Looking For A Team To Join (Or To Start One)

Don't Have The Time I Used To So Im Looking For A Team. i'm Best With GameMaker But I Do Have Experiance In Other Languages, (Mostly Java And Python) And Engines. I Can Do Some Basic Pixel Art Also. Just Comment If Your Interested. And Happy Day To Yah!

Let's do this thing!

Going to going for another solo attempt this year! I'd like to qualify for the compo, but usually I have to take some shortcuts that put me in the jam category :sunglasses:.

Should have plenty of time this weekend to get a nice entry done - definitely want to make something spooky, too!

I will be rolling with the following tools: - Unity for the game deving stuff - Photoshop for the artsing - FL Studio for last minute tune making - Blender for 3D models (or things that looks like 3D models :sob:) - BFXR for beeps, boops, and zings

These tips get passed around the blogs and Twitterverse ad nauseam but we all must remember to: - Keep scope small - Eat healthily - Drink water regularly - Get up and walk, stretch, or safefly vibe outside - Sleep at least 6 to 7 hours a night

MOST IMPORTANTLY - have fun. If you're aren't having fun you're doing it wrong !

Looking for artists

Ok, there's only less than 7 hours before the jam started. I need someone who is really good in making pixel arts. If you're interested, hit me up in Discord TheGamer#0309. I am a sole programmer using Construct, which is easy and quick to program, especially when it is only in 72 hours.

I'm almost ready!

Everything's almost setup for the jam perfect setup.png

Tip: Make sure to install the latest version of spudware on your computer.

My first REAL Ludum Dare

This is going to be the first Ludum Dare that I'm actually going to submit a game for! I tried to participate two years ago and gave up on the first day. After picking up game development again this year and participating in the GMTK Game Jam 2020, I finally have the confidence to go in, make something, and submit it, even if it doesn't turn out to be what I originally planned for. Good luck and have fun everyone!

A little Unity Loading Screen/Game Manager package

For anyone joining the jam, here's a nice little base to work from that includes a scene manager that adds a loading screen  https://github.com/DomHarris/SceneManagerSkeleton

The loading screen has a progress bar, you just have to call SceneChanger.ChangeScene("SceneName"); and it handles the progress bar for you. You can also add IEnumerator operations for unloading & loading - useful if you've got a giant object pool that you want to instantiate over a certain time instead of making the game hang for a second or two, for example.

How will I be told the theme

Hi guys!

Just wondering if there is a live stream I need to catch up on to learn the theme

The Chocolat-Endive team is ready!

Hello everydody!

So, we’re in once again for this Ludum Dare.

As usual, our setup photo: battlestationsreduc.JPG Bouteille's computer is on the right side, mine is on the left side.

We're going to use : * Godot engine (it's a great little thing) * Blender and Trenchbroom+Qodot or Magicavoxel for 3d (if we make some 3d stuff) * Krita and Gimp for 2d (or maybe our cameras?) * Qtractor or Reaper and Audacity for recording on computer * Brains if we have enough coffee

And here is my music setup: battlestationsreduc2.JPG

What do we have here? * Nanoloop mono on gameboy * Three Korg volcas (fm, keys and bass) * An Aodyo Sylphyo (a super fun breath-midi-controller-electronic-flute-synth-thing) * A Yamaha QY-8, a cheap but cool portable midi sequencer * A Yamaha pss-470 synth, it has an adlib/OPL2 chip, I love it * A Korg NTS-1 with the little SQ-1 sequencer * A Korg monotron delay it's cheap and has a dirty sound but it's fun to use * A bunch of pedals (delay, multiple reverb, chorus and some supid thing like a vocaloid pedal) * It will be all recorded on the Yamaha MD8, a multitrack recorder * Way too much cables and dust

Not included in the photo but you can see a part of it in the first picture is a Yamaha DX-9 for some good old fm cheesiness.

We'll, let's enjoy our last "free time" before the rush. I'm pretty sure it's going to be really fun!

Good luck everybody, we can't wait to start this ludum dare!

I am in for the 3rd Time!

I am very excited to join Ludum Dare for the third time, this time even with a free weekend!

I just wanted to give some tips for this Ludum Dare. KEEP IT SIMPLE AND DON'T GET HUNG UP WITH THE THEME!

Really, I learned from the last Jam, that even IF you think it's simple, it is probably not. I had to fix severe Bugs an hour from the deadline. So don't be afraid to cut corners and make your life simple (and code very readable)

And don't make the same mistakes I made last time... PLAY other Games and give some nice feedback. I thought My Game was really shitty...but some people enjoyed it. Which, made me happy and gave me the feeling of accomplishment. And yeah...it's sometimes really devestating to play and rate games an realize that about 80% are much better than yours. BUT Those creators where always one of the nicest people and rated my Game pretty good

TIPS FOR THE NEXT LUDUM DARE This Monday I started a new Project in Game Maker Stuido 2, in which I tried some things out. Tried to improve my Code from my last LD and started to draw and animate in Aseprite. Just to get back into a Workflow. It was a really good Idea! (Of course I am not going to use any Graphics or Code I made over the Week ) But I feel much more secure and good.

And remember, The Point of Ludum Dare is to have FUN I wish you lots of Fun and I am looking forward to see all the cool Games you guys and gals are making :sunglasses:

I'm in, maybe

Depending on what goes on this weekend, I may or may not be busy.

I've been working on a 2D game engine for the past few months. I just spent the past week making it support the web as well as the JVM. This is a great opportunity to test it and have some fun.

Team anyone?

I am Godot and Python noob. I wanna be on a team tho. Anyone?

I'm so happy to be here!

This is my first jam ever and I'm so happy I realized it was happening! I'll be using GameMaker 2 to hopefully create something fun! I hope everyone has an amazing time!
