Some actual progress...

¿What are we doing?

We're heading towards an endless power-fantasy hack-and-slash where the player fights hordes of enemies where your health is linked to the strength of your abilities. While the programmers do programmers' stuff, the art team is working on defining the visual style.

Multiplayer Viking Arena!

Making an online viking-themed deathmatch for the Jam together with spiderspy. This is it for today.

Next up: gore and multiplayer.

Will use unity's networking, let's see if we pull it off :D

Day 1: First Ludum Dare, new experience

I started this Ludum Dare just for fun and needless to say it has been a rollercoaster ride thus far. I woke up and checked my phone for Ludum Dare theme and as soon as I read it, my phone ran "out of power". So, that was going to be my game. Prevent discharging/overcharging phone. This is my current progress. Tomorrow, I will work on adding levels and making this game enjoyable https://vgy.me/xsMp3G.gif

Done on the first day

We just finished our game for this LD! :)

It is called "RGBall" and its a simple arcade game.

Day 1 Progress

erebus01.png Progress is looking pretty good on my Compo game so far! The main mechanics are feeling pretty solid, and art is coming along nicely. There is still a lot of content to generate, but I'm feeling pretty good so far. I'm streaming all of my dev over at my twitch channel here https://www.twitch.tv/aevek/

bot.png I put way more time into this character model than I should have, considering how small it actually is on screen in game, but I'm proud of how it came out and even though the details aren't fully visible in game they still make the model look pretty cool. This is the solar powered robot that is the main character of my game.

dead_bot.png This is what the protagonist looks like when he has run out of power.

Some progress...

Currently working on a spaceship game, the idea is you have to manage various ship systems ie thrusters shields etc while trying not to run out of power.

I have my ship flying about and you can turn off individual thrusters, now I need to make it into an actual game :)TheDarksSoulsOfSpaceFlight.png

1st day of the jam done !

Day 1 Status (19+ hrs)

caremrotation/embillboard.gif

Making some solid progress getting the core mechanics of a primitive 3D racing game wired up. Player movement has becoming much smoother since last night, and some animations help provide feedback. Next I'm going to try to wire up the lap/race mechanics followed by some primitive AI.

I'm afraid that performance may become a limiting factor soon. After building a map with just 100 billboards on it, I was already saw some strain on the framerate. I'm going to keep pushing forward regardless, but I could see this forcing me to cut some features early.

Wow...

Now that I see what kind of things people are creating. My game gets put to shame...

I'm about to lose my $#*!

So come to find out my team and I don't have matching versions of Unity, which is why we've been having so many crashes when using Unity's built in collaboration. I have $#*! internet, so this is taking forever to download.sc-2.png

Progress report 1

Zrzut ekranu z 2017-07-29 21-53-47.png

To the point: I'm quite happy with the results so far. I'v got character controller written utilizing FSM Plugin for Godot. I have some entities ready, as well as some simple visual effects that will help build the game mood. The thing is I don't have any art yet. Placeholders everywhere

I'm recording whole process - I'll make a timelapse after the jam.

Oh, It seems that my backup script has finished the job few seconds ago, time to make a supper.

Have fun!

Like a clicker, but not.

Julem29/em2017_22.07.16.gif I like tiny dudes, they always looks fun. But game not about them, I think. The game about wind turbines and blowing.

Ten Little Letters: Working Prototype

Doing a small-scope "guess the letter by clicking around in the dark" game.

Wanna try out the prototype? (Win, MacOS/Linux) – Instructions: Click around, then type a letter.

Progress So far!

A simple concept of managing a generator (Power cells, regulators etc) got most of the systems in place got a shop to add this evening then make everything run more like a game tomorrow! LDSS.png
