A text-based (maybe) incremental game

I'm in (if life does not get too much in the way) for a text based, maybe incremental game.

Tech wise it'll be Closure(Script) with react (reagent) so it's easy to run (mobile and desktop).

I really hope I can find some meaningful ideas and concepts based more or less on the theme.

I've wanted to make some games like that for some times now so I hope I can ship something.

What I'm sure of is that I'll have a lot of fun!

Hella in

My buddy Asger and I are super in. Been waaay to busy with school lately, so now it's time to chow down on some pizza and make some damn video games!

Wallpaper ☃

I just remembered I was making a wallpaper for every LD in which I participate. I'm short both on time and energy, so I might've gone a teeny tiny bit minimalist with this one. ld47wp.png

Hi everyone, we are in)

We are finally teamed up, so here you can add me, guys:D

First Jam

Hello there!

Participating for the first time after learning Game Development for a few years. Let's see how it goes! Best of luck to everyone!

Come Use Our Code #3: WebGL Shader Compiler

Continuing our series of highly generic game library stuff, here is a class that can compile shaders in WebGl. You can find trillions of examples on the internet, and here is another. It features some degree of error-checking, and it has what I think at least is a nice interface. :)

I'm In & Trying Something New

I join the Compo.

Programming in C. Using SDL for the platform layer and opengl for rendering. Cowboy mode. Will join 4 real this time no games. I love physics and procedural generation. Now writing the physics engine and a bunch of model/mesh helpers hope thats allowd :O.

Just made this terrain thing as a test. 2020-09-29-233301em1280x720/emscrot.png

I'm in and I'm almost entirely human.

anyone know if pre-made bitmap fonts count as pre-made graphics resources? it'll take me 72 hours to draw my font again..

Signup

Do I have to fo a special Signup somewhere or can I just start working when it starts? Sorry, first LD Jam :D

My theme votes Round 3

Not as keen on the themes in round 3 of the voting, however some of them were still good. I'm literally watching the clock on the Ludumdare site countdown to the day, Super HYPPEDDDD!!!! Here were my votes themeVotesRound3.png

Theme voting Rounds 1 - 3 done... On to the finals!

I generally prefer themes that either don't describe mechanics, are somewhat versatile/broad or can at least be interpreted as something other than a mechanic, because I really dislike playtesting many dozens of attempts at the same game, especially after I just spent 48/72h making that same game. So here goes my judgement =]

Here We Go Again + Wallpaper

LDWall47DesertDOF.jpg

Some portion of my team is in again for Ludum Dare 47! We'll probably be using Godot, though we might make use of my own Cobblestone framework if we need something particularly technical.

Other tools: - IntelliJ IDEA (only if using Cobblestone) - Gitlab CI - FL Studio, Bfxr, and Audacity - Paint.net, Photoshop, GIMP, Krita, and every other image editor under the sun - Blender (if 3D) - Tiled

I hope to make and see some great games this weekend!

How does it look?

I've tried my hand at redesigning the look of my original ludum dare 45 entry.

I'm in

Going to try using Godot this time. Going to make something simple so I actually finish this time. Last few times I experimented with a lot of custom c stuff which didn't go so well :).

Engine: Godot

Image Editor: gimp, krita, Aseprite, Pyxel

Sound: Ardour, Audacity

Code Editor: Neovim/Godot

OS: Nixos

I'm in fam!

After 6 consecutive jams I had to miss LD 46 due to some personal stuff, but I'm back for 47 baby! I'm considering doing an online multiplayer game for this jam (modeled after an .io game most likely). What're y'all's thoughts? Too ambitious? Not enough players playing at the same time to warrant an online game? Let me know! Thanks :)

Jam Question

okay so i just have a quick question to confirm what i think is true is. okay so anyone can join the jam which is 72 hours? you dont have to be in a team to join it right?

Are you an Artist? A Designer? The newest member of our team?

Heya I would love to talk to a couple of artists who might like to join my team that I’ve been putting together. We're pretty well organised with Programmers and Musicians, but still need some Artists to join our team.

We don't yet know if it will be 2D or 3D, it depends on the Theme and what ideas the team pitch on the day, but if you're up for the challenge and plan to have some run, check out my details on the provided link.

Hope to hear from you soon! And good luck to everyone else doing LD this weekend woohoo!
