Step 1069: Add the POWER

Finally I added the POWER of "Running out of Power". The little Robot can no longer jump as much as he like, the battery power is his cage. Will you free him? :eagle:

This is my progress after the first 20 hours: Gravity, bullets, 1 enemy, 3 items and textures for the ground!
Now I'm only adding more items and enemies, but the game is basically finished and it looks like this:

Level Design and basic Gameplay is getting on nicely, all UI still temp.
It wasn't the initial plan, but the game is both single and multiplayer, on one keyboard or with game controllers.
Aint no power like Dwarf Power!

Tasks for tomorrow include: - mining coal - earning wages - power consumption - day night cycle.
Having a blast, and love seeing the updates from everybody!
Mining brothers.
Silhuettes! Now color and animation

One of the three options takes you to the hospital to find some tonotics to give to your candy corn soldiers!
The background for that scene is now done!

So far it's getting sharper. Gameplay is set, now I mostly have to add items and tweak values to balance the game.
It differs from a classic cookie clicker because there's two levels of upgrades. Cats are expensive and rare but permanent, rusks are cheap and abundant but consumes itself.
Tomorrow I must do all the assets (remove the placeholders), sounds, intro, and why not some tracks. Time is running out so quick! :grimacing:
Progress so far. Game is not yet playable, but about half of game mechanics are done... Now we just have to link it together and made playable.

Godot, Audacity e Photoshop...

... and third prototype is almost done!!!! UHUUUUUU!!!
GO GO GO!!!

I made the movement and the fundamentals of the levelgeneration tomorrow I have to finish levelgeneration and get to audio graphics sfx and a little bit more gameplay addition I dont knof if I get it finished until the compo but I am shure to get it ready for the jam
Here The current state of the Levelgenerator

This scientist is supposed to be making advances in alternative energy, but for some reason he has grown more arms. I genuinely have no idea why this is happening. To be honest I'm considering leaving it in.

(Also, Hi! We are in!)
The gameplay is almost finished, I guess I could change the graphics but I don't think I can do anything better than this but I'll see.

Tomorrow I have to: - Create the posibility to attack and conquer other nations - Make the game a bit harder because right now it's almost impossible to die - (I'll see about graphics)
I hope I'll be able to finish for the compo, as it looks right now I should be able to. :)
Character, guns, bullets! now working on procedurally generated dungeons to create some sort of roguelike?
(warning: low-quality gif; colors not supposed to be flickering...)

GL&HF Everyone!
whoops
On my third can of monster at 22:03Pm, ahaha. How's everyone doing? :P

Done most of the programming, only the easy stuff left. Excuse my programmer art, first time making a 2D game belive it or not. I'm enjoying every second of it!
Hope everyone's also having a great time!
At some point during the gameplay you'll obviously be faced with a literal storm of enemies, who want to stop your slimes from perching atop their crystals.

I didn't mention this before, but the game has mobile support, so that's pretty cool. That "charging crystals" bit is actually just some HTML hanging down from above, and is not on the pixi js stage. This is my first time doing the UI in the DOM instead of the stage, and so far it seems promising.
GODOT ENGINE
May have slightly underestimated the length of time required to create my own tilesets for RPG Maker MV. My idea is sort of an interactive visual novel but done in a top down old-timer RPG way. In my game, tentatively titled Beyond Time, the aim of each time period is to find a source of power in each area to power up the time portal to leave. So for example, I use an electrical circuit and wiring in my 1920s time period and a coal fire in my medieval time period. Not gonna lie, this was an idea based on the One Room theme which I adapted cause you know same room, different time periods. Anyway, I've finished 2 rooms and have 3 or 4 left to go so sorta on schedule. Btw the art is truly atrocious but hey, we're programmers, not artists. Maybe I'll do the Jam next time so that I can get someone else to draw. Tools used: RPG Maker MV, Audacity, GIMP and Rytmik Ultimate on 3DS
Red carpet just screams 1920s to me hahaha (Told you the art was bad lol)
No time to explain now, just watch this nice gif!
