule, which is surprising :joy: Good luck to everybody
I end up making pico-8 games on LD for some reason. Last time I started my code too messy and didn't have the willpower to finish it. Now I'm trying to make it a bit better.
I'm going to make a shoot'em up game where the carrier ship sacrifices fighters to bring down the abominable cucumber cthulhu monsters!

Game about a bunch of bouncy spring-creatures that slowly run away from enemies. Too slowly. But maybe if you sacrifice a few, the others can make it.

No game engine. Just HTML5 canvas and some libraries like matrix-2d.
Top-down shooter, with stuff collection, and mob possession.
Old body must be sacrificed to walk next.
I have nothing I can show off yet, but I do know what my game will be. It's tentatively named "The Gods Are Angry", and it's a short, story-driven PICO-8 platformer. A dormant volcano has become active, signalling the gods' displeasure, and your mission is to venture to it and throw yourself into it to appease them and prevent an eruption.
I was hoping I'd get to make a more story-driven game for LD43, and this theme is absolutely perfect for that, so nice job with the theme selection, y'all! I should have something I can show off within the next few hours, so stay tuned.
