Testing some level generation here...

I'm testing some level generation from tutorials, like this one by Lewis Clark, which is based on Nuclear Throne/Wasteland Kings level generation, and the Heartbeast random level generator.

The game will be a bit simple and cliché, but let's stay on the safe side this time, since I didn't do much gamedev in the last few months. :stuckouttongue:

Getting some progress

Yay :) I have achieved more than i thought i would, but the game still looks like shit :( But i still have all of tomorrow to fix that. The gameplay is basiclly done, and i have a good system to add more content. Hopefully this will work out in the end! Ld 39 Screenshot 1.png

Developmental Woes and Such...

Slowly, but surely the development process is going by fairly alright. Gonna take a dinner break.

Some progress so far

Not much but, I finally managed to finish an isometric map with cursor. Screen Shot 2017-07-29 at 22.05.07.png

So Many Explosions, So Little Time.

So I'm having quite a bit of fun with this jam, mainly because I'm taking it very chilled and just making the genre I love the most, Run-N-Gun :D

My current progress is going pretty smooth, got down the engine pretty much (just need to add little things here and there) and I'll be done. Done in time to start creating some mad bosses and stages.

Hope everyone is having a great jam so far :) -Joel

A little bit of magic can save the world!

Hi!

I'm Borja, this Jam's programmer for Team SophistiCat. We are just two this time, but we are working in an online game for everyone to share their experiences and positivety, all in the name of saving the good magic of the land.

For now, I bring you glowy letters taken from the library of the Great Wizard (A Node JS server):

Awful.. but playable =)

First time gif-ing. Just a shot of a stupid obstacles and dash ability of the player.

overslept

joining the jam a day late, had no clue there was an LD coming up!! i'm gonna take this chance to learn love2d and make a simple shmup. your ships firepower decreases the more you shoot

got some basic movement, enemy and bullet spawning down. will probably work on some graphics that weren't totally lifted from OpenGameArt tomorrow, along with some sfx and music, but for the rest of tonight i'll try to make some interesting bullet patterns

hope i'll be done with this on time! can't cram a whole lot of features in but i still want it to be enjoyable to play.

Scene 3 Completely Complete!

The third scene is complete! With all three options now done, and the first sound effect of the game, I can safely say that it is complete! Just need to work on the sound a little bit more though...

Here are the three options! All of them direct you somewhere else, but it is up to you what you choose! Screenshot_146.png

It's working !

In this video I'm leading a squadron which is destroying the enemy squadron :

Progress so far

Wow, this first day was so productive. I think I have created 60% of my game. Have been working on it for 15 hours straight now. It is sooooo fun. Also, I never thought that I will be able to create such relatively good art in such short amount of time. Anyway, here's a picture of my game: screen.png

I think I've earned some sleep now. Tomorrow is the big day. I feel like I will be able to finish it time. We'll see.

Patient Out Of Time

My progress so far. After the end of the world, this doctor just wants to keep his last patient alive, but the life support systems require constant power. The only source of electricity left is from the hoards of robots that have laid wasteldjam39-1.gif.gif to the world.

Day 1 progress

Here is a little screenshot of what I managed to put together last night. I have the city being randomly generated and a car that you can drive around town. You can open up the map at stop signs which shows where you are as well as the important locations.
