First time joining Ludum Dare! Number 42 seems to be a great number to start with. I will be doing this solo not sure if I go for the 48hr or the 72hr. All depending if other weekend plans will interrupt the flow.
Im so hyped!
This will be my second attempt at Ludum Dare. Last time I spend too much time switching between different programming languages and engines, to actually finish anything. So, this time I'll try to stick to the following:
Well, the last time I entered this compo (LD40), it was a complete trashfire. Problems managing objects well, combined with hardware failure at the very end sealed the deal. But I feel like this time is going to be different. I've been learning a lot lately about the finer details of LuaJIT, and I want to try to utilize fully its FFI/JIT compiling to the maximum. As per the rules, I am declaring some base code to help set me up so I don't end up having problems like last time. The following modules include: - An object creation/management system, similar to an ECS - A library to simplify checking for user input - Some trivial debugging and utility functions - Some trivial FFI-related functions
The comments are sparse, and there is little to no documentation, but you can find the scripts here. Here are my full stats: - Language: LuaJIT 11.0 - Framework: Love2D - GFX: GIMP - Sound: BFXR and possibly OpenMPT for music, if I get that far - IDE: ZBStudio
Best of luck to everyone!
This time i'm going for the jam with a friend who's gonna help me with the art.
Language: JS Software: sublime text, paint.net, chrome
Now I will make a game in 48 hour :D
Program I will use -Unity -Krita
And something free audio editor :D
Honestly I was planning on figuring out the Unity engine, and then things happened and now it is literally the day before the jam and I still don't know how to use it. My dudes, I'm going on a solo run and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. No plan here. But hey, everything is fine. I just gotta learn everything tomorrow REAL fast. Fun times!
...On a side note, do I have to officially sign up, because I kinda assumed making an account was enough, and I would be really bummed if I went through 48 hrs of bashing my head against my laptop and it turned out that whoops, I didn't register so whoops, I can't actually submit.
Edit: thank you, my man, that's a relief.

me, @preda, @echotangoecho are in a discord server and if you want to help the server is https://discord.gg/x7BMa9
I'll try harder this time. New account, same old tools: - Engine: Godot engine - Graphics: Pyxel Edit - Sounds: Bosca Ceoil
It`s my first entry, but what number would be better to start? ;-)
Im interested in game programming and game design from 15 years, but never finished any of my prototypes. Time to change it ;-)
Tools: Depending on game topic:
Gfx: GraphicsGale, Vectr
Good luck to everyone!
After a long absence I finally have time join again! (I also wanted to join the last august LD, but it got postponed to september, so that was some bad luck for me 😄)
My last game I submitted was for LD33. I also participated in LD34 and LD35, but hadn't a good idea for a game. Let's see how it works this time, especially with the new special time. Hopefully I don't have a restless night thinking about an idea 😄
Good luck everyone! 🙂
I'll still use Unity and Blender but I'll change the genre and style of my games drastically.
Since I joined April last year I felt that most themes are restrictions rather than a theme itself
I hope it will be a good theme this time
I like to use my free time creating games prototypes, but I never ended a project. Hopefully LD will give me the right motivation to do so. Even though I will work alone, I think I'll submit to the Jam (being my first time). I'm also excited to try some games. Good luck everybody!
I can't event sleep from the hype my heart is experiencing right now. Tomorrow (at least for us Europeans) is going to be an epic moment in human history!
This time I'll be working with my mate Alan (@tvoritelalan).
We'll be using: - Adventure Game Studio (AGS) - Photoshop / Aseprite - Haven't decided which music SW yet. - Junkfood and lots of energy drinks
HAVE A GREAT TIME EVERYONE!
Hello! Me and my partner have decided to join the LD for the first time. We are just your average beginners from Lithuania. Been looking at this event for a while now, but always missed it or had work. It's very exciting for us and also we both like most of the themes. I guess it's because we didn't see them for 5 times in a row, unlike most of the people here. We are split in me being the programmer and her being the artist/3d modeler. Hopefully we wont fall flat on our faces.
We will be using : - Unity - Blender - Krita - Trello - Tons of tea
Hope to test out a lot of other people games as well ^^

Geta Game Jam #4 occurs between September 15 and September 18. 😀
Create a game in three days based on the theme of Chain Reaction. Teams are allowed! 👍⛓️

I'm terrible with Blender, so I thought I'd get in the groove with a little vertex modifying. Thanks NASA for the Blue Marble. Unity particles are way nicer than Blender particles, but I got the job done. Sort of.
Also some advice, (mostly for myself). Don't panic! And always know where your towel is.
This is my second Ludum Dare, and this time I will be working on clear story, clear connection to the theme, and actually having some sound/music in there. A working game would be nice, too.
Hey :) I recently started programming for android in unity and wanted to know how many people would playtest a game if it were made for this platform. I am still not sure which way to lean... maybe I will make it multi platform because in unity it is very easy to do so. Leave feedback in comments please :)
Will be using:
