Collective streaming? Discord? Something?

So, do you guys plan on doing something together? are you gathering around virtually somewhere? Do you want to do a Discord or something? Sorry if this things already exist.

I'm planning to do a small site, and it would really energize it to be in contact with people around the world.

Let me know what you think!

I'm in (I think...)

I will use Construct 2 and Aseprite ( I have a new Tumblr Blog, is where I will post some pixel arts) https://www.tumblr.com/blog/andreazevedo Idk do music and English is not my first language but let's go! Can I work just remotely?

By the Nine Divines! I'm in! I'm in!

Yeah! Going have fun making a game or at least attempting to!

Tools: - GameMaker Studio 2 - Pyxel Edit - BFXR - Bosca Ceoil

Who knows, maybe I'll actually complete something this time around... But hey, this is a welcome break from the daily grind!!

Good luck and have fun, yoh!

This will be my 2nd Ludum Dare.. :)

I'd like to think I've vastly improved in the past 4 months, and I may have a small team for the jam this time around.

Last time I made some big mistakes, but I still had a good time and learned from it. One of them, was using an unfamiliar game engine(Game Maker Studio 2).

At the moment, I'm learning Unity and progressing very well with it, but I'm still not ready to use it in a jam yet, so I'm going to go with Construct 2. I think it is a great engine for prototyping, and in all honesty, if I made a game that was worth going any further with, I could easily use my assets and make the full game in Unity if I wanted to.

Good luck to everyone!! Can't wait to see what people bring to the table!! :)

I'm in this time. This will be my first Ludum dare / Game Jam. Language: Java / JavaFX Art: Pixel Edit Sound: FLstudio

Can you help me?

So, I am thinking of buying a new laptop to make games on. I am searching for some good but cheap charesteristics for making and testing 3d and 2d games. What are your suggestions?? Like the RAM, the graphics card, are integrated cards good? Good processors etc.....

All recommondations are welcome, thank you in advance

Busy Games first game jam

Looking forward to our first game jam. Hopefully all goes well and excited to see what the theme will be. - Will be making it in Unity but unsure if it will be 2D or 3D.

Going to be a busy weekend for Busy Games!

(Repost) Looking for Jammer who can play splitscreen/shared screen games.

Hi guys,

Last time I made a game for 2 players, and it didn't go very well because most people play LD games alone (let's conveniently forget the fact that my last game sux ^^' ).

I still intend to make shared screen game this time, so as insurance I'm asking ahead for people who can play this type of game. Due to this being a pre-jam shoutout, I can only tell that I'll making a split screen or shared screen game for 2 players or more.

===

If you have friend/family who can play together offline, please tell me in the comment, and after the Jam I'll ping you (by prioritize playing your games first) so you'll remember me and play mine ☺️

This is the last re-post of my shout out. I'm sorry for spamming :)

Preparation... mostly non-existent again

I tried to prepare for the LD weekend and get some boilerplate base-code ready... but as usual, life got in the way and I didn't really get anywhere. Like previous times I'll just cannibalize parts of my previous games if needed, and likely spend much longer than I should updating generic components of my RocketBoots game kit while I should be writing game-specific code.

I do have a few links ready for reference at least: * https://github.com/rocket-boots/rocket-boots/tree/master/scripts/rocketboots - since I don't have docs for this, I often have to dig through the code to find the method I want * http://pixijs.download/release/docs/ and https://github.com/kittykatattack/learningPixi - I don't know pixi js off the top of my head, so these will be useful -- assuming I go with a canvas approach to graphics. * https://lospec.com/palette-list - Useful for all game developers to find a nice color palette * https://ldjam.com of course * https://twitter.com/ludumdare because of course the site will crash when the theme is announced (unless everyone forgets the new time)

I'm in (just like everyone else)

This will not only be my first Ludum Dare game jam, but my first game jam in general. I have a couple finished projects and several unfinished projects, so I'm looking forward to the experience. - Engine: miniSphere - Source editing: Visual Studio Code - Graphics editing: GIMP and (depending on the theme requirement and my ideas) maybe Blender - Sound effects: Audacity and (maybe) sfxr - Music: LMMS or SunVox

Here is my GitHub account, where I will post the code and packaged binaries. I don't have a name for the game yet, so I'll create the repo and make a new posting when I create it.

Joining for my first ever game jam!

Just took the plunge and signed up! I've been wanting to try participating in a Ludum Dare for a while now, but always decided against it due to concerns that I just wouldn't be able to find enough time to actually finish something. That may still be an issue, but I've decided to give it a shot and see how it goes. Really excited to see if I can rise to the challenge of completing and submitting a playable game over the course of a weekend!

Planned tools:

  • ReactJS
  • Inkscape / GIMP / Blender

Joining LudumDare 42!

Last time I didn't make it, but now is the time to shine and make some magic!

Working with Unity & Gimp

I'm in (maybe).

Finally I got time for LD. My previous games were terrible bad and imcomplete, hoping a interesting theme can guide my making. I will use PIXI.js (Well... I merely practice it in last few days and I only have little experice about controling pure dom to make a visualization or "game" before.)

I am in jam in 48 hours

First time join ld.

Next Monday I need to work so I would like to solo in 48 hours use Unity.

It is a great and hope I would finish the game and enjoy it~
